Up for sale is my 96 Ford Bronco. The last year for the Bronco so it has the mass air flow 351 instead of speed density system. The 351 runs smooth and is very quiet. Has no exhaust leaks plenty of power. I really do not want to sell it but I have lost my garage space and it is to nice to sit outside and rot.. The Bronco originally belonged to the Washington DC Police dept.. It is too clean to be a fleet vehicle so it must have been a reserve unit.. The wiring for the lights and siren is still under the dash. There is a small hole in the roof where the wiring came through for the light bar. As far as I am aware ford never made a Police package for the Broncos. This one has a very large factory trans cooler and what feels like a shift kit in the trans..I have owned several Broncos in the past and all of them had the small Trans cooler, never saw one from the factory with the larger one like used on the F250-350 trucks.. Also having the 5.8 it may have been a police package or heavy duty package.. Has the quad shocks with front and rear sway bars as well. The tires are practically new and have less than a 1000 miles on them. new walker quiet flow exhaust, All new moog ball joints and tie rods with grease fittings.. New oil pan from ford, "original one the paint was flaking off and started getting rust on it" New fuel tank, New axle "u" joint with grease fittings. new Autolite copper core spark plugs,Ford Motorcraft battery was replaced 2 years ago.. Any maintenance item on the truck that needed replaced I have tried to stay with factory parts.. all power accessories work.. Ice cold A/C, Rear power window goes up and down smoothly ..Currently it has mobil1 synthetic oil with motorcraft oil filter with 2000 miles since last oil change.. The interior is not sun faded and the exterior paint is original with no fade as well. I have always used floor mats to protect the carpet.. I am a non smoker so it has never been smoked in. When I first purchased the truck there was a ford emblem and a bronco emblem on the right rear fender that somebody glued on.. I removed them and they left some adhesive that will need to be removed.. I did not want to try myself, was afraid of messing up the paint.. There are some blemishes as follows: The center consoles blue paint is flaking off showing the original tan color.. I think that is the way it came from the factory.. prob ran out of the blue ones at the factory since this is the last year of the bronco.. The grille has a crack in it as shown, There is a dent right behind the pass side tail light.. there is some rust on the tailgate bottom and the pass side door, There is a small ding on the hood, and on the drivers side door. In certain lighting conditions you can see a outline where the police decals were.. I am sure with a good wax job they will dissapear.. there is a small dent above the tail light.. Overall this is a clean low mileage example of a classic suv that Ford should have never stop manufacturing.. The truck is not museum quality but very clean for its age,I have tried to describe all the major defects, look over the pictures and feel free to ask questions.. sold as-is with no warranties..

24 Hours of Le Mans live update part one
Sat, Jun 18 2016We tasked surfing journalist Rory Parker to watch this year's live stream of the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans. What follows is an experiment to experience the world's greatest endurance race from the perspective of a motorsports novice with a profanity-laden stream-of-consciousness writing style. Parker lives in Hawaii and spends far more time spearfishing than behind the wheel of a car. Jump ahead to Part Two here, and Part Three here. Big Money and billionaire hobbyists and rockets on wheels. Jets belching French color smoke overhead. Balance of power fuckery. Plenty of water on the ground this morning. Absurdly expensive motorcars lined up in the pissing rain. Fast twitch lunatics behind the wheel. Chomping at the bit. Let's go let's go let's go! Race hasn't even started, Ford #67 maybe dealing with clutch issues. Karma? That beautiful bastard Brad Pitt's out on the track, waving the tricolor flag. It's a standing start in "Noah's Ark" weather and the 2016 24 hours of Le Mans is go! First lap takes place behind the safety car, finished in a record setting 8 minutes 27 seconds. Wrong kind of record maybe, but this is the first time I've set my mind to watching the whole damn race. Feel like I'm part of history. 3:00 AM on Kauai, a little too early for life. Sucking down coffee like a maniac. Don't fall back asleep. Got my hands on four hours of rest, how much more can I need? Better be enough for the next twenty four hours. Gonna get kinda punchy toward the end. Jason Statham on the scene. Four feet of solid muscle, non-existent hairline. Lovely wife peanut gallery sitting next to me calls him the "best race car drive in the world." Not sure if she's serious. Toss up, could go either way. Statham's a funny guy. Heir to the Bruce Willis comedy action crown. Really good in the movie where the fat comedy lady plays a spy. Ford's on the road. Problems with gearbox pressure, apparently. Nearing a half hour in and the safety car is still on the track. Hellish amounts of water on the ground, in the air. Visibility is garbage. Getting better. Twitter wags, "Not with a bang but a whimper." Just building suspense. Mother Nature felt like killing some people today, race officials need to dial back the drivers until it dries a tad. Normal inclination would've seen 'em flying, guaranteed early lap wrecks. Sad news for that bloodthirsty part of my lizard brain I try and keep suppressed. Good news for humanity. #12 in the pit for a bit.
