Up for sale is my 1989 Mustang Gt Convertible with only 63,000 documented miles. I have put a lot of new parts on car like new clutch, pressure plate, trow out bearing, pilot bearing, steeda clutch cable that you adjust from firewall, edelbrock performer heads, edelbrock performer intake, 65mm throttle body, carpet, window switches, window motors, interior all re dyed, new shocks on back to include quad shocks, 363 gears and new door seals. That is just the start of what I have done to car. If you are really interested, I can send you a detailed list of parts I have replaced.

I have been replacing things on car due to age, not because they were bad. I wanted to make car look brand new and show quality.

These cars are getting harder to find that are in really good shape like mine and right now they are going up $100.00 a month in appreciation.

I have taken off the old convertible top and have new convertible top, back glass, well liner and allnew weatherstrip   for the top that needs to be installed. I have not had time to get it done. I have new high performance stainless cats to go on car in the box too. The car also has brand new flow master exhaust on car.

I have completely cleaned underside of car and undercoated it. You will not find a better mustang then mine. I have put a lot of time and money into the car, buts things change and I would like to sell it to someone that will take very well care of it.

The car is not stock, it is pushing 350 horsepower, but has not been abused.

The only things  left to do on car is install new top, new back glass, new top weatherstripping and new high performance cats. I have all the parts new in the box waiting to be installed.

Also car will need new tires as I have never put new tires on car because I do not drive it and they need replacing.

The car sits in my garage and has never been left out. I also start it once a week and let it warm up and it has full synthetic motor oil in engine.

The car is being sold as is and does not come with any warranty. Seller responsible for pickup or shipping of car and a $500.00 deposit will be required through pay pal to hold car. Full payment due within 10 days of end of auction.

I want to be totally honest with potential buyers and I forgot to tell you that the oil pan is dripping some oil, I do have the new oil pan gasket thought.

I want serious bidders only!!

Thank you for looking at my Mustang Gt Convertible and happy bidding.

Ford and Chrysler reducing summer plant shutdowns

Wed, 22 May 2013

Most domestic automaker assembly plants traditionally take a couple of weeks off during the summer. The shutdowns give each plant time for much needed repairs and maintenance, and in some cases, help better align production with demand. Not this year, though, as demand for many models is outstripping what Ford, Chrysler and General Motors plants can produce.
Ford has announced that it will shorten its annual summer shutdown for most North American plants from two weeks to one. The shorter shutdown will increase the carmaker's annual North American production by 40,000 units on top of the 200,000 extra units that it was already planning to produce this year versus last. Automotive News reports that Ford produced 2.8 million vehicles on this continent in 2012, and that output this year has already increased 13 percent through April.
Chrysler, meanwhile, is also operating at full tilt and plans to run some plants through the summer with no shutdown at all. Those not getting a break include Jefferson North where the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango are assembled, Toledo North that will assemble the new Cherokee, and Conner Avenue, home of SRT Viper production. Other assembly plants will be down for a single week, while all of Chrysler's engine and transmission plants except one in Indiana will continue operating with no shutdown this summer.

Ford recalls nearly 1.3 million Fusions, Lincoln MKZs for brake hose leaks

Thu, Mar 16 2023

Ford Motor is recalling nearly 1.3 million Fusion and Lincoln MKZ sedans built from the 2013 through 2018 model years because their front brake hoses may rupture and leak brake fluid, which could affect stopping ability and increase the risk of a crash. The company notified the National Highway and Transportation Safety Administration and says that in the event a leak occurs, the brake fluid warning light may illuminate on the instrument cluster behind the steering wheel. Dealers will replace the front brake hoses, free of charge, and notification letters to owners are to be mailed in mid-April. A second letter will be mailed once replacement parts are available. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 23S12. The vehicles affected were manufactured between Feb. 3, 2012, and July 19, 2017. In mid-2020, Ford recalled 488,594 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX SUVs for a similar problem regarding leaking brake lines.   Recalls Ford Lincoln Safety

How new car shortages may impact your buying experience

Wed, 04 Sep 2013

If you want further proof that the auto industry is bouncing back, look no further than the empty lots and forecourts of your local dealership. According to a story by The Wall Street Journal, continued high demand for mainstream cars is overtaxing automakers' ability to produce enough models. Several dealers interviewed for the story are reporting two-week supplies as opposed to the typical two-month allocations.
With sales expected to hit 1.4 million units when August numbers arrive shortly and incentive spending down to its lowest amount since January, these limited supplies are pushing prices even higher. For example, according to the WSJ, the average price of a Ford Fusion is up past $26,000. Unfortunately, it's difficult for manufacturers to increase production quickly. If it invests in its facilities, as many manufacturers have done, it risks wasting cash if growth suddenly slows. At the same time, the momentum gained over the past several years could be short lived if vehicle supplies continue to dwindle. "Manufacturers are in a precarious situation," notes Karl Brauer, a senior director at Kelley Blue Book.
Low interest rates and a wealth of desirable features are also allowing customers to purchase more expensive vehicles while justifying their higher overall price tags, a situation that is compounding supply shortages. Even now, during the annual end-of-summer clearance season, deals on new vehicles are remarkably difficult to come by. According to the report, the Toyota Corolla is in a self-inflicted state of shortage, as Toyota clears out inventory in anticipation of the new 2014 generation arriving in dealers. Ford's supplies should rebound as Fusion production comes on line at its Flat Rock, Michigan factory. The Chevrolet Impala, Honda Odyssey, Civic, and Accord and Subaru Forester are also facing shortages.
