Here is one eye popping 1971 Torino GT convertible that stops people in their tracks. Only 1613 GT convertibles were made in 71 which makes them very rare and collectible today. This beauty is 1 of only 31 made with this paint and trim combination of bright red and Vermillion bucket seat interior. It's probably the only original one left on the planet. If you want a GT convertible this incredible Arizona beauty is the one you want. A Deluxe Marti Report documents the build, which is included.
The car is in excellent condition having been in Arizona from 1971 until 2000. It was restored in the midwest between 2002 and 2010 and then brought back home to Scottsdale soon after that. The paint work is stunning having been cut and buffed to a glass like finish. There are zero issues with the paint. All the jambs and inside the trunk look original and are nice. No signs of filler are present, Undercarraige looks original and nice and solid. .All the trim and chrome is excellent along with all the rubber and crystal clear glass and a perfect white power top with glass window. The laser stripes are perfect also. All the gaps are right on and doors, hood and trunk shut perfect. Five Magnum 5oo's with excellent Firestone rubber. The spare has never been on the ground. Under hood and trunk are fully detailed and complete.
Motor is the original rebuilt 351 Cleveland 2bbl with a Select Shift C4 automatic transmission. Motor and trans run and shift nicely as expected. Included is a thick folder documenting all the replacement parts and service performed over the years. Basically everything mechanical has been addressed over time and parts replaced as needed. This is a power steering, power disc brake car with cold air conditioning and tinted glass. Everything works except the radio and the high blower fan position. Even the headlight warning buzzer works,
The interior has been preserved beautifully. There is only a minor wear spot on the driver's seat lower bolster that is not even an issue and can be touched up easily. Door and quarter panels are outstanding along with the dash and console and shifter. . The original factory boot is nice also. Carpet and floor mats are perfect. All window regulators and door locks work flawlessly. This orange interior shown outside in the sun is a knockout.

Tanner Foust tackles 'Ring in SVT Raptor
Sat, 16 Mar 2013Here's a math problem: if Tanner Foust has a 24 hours to kill in Germany and one blue Ford Raptor, how long will it take him to decide he wants to lap The Nürburgring? Extra credit if you can get your answer precise to the millisecond.
A very truck-like and slidey lap of the 'Ring is exactly what happened when the Ford-sponsored rallycross driver took time off from set-up duties for his 'day job.' Thankfully no one even thought to worry about posting a time, but you can watch some Raptor skid marks getting laid down between the kerbs in the video below.
2015 Ford F-Series Super Duty Power Stroke
Tue, 29 Jul 2014What weighs 30,000 pounds? Big Ben's Westminster bell. A navy ship anchor. Or as we found out during our first drive program for the 2015 Ford F-Series Super Duty, seven pallets of cinder blocks loaded onto a dual-axle gooseneck trailer. The test was part of a raft of towing demonstrations that showcased the new Super Duty's impressive tug capacity, which maxes out at 32,100 pounds. That's 1,200 more than its nearest rival, the Ram 3500, when equipped with its upgraded 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel V8. Such is the heavy-duty pickup truck business, a diesel-fueled game of one-upmanship with only three players: Ford, Chevrolet/GMC and Ram. And in this game, the one with the most torque wins.
Until 2014, Ford was the one to beat, with its 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel bringing 400 hp and a massive 800 lb-ft of torque to the table. Then last year, Ram did exactly that, serving Ford with a beefed-up Cummins turbodiesel inline-six in its freshened Ram Heavy Duty truck line with 385 hp and 850 lb-ft of torque, enabling it to tow up to 30,000 pounds. But Ford claims it had designed its engine to be relatively easy to upgrade when the time called for it, so for 2015, Ford bolted a larger turbo to the Power Stroke, bringing output to an insane 440 hp and 860 lb-ft of twist, all without reducing fuel efficiency. Maximum tow capacity rises from 24,700 lbs to an incredible 31,200 lbs for the F-450 dually.
As for GM's HDs? They lag behind the lot with their 6.6-liter Duramax V-8, producing 397 hp and 765 lb-ft of torque. Yeah, you know things are serious when the trucks with 765 lb-ft are the knock-kneed wimps of the lot.
How the 2015 Ford Mustang will save your knees
Sat, 21 Jun 2014The 2015 Mustang is one of the most hotly anticipated vehicles of the moment, and Ford continues to leak out interesting little details about its newest pony car. The latest info doesn't have anything to do with its quarter-mile time or handling, but if any of that goes drastically wrong, the innovative new glovebox-mounted airbag may prevent passengers from knee injuries.
All variants of the 2015 Mustang get the active knee airbag as standard, and it's the first vehicle in Ford's lineup to receive the system. The setup is actually quite simple and ingenious. The glovebox is made from a plastic outer panel that is attached to the inner door. Sandwiched between them is this new injection-molded plastic bladder that folds flat when in use. If the passenger-side airbag deploys, the system springs into action to act as a cushion for your knees. Compared to a traditional knee airbag that has to fully inflate, this arrangement is 65 percent lighter and can use a 75 percent smaller inflator. It's also basically invisible when you look at the glovebox door.
Ford spokesperson Ed Saenz declined to tell Autoblog whether the system will appear in other vehicles in the Blue Oval's lineup but said, "We're considering other applications." Provided it's effective, the approach seems too simple not to make its way to other products. Scroll down to watch a video showing how the glovebox-mounted knee airbag works.
