Please Read the entire listing before you bid!
This was a project I started and no longer have the time to complete
Read the good AND the bad and ask any questions before you bid
The Good:
- Strong Jasper 5.8L 351ci engine
- Holly 4 barrel carb with spacer plate
- Solid C-6 transmission
- Working 4 wheel drive with manual locking hubs
- Rancho 4" suspension lift, installed professionally for the previous owner
- New sway bar kit
- New Rancho performance shocks
- New fuel tank
- New rear brakes, cylinders and adjusters
- Class III hitch with 7 pin harness and brake controller
- Good alloy rims with decent 12 1/2 x 33's
- Solid frame, running gear and suspension
The Bad:
- The body is absolute garbage, rear fenders and floor are rotted
- The tailgate is unusable
- The drivers side door is off a newer truck, I have a matching one for the passenger side (it needs it)
- The truck used to have electric windows, the replacement doors are manual
- One hood hinge is broken
- The windshield is cracked
- I have the carpet for the back but the side panels and the back seat were stolen (I mean really, who the hell steels interior parts from a rusty '87 ford)
- The tilt steering column has a "wobble", the previous owner was about 5' and used the wheel to pull herself up into the truck
- No idea if the AC works
- Lights all work but the grill assembly is missing some pins so it rattles a bit
- There's a small hole in the roof from a previous light bar installation (really the least of your worries with this body)
- Minor exhaust leak at the manifold but otherwise OK exhaust
- Holes in the rear floor patched (poorly) with flashing, silicone and sheet mettle screws
I don't have the time to follow through on my plans to replace the body so I'm selling it.
Please, ask any questions before you bid
I was driving this thing until about may, I even took it out of state, but I can be stupid sometimes
I SUGGEST YOU REMOVE THIS ON A TRAILER IF YOUR GOING ANY REAL DISTANCE!
The Bronco is located in Mattituck, NY 11952
That's 90 miles East of NY City on Long Island
Buyer is responsible for transporting
I may be able to deliver via trailer for an additional fee but would prefer it be picked up
More than willing to show the vehicle to any prospective buyers

2017 Ford Fusion facelift comes into focus
Sun, Apr 12 2015The latest generation Ford Fusion has been one of the better-looking members of the mainstream midsize sedan ranks since its introduction for the 2013 model year. In the automotive world, though, even the most attractive designs don't stay fresh for long. These new spy shots shed some light on what to expect when the model is refreshed, possibly for 2017. With only a modicum of camouflage here, it's not exactly hard to see where the Fusion is getting design tweaks. Up front, the wide grille remains, but the lower air dam appears to have restyled recesses for the fog lights. Also, while it's difficult to get an exact look, the headlights seem a little rounder through the concealment. Moving to the rear, the lower bumper shows some tweaks, but those circular pipes are obviously just there for testing. With a light on, you can a good glimpse of the redesigned taillights too. Based on these photos, Ford's stylists know a good thing when they have it, and it doesn't look like the Fusion's general look will have any monumental changes. Still, it's worth a minute to click through the gallery for a preview of the refreshed design. Related Video:
Junkyard Gem: 1993 Mercury Topaz GS Sedan
Sat, Aug 13 2022As long as the Mercury brand existed — a period spanning the 1939 through 2011 model years — nearly every Mercury sold in the United States was more or less a redecorated Ford model. The Torino had its Montego sibling, the Crown Victoria had the Grand Marquis, the Cougar was based on everything from the Mustang to the Mondeo, and so on. Naturally, when the folks in Dearborn developed the Ford Tempo compact, a Mercury version had to be created. This was the Topaz, with the official launch of both cars taking place on the deck of the aircraft carrier often referred to as the USS Decrepit. You can't make this stuff up! The Tempo/Topaz, also known as the Tempaz, has largely faded from our collective automotive memory by now, since it broke no significant new engineering or styling ground (this story would be much different if Ford had only put the amazing straight-eight "T-Drive" Tempaz powertrain into production) and didn't have any endearing features other than being a cheap domestic competitor to the Toyota Corolla and Nissan Sentra. Still, close to 3 million Tempazes left North American Ford and Lincoln-Mercury showrooms during the 1984-1994 period. As you'd expect, most of these disposable cars disappeared from both the street and the car graveyard long ago. It takes a very special Tempaz for me to break out my camera while I'm patrolling my local wrecking yards; generally, this means an ultra-rare all-wheel-drive version or at least a very early model in super-clean condition. Today's Junkyard Gem is neither, but I took one look at this spectacular Bordello Red crypto-velour-and-slippery-plastic interior and recognized that this was no ordinary junkyard Mercury. It appears that Mercury had dropped the idea of clever names for base-grade seat fabrics by the time of the Topaz, referring to this stuff as just "cloth" in all the brochures I could find. That's too bad, because Mercurys had cool names for upholstery (e.g., Chromatex) in the old days. The interior is in very good condition but the steering wheel shows substantial wear, so I think this is a high-mile Topaz that got meticulous care from its owner or owners. Ford used five-digit odometers on these cars until the end of production, however, so we'll never know if this reading indicates 65,404 miles or 365,404 miles. The body is very straight, but there's some nasty corrosion behind the right front wheelwell.
Hurricane Sandy cost automakers 15,000 vehicles, may have ruined up to 200k
Wed, 07 Nov 2012Hurricane Sandy was the largest Atlantic storm in US history, and its total economic impact is just now coming into view. According to Automotive News, Toyota, Chrysler, Nissan and Honda are set to scrap around 15,000 new vehicles ruined by the storm. Nissan alone accounts for about 40 percent of those, with 6,000 Nissan and Infiniti models deeded "un-saleable" due to damage. The company saw 56 dealerships shuttered due to the storm, but 51 of those have since reopened.
Toyota, meanwhile, had some 4,000 vehicles at its Newark port facility, and of those, 3,000 may be scrapped. An additional 825 were dealer inventory when they were ruined. Honda and Acura dealers are reportedly sending 3,440 vehicles to the salvage yard. By comparison, Chrysler weathered the storm fairly well with 825 units destroyed, while Hyundai suffered only 400 lost units and Kia scrapped around 200.
As you may recall, Fisker also suffered some losses, and Automotive News reports the manufacturer saw 320 Karma models damaged beyond repair. Ford and General Motors have yet to come up with estimates, and no automaker has commented on the full cost of replacing the vehicles.
