1977 Ford Bronco 4x4 302ci V8 - Early Classic Bronco on 2040-cars
Miami, Florida, United States
|
Condition:
This 1977 Early Ford Bronco runs great, has been in climate controlled-garage, and has had routine maintenance and minor repairs by mechanics over the years. Body is in very good condition, with small dings, scratches, and paint chips throughout (see photos). There are small bits of rust, but nothing anywhere major (see photo driver kick panel). Crack in hood (see photo) has been the same size since I bought it. Original windshield is flat, with 1 small ding in it. Lock on driver side door works, passenger side does not, but there is no top--so its never locked. I have moved it across the country 3 times without issue (NJ, LA, Miami). It is the original factory paint job--37 years faded :-) Truck is not a show rebuild--but looks used and well enjoyed. I use it with the top off, but it comes with both the Kayline soft top, and the original hard top, as seen in the photos. I will also have stainless steel nerd bars from Jeff's Bronco Graveyard to add in that I have never attached. I have used it for the beach, golf course, quail fields or driving around town, mostly just weekends. It does require a warm-up on cold starts, but fires right up afterwards. Drives great, with a slight kick during initial acceleration (10-15mph), but I hardly notice anymore. There is not a day I drive it that I do not get a compliment. Features:
History - Clear Title. I have owned for several years without any major issues, mostly routine maintenance. I have had some wiring replaced, battery replaced, carburetor cleaned out and resealed, safety switch replaced, choke replaced, fuel fill neck replaced; I am not a mechanic, and had all this done professionally. Previous owner was out of California, owned for 15 years, and had stated that the motor was a rebuild with only 14,000 miles on it at the time (2010). He indicated the transmission was a rebuild, and that the smog pump, radiator, hoses, cat converter, fuel tank he had replaced new over his ownership. I could not verify, but sharing for history on this Bronco. This is a 37 year old Bronco in very good shape, but if you actually use it, there will be items over time that will eventually come up. I have been able to find nearly anything I needed off of Tom's Bronco Parts or Jeff's Bronco Graveyard, and had found a "Bronco enthusiast" mechanic anywhere I have lived. Questions? Please send me a message via eBay and I will post any answers for all. I am happy to speak via phone after that if I need to expand on an answer. eBay Motors lists an independent inspection online (InspectMyRide) which I can make myself available for--Bid with confidence!. Mazda Turnpike in Japan shut down for racing
Mon, Dec 29 2014The people behind Motorhead Magazine in Japan clearly have some friends in high places. Not only did they manage to shutdown eight kilometers of the Mazda Turnpike up the Hakone mountain, but they invited some of the country's premiere racers to take a drive up the hill. This wasn't just a Sunday cruise either. Featuring a BMW Z4 from the Super GT series, a classic Ford GT40, two flavors of Nissan GT-R and two takes on the Subaru Impreza WRX STI, these guys came ready to run. When an opportunity to let racecars challenge a curvy mountain road presents itself, you don't squander it. Thankfully, the folks at Motorhead knew that and outfitted the course with a plethora of cameras and high-quality sound equipment to capture the action. The result is nothing short of sublime. Take the video's urging to turn up your speakers for this one, and watch as these racers hit ludicrous speeds in a beautiful place never meant for them. eBay Find of the Day: Mk1 Ford GT40 with interesting history
Sat, 03 May 2014You might expect a rare Ford GT40 to cross the block at some sort of prestigious auto auction from RM or Gooding, not show up on eBay for over $2 million. However, that's exactly what we have here. The seller claims the car is a late-build Mk1 GT40 from 1969, and it's currently owned by the director of the Hublot watch company in Switzerland.
According to the listing, GT40 #P1108 started life as Mk1 car that was built from factory spares in 1969 and was first sold in 1971. However, the auction is somewhat confusing. According to an image in its gallery, the vehicle was actually built from one of the seven spare Mk3 tubs when production of the iconic racers ended.
This GT40 was never built as a racecar - it lived on the streets its whole life. After assembly finished, it was sent to Germany and was eventually registered for the road. The first owner kept the car until 2005 and sold it with 7,300 miles on the odometer. The current owner bought it in 2012.
McLaren, Koenigsegg, Toyota, Ford, Dodge and Corvette Lego kits announced for 2021
Tue, May 4 2021Lego has announced a slew of car-themed sets for 2021. The six kits comprise nine vehicles and fall under the brick pusher's Speed Champion line of official OEM-licensed kits. News of their arrival comes from German toy retailer JB Spielwaren's pre-order listings, which show three single-car sets and three dual-car sets of matched marques. Starting with the McLaren Elva roadster, the kit consists of 263 pieces and is finished in blue. It seems to have a difficult time capturing the curves of the real-life Elva, but there's only so much you can do with a bunch of plastic blocks. Lego has made several other McLaren kits before, including the Senna, 720S, and a more advanced Senna GTR for the Technics line. Next up is the Koenigsegg Jesko, made up of 280 pieces and finished in white. Though the real-life Jesko is still curvy, this kit does a better job of replicating its aggressive maw, vents and cantilevered rear wing. Rounding out the single-car sets is the 299-piece Toyota GR Supra in yellow. This marks the first time Toyota has lent their license to Lego. Again, it struggles a bit to represent the curvy Supra, relying on printed details like logos and headlights to identify. On the other hand, the Chevrolet two-car does a stupendous job with the 1968 Corvette. The C3 is instantly recognizable as such. The C8-R race car it's paired with suffers from the same issues as some of the previous cars, though. The set contains 512 pieces, and funnily enough the C8 driver has short hair while the C3 driver sports a period-correct wavy mane. The next set is a 627-piece Mopar-themed pair, including a purple (Plum Crazy?) 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A and an SRT top fuel dragster. The race car is spot on, but the Challenger was probably tough to make given the width restrictions. It looks a couple of pegs too narrow compared to the wide proportions of the real deal. Last but not least, the Ford set contains a Bronco R and Ford GT Heritage Edition. Consisting of 660 pieces, the set does an excellent job of representing both cars. The GT looks faithful in its Gulf livery, and the Bronco R looks more like a real Bronco than the actual Bronco R race truck. All in all, it's always fun to see more Lego sets with real cars, and we're glad to see more manufacturers added to the roster. The single-car sets are recommended for ages 7 and up, while the double-car sets have an 8 years and up rating. Price in U.S.
