Available is a 1975 Ford Bronco with it's original 302 and AT, PS, dual tanks, 3.50 limited slip, spare tire carrier. The Bronco lot starts runs and stops. The motor is quiet and doesn't leak or burn oil. The Bronco sat inside for a few years from the previous owner before I bought it. It has all new electronics including coil, distributor, ignition module, voltage regulator. The left rear drum is sticking a little. The transmission shifts smooth. I'd recommend cleaning the gas tank, it is currently running on a 2 liter bottle.

The rear quarters were trimmed and lips from front quarters were grafted in. It has a factory look to it. All other sheet metal is original, even the front floors. There are no rust issues on the frame, rear bed, front floors, kick panels, door bottoms, windshield frame, tailgate, even the inner front fenders ( a common rust area). The door striker and posts have no rust and the doors close nice and have no sag.

The paint was done in the late 90's by a technical school shop project. The original color is Hot Ginger. Front seats are good, no rear seat. The A/C shown in pictures is not included. This Bronco is an excellent, solid project for the right person. I bought it to restore, but plans have changed.

Tired of looking at only 20K plus Broncos on Ebay, here's a great opportunity to buy a solid one with AT and PS at a reasonable price that you can drive as is or finish the way you want! I wanted to show a lot of pictures of the crucial structural areas so you can buy in confidence knowing there aren't any rust issues. I have a lot of other undercarriage pictures if you want to see more.

Sold with clear title. This is sold as is with no warranty. Please ask any questions before bidding, if you have negative or zero feedback I will retract your bid if you do not contact me first. Also, I reserve the right to end this auction early as the Bronco is being sold locally. I have a transport company that is very reliable and reasonable if needed.  Buyer pays shipping, but I will help facilitate transportation. THANKS!

Ford recalling 205k Edge and Lincoln MKX units for possible corrosion

Thu, 30 Oct 2014

After the horrible weather last winter, it's hard to look forward for the season to return this year. For those readers in much of the country, the snow is going to be flying soon, and with it comes salt on the roads. That means Ford's regional recall for the 2007-2008 Edge and Lincoln MKX arrives at the perfect time because they are at risk for corrosion.
The campaign covers 204,448 examples of the models in 21 states, plus the District of Columbia and some provinces of Canada. In total there are 186,024 vehicles in need of repair in the US and 18,424 in Canada.
According to Ford, it's possible for the area, "under the reinforcement brackets where the fuel tank is mounted" to corrode. If this happens, there might be a gas smell in the vehicle or even a fuel leak could develop. In fact, the automaker reports that one fire could be related to the problem but no injuries or accidents are reported.

Ford shows off V8-powered Ranger headed to Dakar Rally

Tue, 30 Jul 2013

Avert your eyes now if you're jealous that the global version of the Ford Ranger is not offered in the US. Ford's midsize pickup is being tuned up to take on the 2014 Dakar Rally, and the result is a truck that is probably even cooler than any F-150 SVT Raptor we've ever seen in the States. Ford is actually building two versions of the truck for Dakar, which will run from January 5 through January 18, covering more than 5,000 miles from Argentina to Chile.
Starting with a fully composite body and a 5.0-liter V8 plucked from a Mustang, nearly every aspect of the trucks have been purpose built to take on the grueling race. This includes things like the six-speed sequential gearbox, liquid-cooled rear brakes and the 132-gallon fuel tank. As proof that Dakar is more about endurance than speed, the engines used in these race trucks will be limited to around 350 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque, and will max out at a top speed of just 105 miles per hour. Scroll down for Ford's official press release offering more information about the trucks and teams being prepped for Dakar.

Diesel Power finds the ultimate modified oil-burner

Sat, 24 Aug 2013

For nine years, Diesel Power magazine has run the Diesel Power Challenge, this year's grindfest being "a week-long torture test that features seven events, nine trucks, 8,000 horsepower, and nearly 15,000 pound-feet of torque." The road to being crowned "the most powerful truck" starts with a dyno run, and then continues through the completion of a CDL-style obstacle course, an eighth-of-a-mile drag race while towing a 10,000-pound trailer, a quarter-mile drag race without a trailer, a fuel economy test in the mountains and finally a sled-pulling test through a 300-foot-long packed-mud pit.
What kind of trucks get into such a fight? Last year's winner, for instance - who upgraded his truck this year to prove he didn't "luck into the win" - drives a 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a 6.4-liter Power Stroke V8 upgraded with a custom intake, Elite Diesel triple turbos and a two-stage nitrous system. Another competitor has a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 powered by a 5.9-liter Cummins inline-six, upgraded with Garrett turbos, dual-stage nitrous, a seven-inch exhaust stack and twin fans built into the bed to cool the Sun Coast Omega transmission. The numbers on that truck: 1,255 horsepower, and 2,063 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. Naturally, as the image above might suggest, things don't always end well.
You'll find all five videos covering this years challenge below. A scene in the dyno video sums it all up perfectly: a competitor leaves his nitrous on too long and the crew is treated to some ominous poppings, he leans out the window, throws both hands up and shouts, "Amer'ca!"