2015 Ford Mustang spied on video for the first time
Thu, 20 Jun 2013Not many cars will continue to hold our rapt attention quite like the upcoming redesigned 2015 Ford Mustang, codenamed S550 internally. Earlier this month, we brought you the first spy photos of a next-gen Mustang prototype out testing, and even though expertly placed cladding concealed the pony car's new shape, we could tell that underneath was hiding an altogether new form inspired by the Evos Concept from 2011.
Today we give you some video of what looks to be the same Mustang prototype, which you can watch below, and while the budding director behind the camera wasn't able to capture much in the way of the engine's audio signature, we can see the car in motion for the first time and compare its relative size and shape to the S197 Mustang GT that's on its tail.
2015 Ford Transit
Wed, 11 Jun 2014As a segment, fullsize vans are stealth-fighter invisible on most consumers' radar. Visit a dealership for any of the four brands that offer them and you'll be lucky to find even one on display. These are commercial vehicles primarily, even more so than pickup trucks. Vans are the shuttles for plumbers, caterers, carpenters, concrete layers, masons, electricians, florists and flooring, and a huge part of this country's productivity is accomplished using them. At the moment, Ford is the 800-pound gorilla in that room - fully 41 percent of commercial vehicles wear a Blue Oval. So when Ford announced three years ago it would be ditching its commercial bread-and-butter E-Series, it meant the Transit that would be replacing the Econoline had huge, 53-year-old shoes to fill.
We were still a bit nostalgic about Econoline vans going away until going directly from the Transit first drive in Kansas City to an E-350 airport shuttle. Climb up through the Econoline's tiny double doors and bang your head on the opening, crouch all the way to your seat then enjoy a loud, rattle-prone, creaky, harsh ride on beam-hard seats while struggling to see out the low windows. This is an experience nearly every traveler has had. By comparison, the Transits we'd just spent two days with were every bit of the four decades better they needed to be. It cannot be understated just how much better the Transit is in every single way. The load floor is barely more than knee high. There's a huge side door, and hitting your head on a door opening is nearly impossible. Stand up all the way if you're under six-foot, six-inches - no more half-hunching down the aisle. There are windows actually designed to be looked out of. The ride is buttery smooth, no booming vibration from un-restrained metal panels and no squeaks. Conversations can be held at normal levels rather than yelling over the roar of an ancient V8. The seats are comfortable. The AC is cold. There are cupholders.
Enough anecdote-laying, what's in a Transit? We're talking about a very fullsized unibody van that's enjoyed a 49-year history in Ye Olde Europe. This latest iteration is part of the "One Ford" initiative, so it was designed as a global offering from the get-go, eschewing the body-on-frame construction the E-Series has used since 1975. Instead, the Transit integrates a rigid ladder frame into an overall frame construction made of high-strength cold-rolled and boron steel. The suspension is a simple but well-tuned Macpherson strut array up front with a rear solid axle and leaf springs.
