2003 Ford Crown Victoria Lx Sport Mercury Marauder Rare, Babied, Exceptional on 2040-cars
Millstone Township, New Jersey, United States
Ultra rare 2003 Ford Crown Vic LX Sport in spectacular condition. I purchased from the original owner in May 2011. It's been my daily driver ever since. Had 90k miles then and 133k now. I am a parts manager at a Ford dealer and a Ford car enthusiast. I was looking for a Mercury Marauder and decided this would be a more practical purchase. It's basically everything the Marauder is minus the DOHC Cobra motor. The Cobra motor makes more horsepower and implodes at around 100k miles and good luck finding somebody capable of rebuilding it when it does. The SOHC version in the VIC usually goes to about 350k miles before a rebuild would even be considered. This thing isn't even broken in yet! I have babied and spoiled this car since I got it. I love it and will be sad to see her go. For those that don't know the Sport comes with rare bucket seats, a floor shifter, sport suspension, bigger tires on 5 spoke alloy wheels. I have invested thousands into this car personalizing it and making it better at what it already does well. Specifically the handling. It was good before. It's ridiculous now. Bigger Metco sway bars front and rear. Metco Watts Link suspension. KYB gas adjust shocks all around. New Ford coil springs in front. The highest rated all season tires high performance tires currently available. Continental Extreme Contact DWS 245/50ZR17 with less then 10k miles on them. Look at the pics! Lots of brand new parts throughout. Most of which were not 'needed'. I get great deals on parts and just can't help myself. Brand new factory wheels and caps. The originals had some scuffs and discoloration. Brand new headlamps. Originals were a bit faded/yellowed. Brand new (NOS actually...been obsolete for years) Marauder taillamps. They just look better then the orange and red oem ones. Console lid. OEM trunk organizer...still in the box. New OEM floor mats...still in the box. Megs exhaust tips. Megs was the original supplier for the Marauder tips. These were custom made for me. Pioneer DVD/SIRIUS/XM/Bluetooth (hands free phone calls) audio system and Pioneer speakers. Sounds and looks fantastic. Plays DVD videos even when your driving. Not recommended! Stereo is upgradeable if you want to add navigation, rear camera, etc. down the road. Synthetic oil since birth. Original owner started it. I carried on the tradition. I'm sure I'm leaving out a bunch. This car drives even better then it looks. It's ultra comfortable. Handles like a mustang. And it's just gorgeous. As I recall the car was involved in a minor 'accident' a month or two before I purchased it. The extent of the damage was a transfer of paint on the rear bumper cover that I was able to buff out in about 6 minutes. Other then that it's been smooth sailing. They just don't make them like this anymore. BRING BACK THE VICS!!!!! If I remember more things I'll update the ad. This car needs nothing and is ready for a new home.

Trucks, SUVs drive U.S. October new vehicle sales
Wed, Nov 1 2017DETROIT — Major automakers posted mixed U.S. new vehicle sales in October on Wednesday, though America's love affair with high-margin pickup trucks and SUVs remained in full bloom as larger, pricier vehicles fared better than passenger cars. Auto industry publication WardsAuto put the seasonally-adjusted annualized rate (SAAR) for light vehicle sales in October at a robust level of 18 million units. But after a long boom cycle, carmakers are still ill-prepared for the slight decline in sales anticipated for full-year 2017 and have taken too few steps to trim production, said Doug Mehl, a partner in consultancy A.T. Kearney's automotive practice. "When you make a new vehicle, you have volume assumptions tagged to it, and who wants to be the guy who says, 'I'm going to make less of this really cool model'?" Mehl said. "But eventually the market is the reality, and it's going to force companies one way or other here." General Motors GM reported a sales drop of 2.2 percent for the month, with consumer sales down 6.6 percent. But sales of high-margin pickup trucks, sport utility vehicles and crossovers all rose. GM also cut its inventory of unsold vehicles — a source of concern for the market — slightly. The automaker has worked to reduce its volume of excess inventory, including through significant production shutdowns in the third quarter. GM had said its inventory would rise in October. "We are heading into the fourth quarter with good momentum, thanks to a strong U.S. economy and very strong pickup and crossover sales," said Kurt McNeil, GM vice president for U.S. sales operations. GM slightly reduced consumer discounts as a percentage of average transaction prices to 13.5 percent, from 13.7 percent in the third quarter. Industry experts believe consumer discounts above 10 percent of the average transaction price are unhealthy as they erode resale values and are unsustainable in the long term. Consultants J.D. Power and LMC said last week that based on preliminary October sales numbers, discounts have exceeded 10 percent in 15 of the past 16 months. Ford The U.S. auto industry posted record sales of 17.55 million vehicles in 2016. New sales received a strong boost in September as consumers replaced vehicles damaged in southeast Texas by Hurricane Harvey the previous month. Full-year 2017 sales are expected to be slightly lower than 2016.
2015 Ford Focus Sedan is fresh-faced and ready to defend its Most Popular crown
Wed, 09 Apr 2014Ford has made an art of deeper-than-normal midlife updates since the 2010 Fusion, a strategy that has allowed it to keep models looking fresher in showrooms for longer without needing full redesigns. Instead of slight touchups to light fixtures, new paint colors and perhaps new wheel patterns, Ford has been digging deeper, with significant sheetmetal changes and very different front-end looks, along with an increased emphasis on new in-car technologies to keep models vibrant. Other automakers are following this trend, and Ford itself is continuing on the path with this new 2015 Focus Sedan.
There's a handsome new SE Sport Package that includes a firmer touring suspension, modest body kit and 17-inch wheels.
We first saw this sleek Aston Martin-like nose fitted to a Focus at the Geneva Motor Show last month, but Ford only showed the new look on the five-door hatchback - this is the first appearance of the sedan, which will bow at next week's New York Auto Show. The front end treatment is the same, with a new hood, new headlamps incorporating LED accents, a different grille shape and a completely revised lower fascia that does away with the 2014 model's controversial triangle-shaped corners and gaping intakes. The rear gets a new two-piece, laser-brazed trunk lid with new taillamps, but the overall look is quite similar to last year's car. In any case, the refreshed look brings the Focus sedan more in line with the design of Ford's other recently reworked cars, including the Fusion and Fiesta.
Ford issues four recalls covering 163k vehicles
Tue, 19 Aug 2014Recalls! 2014 will be forever remembered as the year that automakers went recall crazy, with millions and millions of vehicles adding up to crush previous recall records well before the end of the year. Adding to that tally is Ford, which announced a call-back for 163,000 vehicles.
Leading that charge are the 2.0-liter, EcoBoost four-cylinder engines of the Ford Focus ST and Ford Escape. 160,000 of the 2013 and 2014 models have bad wiring harnesses that can disrupt the signals traveling to the powertrain control module. That, in turn, could lead to a check engine light, reduced power and stalling. Notably, Ford hasn't recalled any other vehicles that feature the 2.0 EcoBoost, such as the Fusion, Taurus or Explorer.
While the Focus ST and Escape constitute the vast majority of recalled vehicles, they aren't the only problem children in the Ford family. 1,300 Transit passenger vans from model year 2015 were recalled due to brake fluid leaks, while another 600 Transit cargo variants were recalled after Ford discovered the windowless sliding doors could come open in the event of a side-impact crash. Dealers will replace the sealing washers on the passenger variants and add a reinforcement plate on the cargo models, The Detroit News reports.
