You are bidding on: 2005 Mustang with 4.0L V6. I am selling on behalf of current owner that now needs a larger vehicle for a growing family. This is your opportunity to purchase a great looking, great performing Mustang at a price much lower than your local dealer or Kelley Blue Book value. Vehicle has passed annual NC state inspection, and is ready for a new owner. Mustang is sold as-is, where is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Vehicle will also be listed for sale locally. However, once bids are received for this no reserve auction you are bidding to win. Please review the entire review of Mustang listed below in BOLD prior to bidding. Bidders with no prior feedback on eBay must contact before bidding, otherwise your bid will be removed.

I've purchased several vehicles through eBay Motors, and realize how important an accurate description is when buying/selling a vehicle online. Although most vehicle purchase transactions have exceeded my expectations, there are unfortunately some sellers that will over promise, and under deliver.

My objective is the opposite: to provide you with factual, non-biased information, and assist you throughout the purchasing process to ensure your new vehicle is equal to, or even better than your expectations. The review of the Mustang may be lengthy, but I want to give you as much information as possible. Inspections are encouraged, test drives are welcome, and I am available via e-mail or phone to answer any questions you may have. If local inspection or test drive isn't an option for you, I can provide a video of component of the vehicle you're interested in upon request.

I've had the opportunity to drive this Mustang several times recently. Not only is it a good looking vehicle, it is also enjoyable to drive and reliable. I am impressed with the strong suspension, tight steering, and smooth engine. This Mustang delivers surprising performance alongside great gas mileage. Oil and filter were just changed, and there are no known mechanical issues. The current owner is the 3rd owner of the vehicle, and the majority of the miles are highway miles. This vehicle shows no signs of abuse. The factory paint still shines, and the interior is definitely well above average condition. This Mustang is a great daily driver, or perfect for fun on the weekend.

Cranks right up. Smooth idle. Engine is quiet. No knocks or strange noises. Steering is tight, suspension is firm. Accelerates smoothly with available V6 power, brakes with force. Tires have at least 50% tread left.  (see pictures)  All lights, knobs, buttons, and levers function as they should. AC blows ice cold, heat is scorching hot. 6 Disc CD/MP3/AM/FM stereo functions with no blown speakers. Wipers were just replaced, defrost function is impressively quick. Paint is overall in above average condition. Power options include: windows, side view mirrors, drivers seat, door locks. Keyless entry, with both remotes are included.

There are the typical minor rock chips/dings that come with a pre-owned vehicle.  This car is beautiful overall, and only upon close inspection will the imperfections found with any pre-owned vehicle become apparent.
There are dents and scratches on the drivers side rear corner. (see photo)
There are scratches on the drivers side front bumper, and an amateur attempt to touch up a rock chip on the drivers side of hood. (see photo)
The (3) of the premium wheels are in good shape, (1) has significant curb rash,  (see photo)
There is a dent/scratch below Mustang graphic on passenger side. This looks like it happened in a parking lot, and is only noticeable when very close to vehicle. (see photo)
There are some scuffs where the rear bumper meets the trunk that appear to have occurred from loading/unloading. (see photos) These should buff out, but I have not attempted to do so.
The tachometer is not functioning. All other gauges are functioning properly. After doing some research online, this appears to be a common issue with 2005 Mustangs. As this car is equipped with automatic transmission, this does not effect daily use or performance. Nor does it in anyway impact any other mechanical component of the vehicle. However, in an effort to provide full disclosure, I want all potential bidders to be aware of anything I've noticed that isn't perfect.
There is water on the ground around the perimeter of the vehicle in some pictures as it was washed prior to photos, but there are no fluid leaks that I've observed.

This Mustang has NOT been professionally detailed. Took the vehicle through a carwash prior to taking photos today. It cleans up well, and will look even sharper after waxing. A speed buffer and touch up paint would make this car look close to showroom new, but I will leave that up to the new owner. I did not clean the engine off prior to posting, so that you have the opportunity to see what it looks like as-is. Usually, an engine that has been pressure washed or greased up is hiding something. If there is any information you are interested in that I forgot to list, please contact me and I'll be glad to assist you.

Note: As this car is still being driven, mileage will continue to increase. If exact mileage is important to you, please contact before bidding, and I will provide photo of odometer.

Shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer. Or, you may pick the vehicle up in person. I will be available to coordinate with your shipper.

Deposit is due within 24 hours of the auction end, and is non-refundable. Once payment in full is received, Mustang will be released for shipping or local pick-up. Title and bill of sale will be shipped via UPS with tracking number if vehicle is shipped, or executed in person if you prefer local pickup.

PayPal, Cash, and Bank Certified cashiers check are accepted methods of payment. Please keep in mind that with Paypal or Certified check options, there will be a waiting period until payment clears before vehicle is released.

Again, please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions. I look forward to assisting you.
Thanks for reading, and good luck bidding!

