1976 Ford Bronco Custom Sport Utility 2-door 5.0l on 2040-cars

I have a really nice 1976 Ford Bronco that I have owned for about four years. You know the drill - I have always wanted one. This bronco was painted about two years before I got it so the paint is about six years old. The paint looks really good. I've been told it is a single stage, extremely straight. The only things negative about the body and paint that I have noticed is the front windshield frame has a couple of very small little bubbles, and there is one spot on the tailgate that faces inside the car that is a rust spot about the size of a dime. When I looked, I looked at about twelve of them and by far this one was the nicest in my budget range. It has an after-market fiber glass hood. You can see that it has been cut on the rear with fiber glass flares. It was painted with the top off, which I thought was nice. The reason why I am selling this, is like I said that I have owned it for about four years and I have put about fifteen miles on it. It just doesn't do any good having a vehicle like this and not drive it. The things that have recently been done on it include having the engine rebuilt and bored 30 over. It had 10K miles on it when I bought it. They did put an Edelbrock aluminum intake on it. I actually put a brand new Edelbrock 600 carburetor on it. I just put a brand new electric fuel pump just to help it along. I put on their to accomodate the altitude. It does have the Mallery ignition on it, a unilite distributor, 3-speed manual transmission. It feels pretty good overall. Front disc brakes and the pads look like they have a lot of life left on them. It's got a Dana 44 LS front with 4.10 gear ratio, has a Ford 9" open rear end with 410 gear ratio. The front has dual rancho shocks. It does have power front disc brakes, power steering that works extremely well. Front worn hubs, custom 6-point roll cage, tires are like new - 32x10.50x15s with Ford aluminum wheels. All the front bushings have been replaced. When I first got it, it ran really good, and it still runs good, but I think the plugs might be fouled from sitting. I started it the other day, I can tell it just might need plugs. I've been around engines all my life, it is a good engine, seems like it is balanced real well; no ticking, no smoke, I think it has one very minor leak. I haven't driven it enough, so I wouldn't say that it can make it long trips. the only reason I say that is because I haven't driven it much. It is fun around town; nothing goofy or weird about it, but it is old. Windows roll up and down great, the door handles are new, but the buttons seem a little tight. Front windshield is not cracked, but it does have some pitting to it. Carpet looks okay, but there are some spots that look like they're worn. Windshield wipers are not on the car, but I have them in a box in the bronco. I took the air cleaner off the car, but it was for pictures only, I do have it for the buyer. The lights all worked when I bought it, but I haven't checked since. Doors shut real nice, no sagging. I can't tell you who is going to go to the Super Bowl this year, or who is going to win, but I can tell you that I will not take 8, 9, or even 10 thousand for this bronco. So, if you're thinking that, just to save you and me some time. If you have any questions, please, please call me, I will be as honest as I can about it. I am going to hate to see it go. 303.638.6972The vehicle is sold as is and all sales are final. Please ask all your questions before purchasing. I will be available by phone or email. I prefer wire transfers (in the past I have received a couple of fake cashiers checks, and paypal just charges too much), but if you are picking up I will accept cash. Vehicle needs to be picked up within two weeks of end of auction, and needs to be paid in full within three days of end of auction. Shipping is buyers responsibility. 303.638.6972 |

An amazing Group B rally car collection heads to auction
Tue, Jan 26 2021Kicking off in 1982, the Group B era spawned some of the most fearsome rally cars of all time. The technologically advanced pioneers of all-wheel drive and turbocharging defined a time when automakers had carte blanche to build machines with unrestricted power, without the burden of homologating a large number of road cars to qualify. The results were sometimes deadly, leading the FIA to ban the class after 1986. Now, a collection of seven Group B monsters is headed across the block in Paris as part of the Artcurial auction, held in partnership with France's famed Retromobile show. The show has been delayed to June, however. There's a 1985 Peugeot 205 Turbo 16, one of 20 Evo II models that helped the company achieve two championships in Group B's short run. This particular example was driven by world champion Timo Salonen at the 1986 Swedish Rally, where it finished seventh due to an oil filter seal failure. Bruno Saby subsequently drove it at the 1986 Tour de Corse and Peugeot entered it at the 1986 Acropolis Rally as well. It's still registered to Peugeot Talbot Sport and represents a French technological achievement, according to Artcurial, comparable to the Concorde or TGV train. Representing Italy are a pair of Lancias in the iconic Martini livery. The Lancia 037 helped Bel Paese clinch its only Group B victory in 1983, after a hard-fought rivalry with Audi. It's one of the few Group B cars that weren't AWD, achieving its success the old-fashioned way, through lightness and superb handling. A second Lancia, a 1986 Delta S4, was the culmination of the Italian firm's later Group B efforts and one of Saby's favorites. While Group B was no more in 1987, the S4 was the predecessor to the Delta Integrale that would dominate WRC from 1987 through 1992. While the collection also includes greats like a Ford RS200, Renault 5 Maxi Turbo, and MG Metro 6R4, the centerpiece is the Audi Quattro Sport S1. The ultimate Group B machine, it introduced all-wheel-drive and turbocharging to the sport. It also employed the wildest use of wings and air dams to generate downforce. Tunable up to 590 horsepower, it could rocket to 60 mph in about three seconds. The car offered for sale came straight from Ingolstadt, a 1988 model built for the Race of Champions of ex-Group B cars. The collection was amassed in the late 80s and early 90s, not long after Group B's dissolution.
Ford recalls 200,000 vehicles for brake lights that won't turn off
Wed, Jan 19 2022Ford and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced a new recall for nearly 200,000 vehicles because their brake lights may not turn off. Drivers of affected vehicles equipped with automatic transmissions may also be able to shift the vehicles out of Park even when their foot is off the brake. That increases the risk of a rollaway and could cause a crash. According to documentation posted on NHTSA's recall hub, a separated brake pedal bumper is to blame for the issue. The recall applies to "certain 2014-2015 Fusion, Lincoln MKZ and 2015 Mustang vehicles originally sold or ever registered, in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Hawaii." The safety regulator adds that "exposure to certain environmental conditions, such as high temperatures, high humidity and salt air can cause the brake pedal bumper to disintegrate and separate from the brake pedal." Owners of affected vehicles should expect notification of the recall in early March. They will be directed to the dealership of their choice to have their brake pedal bumpers and clutch pedal bumpers replaced free of charge. Related video: This content is hosted by a third party. Ford F-150 production hampered by frame shortage
Sat, May 30 2015If anyone has questions about how Ford's new aluminum-bodied F-150 will hold up, it's not buyers. Orders are so strong for the fullsize pickup that competitors General Motors and Ram are discounting their offerings to hold onto market share. It's a shame for the Blue Oval then, that it can't build all the trucks it needs because frame supplier Metalsa isn't delivering enough frames. Neither Ford nor Metalsa has said what the problem is, but Ford employees are at Metalsa's Kentucky plant trying to get it sorted out, Automotive News reports. Overtime shifts at the Dearborn Truck Plant and the Kansas City Assembly Plant have been canceled due to the shortage that's been a problem for at least two months now. The issue is exacerbated by this being the changeover period in production from the old model to the new, which comes with its own issues. That would help explain why even though Dearborn production finished ramping up in January, output in April was down 9.2 percent compared to last year, according to AN. Transaction prices are up for the new truck, but overall F-150 production in Q1 was down 40 percent, and missing product means missing profits. Combined with the production drop for the new Ford Edge, the company's Q1 bottom line was robbed of $1 billion. It isn't clear when the frame issue will be solved, but workers at the plants are ready to run "all-out" when it is.
