Ford Bronco 1971 - Frame Up Restauration! on 2040-cars
N?rnberg, Germany
Hi
after a full frame-up restauration (incl. new custom made frame!) I?m going to sell this Ford Bronco Sport - I?m starting a new project :-) This Bronco is actually better than new. 90% of all parts have been replaced by new original Ford Bronco parts! All critical metal sheets have been proffesional welded. Truck is completely new painted - original "Calypso Coral". V8 350 engine is overhauled and tuned - VERY strong! Same with gearbox and transfer case. Also new: all drive shafts, exhaust, steering colum/wheel, brake system, differentals (limited slip). New BF Goodrich All Terrain Tires. Underbody (and inside-floor) is profesionally industrial rhino-coated (see web: nashornhaut.de) and lasts forever. Lots of parts are powder-coated as well. Full documentation (500 pictures; all receipts etc.). This Early Bronco has a German oldtimer registration (T?V; H-Kennzeichen), which is equivalent with the US "historical car license". Not much to convince the authorities, that this vehicle is perfect (and save!) :-) So many things to mention - please ask if you have further questions. I can send more pics if needed. Personal comment: Please understand, that I spend more than 35k Euro in this car to get it where it is today. I understand that I will never get paid "my perfectionism" - but don?t come up with ridiculous offers. This car is an investment in the future (there will be not more of such cars in the future - a threatened species!) For shipping abroad I can help with some good, reasonable companies, that I always use to buy/ship cars from the US. Very easy and convenient door to door delivery. For example USA --> Germany door-to-door is about 2000 USD Just ask your local shipping company (I used SATS; Interglobal etc.) Easy to find in the internet. Have fun steff5 |

Crowdsource funding push on to save historic Ford buildings
Thu, 22 Aug 2013Detroit has no shortage of old, abandoned buildings, both within the city and in the surrounding communities. Few, though, have the historical significance of the old Ford Highland Park facility. Home to the very first moving assembly line, Highland Park was designed by the legendary Albert Kahn, and was one of the homes of the Model T.
Now, the Woodward Avenue Action Association is attempting to buy both the 40,000-square-foot admin building, which is located off the historic Woodward Avenue, and an 8,000-square-foot garage. The WAAA's goal is to convert the buildings into an automotive heritage center. The Detroit News spoke to the interim director of the WAAA, Deborah Schutt, who commented, "[Metro Detroit has] not been very good at telling our own story. So we've decided, let's pull everything together and tell our story."
The WAAA made an offer of $550,000 to buy the two buildings, and has $400,000 from the Michigan Department of Transportation and another $15,000 from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. It's trying to raise a further $125,000 through crowd-sourcing, starting a campaign called "Five Dollars A Day," after old Hank Ford's $5-per-day wage for line workers.
Rolling footage of the 2015 Ford Mustang hits YouTube [w/video]
Thu, 26 Dec 2013Just in time for the holidays: Ford took the 2015 Mustang to Route 66 to cook up rolling footage, and we've been given some of the leftovers ahead of the meal. There are no burnouts, no donuts, no revving, and thankfully, no music. It's just two minutes and 26 seconds of the new pony car running free in the desert.
So in case you needed more visualizing help, the video below will help you start imagining how you'll look in your 2014 Christmas present to yourself...
Toyota, Ford not interested in FCA merger
Mon, Jun 15 2015Sergio Marchionne will preach the benefits of mergers to anyone who'll listen, but his calls for industry consolidation may be falling on deaf ears. At least, that is, the ears of those who the Fiat Chrysler chief would most like to bend. Not only is General Motors uninterested, but according to The Detroit News, neither are Toyota or Ford. "It's something we would not be interested in," said Toyota's North American chief Jim Lentz, at the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Toyota Technical Center. "At 10 million (vehicles) we have enough scale right now to do what we need to do. There really would be no advantage for us." Toyota isn't the only one unenthused by the prospect of merging with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. The Detroit News also reports that Ford, though it may yet to have been approached by Marchionne, wouldn't be interested either. "We're not a suitor for FCA," said Ford CFO Bob Shanks. "We don't see that type of opportunity as one that applies to us." With GM, Toyota, and Ford expressing disinterest in Marchionne's merger idea, the FCA chief will likely start looking elsewhere – or look for other ways to compel his primary candidate to reconsider. He may eventually find a partner – more likely in the Far East or within Europe – but it may not take the form of the major player Sergio has hoped for.