Unrestored 1969 Shelby GT500 one of many classic barn finds going to auction

Wed, 19 Mar 2014

We love a good barn find here at Autoblog. We like that there's a palpable excitement and sense of mystery surrounding barn finds. Each case has its own uniqueness to it, and this latest discovery is no different: an unrestored, one-owner 1969 Shelby GT500 with just 8,531 miles on it.
In the case of this particular barn find, many of the typical questions have already been answered. For example, we know who owned it - his name was Larry Brown. He recently passed away, and as he had no wife or children to inherit the estate, the car he purchased at Pennsylvania Ford dealer in May of 1969, will be auctioned off by Ron Gilligan Auctioneers.
The car was fastidiously maintained, having never been driven in the rain. In fact, Brown never even washed it, out of fear of it rusting. According to the auction website, the last time this car saw water was probably when it was detailed ahead of being delivered to Brown. If that doesn't sound like a fanatical sense of maintenance on the part of this GT500's owner, this next part will. The interior has been treated to a similarly painstaking attempt at preservation, with garbage bags covering the seats and two layers of floor mats over the carpets. The result is a car that, aesthetically, is in remarkable shape considering it's spent so long in a barn.

Ringbrothers drops more hints about its wild SEMA creations

Thu, Oct 17 2019

Ringbrothers isn't finished teasing its SEMA creations. First we got a sliver of rear quarter on a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro that revealed a bundle of carbon fiber and SEMA-obligatory deep-dish wheels. The Wisconsin tuner's now announced its litter of cars headed to the show and a few specs, along with two shadowy drawings. The Camaro, christened with the name Valkyrja and a two-tone paint job, gets stretched in two directions with severe fender flares to widen the body and an extended wheelbase. We're not sure what's happening with the Camaro's snout in the drawing, but under that bulging hood we'll find a 416-cubic-inch LS V8 from Wegner Motorsports. Wegner built the 416-cu-in supercharged LS3 V8 that powered Ringbrothers' 1,000-hp G-Code Camaro in 2016.  The second member of the gang is a 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 dubbed Unkl. The exterior begs for attention with a deep blue sea paint job, deep front chin spoiler, bulging hood, yellow brake calipers, and what looks like a racing number inside a roundel on the doors. Unkl gets its motivation from a 520-cu-in Boss V8 built by Kaase Racing Engines, rumored to throw about 800 hp.    Finally, Ringbrothers is bringing its Cadillac Madam V for another Las Vegas go-round after giving the custom coupe some updates. The Madam V is a 1948 Cadillac Series 62 fastback coupe body placed atop an ATS-V chassis, first shown in 2016. The firm didn't elaborate on the changes, so all we can expect for now are the coupe's postwar good looks mixed with new-millennium engineering, and a 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 with 464 hp under that exceptionally long hood.    For any in attendance at the show, the Valkyrja Camaro debuts at the BASF booth on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019 at 9:30 a.m., the Unkl Mustang gets revealed a couple hours later at the Flowmaster/Holley booth, and the Madam V Cadillac will be on display throughout the show at the Ringbrothers booth.

Rare Ford Mustang ASC McLaren is a piece of '80s history

Wed, Jun 1 2016

You can't blame the dealer for advertising this oddball convertible as a "Ford Mustang McLaren." The name certainly rolls off the tongue better than "Ford Mustang ASC McLaren," and it makes the car sound a whole lot more appealing. However, without the 'ASC' in there, you don't get the full picture. And when it comes to the world of strange automotive collaborations—particularly those of the 80s—you most definitely want the full picture. ASC McLaren Mustangs were the result of fortuitous timing, and a project that was already underway between the American Sunroof Company and McLaren (no, not that McLaren). Detroit custom car builder Peter Muscat brought the idea of a Mustang with a tonneau cover to ASC after chopping the top off a Fox body on his own, and in turn ASC founder Heinz Pretcher brought the concept to Ford. Big blue was already in the midst of relaunching a Mustang convertible, which had been absent from the lineup for 10 years, so initially it was the Mercury Capri that got the ASC/McLaren treatment. The result was a car that was more expensive than a Mustang GT, and coupled with declining sales of the Capri overall, the car was discontinued in 1986, paving the way for the ASC McLaren Mustang you see here on eBay. With the change over to the Mustang as their platform for modification in 1987, ASC McLaren were given the opportunity to create something notable. Customizing the Capri was one thing, but the Mustang name carries with it iconic status. So what did ASC McLaren do with their chance to leave their mark on automotive history? They gave the car some visual modifications, both inside and out, but like the Capri, left the powertrain untouched. Also like the Capri, the cars still ended up costing more than $20,000. Between the high price, the economic woes of the late 80s, and disputes between Muscat and Pretcher, the ASC McLaren Mustangs were no more by 1990. During the three year run, 1,806 ASC McLaren conversions were completed, making them quite rare, especially low mileage examples like this one. The 5.0 V8s are known for being stout engines, capable of handling serious modification, and logging lots of miles, so there are no concerns there. The 5-speed Borg-Warner transmission that came in all Mustang GTs is also known for being a durable unit, the '87-'90 versions especially so. The main concern here would be the life the car has lived, and more importantly where it has lived.
