Clean '78 bronco xlt. Bought for hunting truck but it's too nice to tear up.  I'm the 3rd owner and have known this truck since it was new. Have all the original paperwork and manuals. Was owned by a local farmer and was driven sparingly by his wife and daughters then stored in the early 90's until it was bought by my buddy in 2011. He never drove it and i bought it from him in 2012. Was started and drove around the barnyard a couple times a year to keep it in shape. Has only 82k original miles! Seats are in great shape, didn't want to remove covers for pics. Driver seat has one small wear spot on vinyal portion. Rear seat is black and in perfect condition, i belive it was added in later years. No cracks in dash, visors or door panels. Tilt column.  INTERIOR IS NEARLY PERFECT. Rear window works good from the dash, the key switch on the tailgate seems to need replaced. Body has what seems to be surface, paint is flaking but body feels smooth and is solid. Truck was completly repainted about a year before it was stored, bad paint prep perhaps? Has nearly new tires, new shocks, new brakes, brake lines, master cyl and booster. Has 351m with edelbrock performer intake with new 600 cfm electric choke holley. Burns no oil, rear main has dime sized drip. Newer extra cooling raditator. C-6 trans with rv shift kit and aux tranny cooler. np 205 t case. 3.55 axles. 4x4 works fine.  New a/c compresor and accumulator, A/C is ICE COLD. New gas tank, sending unit and fuel pump. Still retains it's factory exhaust, quiet and solid. Have original bronco spare tire cover in great shape, not pictured.  No trailer hitch, has NEVER pulled anything!  Everything works as it should except key on tailgate as noted earlier. This truck runs and drives like a new, Would not hesitate to drive it cross country tomarrow. Will help load on truck you send or local pickup. $200 Non refundable depost through pay pal at time of purchase and the balance in cash if local pickup or certified check if shipped. check clears before truck leaves my possesion.

2018 Woodward Dream Cruise: What to know and where to go

Fri, Aug 17 2018

If there's anything that proves Detroit's motor-oil-in-the-veins, gearhead bonafides, it's the annual Woodward Dream Cruise, which will bring an anticipated 1.5 million or so people from near and far, plus tens of thousands of classic and custom and just plain weird cars, to a 16-mile portion of Woodward Avenue on Saturday for the 24th year. Loved by gearheads, collectors and the merely curious, who see it as the Motor City's version of Mardi Gras, and loathed by others, who deride it as the world's largest traffic jam, the Dream Cruise is nothing if not an explosion for the senses. What will you see there? Well, as Autoblog Managing Editor Greg Rasa put it last year, "There are historic cars. And works of art. Some are worth vast sums of money, and some are rat rods and rust buckets. And some are bizarre creations that make you ask, 'What were they thinking?'" A few things are certain: You will see many incredible automobiles. There will be plenty of T-shirts and other merch, official and not-so-much. It will be crowded, and probably hot. The Cruise will officially go from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., though of course cruisers have been out already for weeks. And there are plenty of attractions, both on and off the pavement of Woodward. Tony Michaels, the Dream Cruise's executive director, said the event is special for the Detroit region. "Together we celebrate the automobile and what it has meant to us," he told Autoblog. "To see the these fantastic vehicles and the proud owners says so much about who we are and our pride. "People should take it in to see history running 16 miles down Woodward Avenue and to be a part of the greatest automobile event in America." Ford is once again serving as the Dream Cruise presenting sponsor and will hold the 20th anniversary of the Mustang Alley at the corner of Nine Mile and Woodward in Ferndale, where it expects as many as 1,000 Mustangs to line up. It will also show off its lineage of trucks at 13 Mile, along with several performance vehicles at Duggan's Irish Pub at 31501 Woodward in Royal Oak. The company on Thursday unveiled the 2018 Mustang Cobra Jet drag car to celebrate the nameplate's 50th anniversary. Just 68 examples are planned of the $130,000 limited-edition model Other Ford activities include: Sales of tickets for a raffle of a one-off Kona Blue Mustang Bullitt, starting at the media clubhouse at 2 p.m. Friday. The raffle itself takes place in November and will support juvenile diabetes research.

This unique '64 Mustang was Edsel Ford II's first car

Thu, 02 Jan 2014

You probably had the same dream when you were a teenager. Your sixteenth birthday is coming up, or Christmas, or maybe both, and all you want is a muscle car to call your own. That dream has come true for some, and one of them was none other than Edsel Ford II.
Henry Ford's great grandson turned 16 on December 27, 1964 - two days after Christmas and eight months after the original Mustang went on sale. And that's just what was waiting for him in the driveway, courtesy of his father (and reigning chief executive) Henry Ford II.
The specially-prepared pony car had a pearlescent cream paintjob with narrow blue racing stripes, functional hood scoop, chrome trim, Euro-spec fender-mounted mirrors, a blue leather and aluminum interior, a monogrammed fuel cap... and a 289-cubic-inch V8 under the hood.

Ford EcoBoost successful because of Soviet laser weapons system expert?

Sun, 28 Jul 2013

Mike Kluzner is a man of many talents. Not only is he the software engineer responsible for fuel system diagnostics for Ford globally, he "got his start designing laser weapon systems capable of disabling the navigation systems of enemy satellites" for the former Soviet Union. Quite a résumé, wouldn't you say?
You may be asking yourself the same question that popped into our minds upon reading about Mr. Kluzner: What do laser weapon systems have to do with Ford and its EcoBoost engines? We'll let the man answer himself. "The same process for analyzing key physical relationships works for what we do today in engine combustion, catalyst chemistry and mechanics," says Kluzner. "These are all part of Ford's software engineering expertise." Who are we to argue?
Ford also employs an engineer who previously designed software to detect damage to the heat tiles on the International Space Station, as well as one who's past work involved particle physics, says the automaker in the press release below. David Bell (pictured above right), global boost system controls engineer for Ford, describes the software running EcoBoost as "the secret sauce" that makes the technology work as the driver intends and demands.
