1992 Ford Bronco XLT V8 5.8 L with K&N air filter, JBA headers and Magna Flow exhaust.  I am the 3rd owner, bought the truck from my dad almost 10 years ago who only drove the truck to the river during summer months and parked during winter. This is my daily driver and has been since day one. I have had a lot of work done to it with most receipts from myself and 1-2 owners. Rebuilt tranny in 07 with only 30,783 since. Rebuilt transfer case in 07, o2 sensor 2013, new catalytic converter in 2012. New rotors and brakes 2012. New alternator 2011. Air conditioning recharged and upgraded 2014.Truck was completely detailed in 2011 but could use it again.

Exterior is in beautiful condition for being 22 years old. Original paint was forest green with tan but my dad got it painted white to match his boat. Body is completely straight with a few tiny dents that are not really noticeable to the eye. Chrome moldings do have some denting but can be replaced. A couple of nicks around the gas tank door due to repairs and some scratching on inside of rear door. The truck does have one rust spot on edge of rear door about 3 inches long. All tires are in good shape with about 80% tread left.

Interior of truck still in great shape with no cracks in dash and truck has dual captain seats. Only a few minor boo-boos. Rear window button is stuck inside the dash but still functions. Cup holders are missing. Overhead light case is missing but light still works. Overhead lining has started to pucker in the rear of cab and one burn hole near driver window head lining.  Driver seat has small hole on outside near seat handle.

No check engine light! All amenities work as they should. This truck has been nothing but faithful to me and my family for many years and still has many more years in her with the right person. I am selling her because I am a new mom and need a 4 door vehicle.

Truck is sold "as is." YES YOU CAN DRIVE IT HOME or anywhere for that matter IT RUNS LIKE NEW. This truck just keeps going! Clean title in hand.

Ford hybrid sales rebound following MPG controversy

Sun, 31 Aug 2014

Ford hybrid customers apparently have very short memories. With two EPA fuel economy reratings in the last year, sales of the C-Max, Fusion Hybrid and Lincoln MKZ haven't been too terribly dented, Ward's Auto reports.
All three vehicles saw sales dips following the August 2013 rerating, although sales of the MKZ Hybrid had begun to rebound as early as November of that year. C-Max sales, meanwhile, took slightly longer, with sales on a steadily improving course as early as February of this year.
The second rerating, in June of this year, has had an even smaller effect on the Blue Oval's hybrids. The C-Max has actually been subject to a sales increase, while both the MKZ and Fusion saw minor sales drops (less than 400 units between the two in the month following the rerating).

Vile Gossip | Adventures in tire testing

Fri, Oct 13 2017

Jean Jennings has been writing about cars for more than 30 years, after stints as a taxicab driver and as a mechanic in the Chrysler Proving Grounds Impact Lab. She was a staff writer at Car and Driver magazine, the first executive editor and former president and editor-in-chief of Automobile Magazine , the founder of the blog Jean Knows Cars and former automotive correspondent for Good Morning America . She has lifetime awards from both the Motor Press Guild and the New England Motor Press Association. This is her first column for Autoblog — look for more Vile Gossip in the future. I began writing at Car and Driver magazine back in its golden age in the 1970s, before I'd actually read it. I knew very little about cars. The only magazine I read religiously was Four Wheeler because I owned big trucks and liked to go off-roading with my Chrysler Proving Grounds friends. My vast 10 years of driving experience up to that point (high-speed dirt-road idiot, taxicab driver, Chrysler Proving Grounds test driver) had less bearing on my being hired at Car and Driver than the fact that the editor just wanted to rile up the all-male staff. He didn't need me for that. They were already in full dudgeon when I arrived. They'd just spent a chunk of time testing a stack of tires for their big tire-test issue, and the editor-in-chief was toe-to-toe with the technical editor over the rankings of the top 10 tires. It was loud, and it was angry. I had no idea that car magazines tested tires. Cab driving had led me to believe that airing up a tire and changing a flat was all you needed to know. I changed so many flats on that cab, I eventually wound up in front of a live audience on the " Oprah Winfrey Show" demonstrating my brilliance with a jack and a tire iron. My point, of course, is that tires are more controversial, and also more essential, than you'd think. My other point is that it's good to get worked up about the subject, but not quite so good to let yourself be seen, as I did, on my hands and knees with my ass up in the air on national TV. This is how I prefer to test a tire: First, pick a top brand. Then accept their invitation to try and beat the crap out of their tire. I chose Yokohama, celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. The big news for them was the GEOLANDER M/T G003!

Ford recalling 370,000 Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Town Car models

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

The Detroit News is reporting that Ford will recall some 370,000 Crown Victoria (pictured), Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car vehicles from model years 2005 through 2011, for an issue regarding the lower intermediate steering shaft. 355,000 of the vehicles in question were sold in the US, with the other 15,000 sold in Canada.
The report indicates that corrosion of the lower intermediate steering shaft could cause a "loss of steering," presumably because of a partial or complete failure of the part. The report points out the dealers will inspect and replace the offending steering component for recalled cars, and may also secure a lower steering column bearing and replace the upper intermediate steering shaft as needed. The company is unaware of any reports of the faulty part causing any accidents or injuries.
Ford helpfully lists states in which corrosion is more likely to have taken place, mostly in the Snow Belt, as you might guess. Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia are listed.
