Nice chance to get one of Fords classic muscle cars the Fairlane 428 SCJ Cobra Jet in the formal roof model. Very had to come by as there were few formal roof cars made, and even fewer with the 428 SCJ engine and options all sitting on a set of hard to find FATBOY 14's on Cragar rims. Lowest price genuine "R" Code 428 SCJ on EBAY
Car had been sitting for several years , so we took the engine apart to do a rebuild. Crankshaft turned smoothly and is needing only minimal work at the machinist. All other components appear to be there except the radiator and air cleaner. (Can include a correct Fairlane air cleaner/flapper unit for additional $500). C6 Cobrajet transmission with Cast Iron tailshaft and R Servo. Only 34k ORIGINAL miles on this engine so its got quite a long life left. VERY low miles for a car of this age and stature.
Car needs a restore, but good candidate for high $$$ return once completed. The reserve is very affordable with a low BUY IT NOW. The engine alone is worth 2/3 of the BUY IT NOW. We did replace one of the floorpans and added 2 rear patch panels. The original frame rails are overall good with only 2 small spots by the rear leaf spring shackles needing attention....but the rest of the underside is still in good shape. Body needs some attention. Older paint job. Car has the 428 reinforced big block shock towers and mounts. Has the original poverty dish hubcaps. Has original jack and jackstand. All glass in tact.
Engine is original 428 Cobra Jet matching numbers engine and will come back cleaned, with all new gaskets ready to run.. We will place it back in the car for transport before you pickup. All engine numbers match up including the auxiliary pieces. (Waterpump, manifolds, fan etc...) Car has the original 9 inch rear axle with nodular rear end...Even has the original Blue Owner card issued to original owner .very desirable features...
Car is sold as-is, how-is with right to inspect. We welcome inspections. Serious bidders only please. NO dealers please. Collectors only. We reserve the right to cancel bids from dealers. We can gladly help with shipping to any of the lower 48, and can also get the best possible price for an overseas buyer also. This is a hard to find collectible SCJ 428 and is easily worth twice the price once restored. We do have this car for sale locally so we reserve the right to remove the car at any time. If you have questions about the car feel free to send us your email or simply call. (We do have 2 other 428 CJ cars from this owners collection that will be auctioned up soon. Please check back)

Ford sued over alleged 3.5-liter EcoBoost defects
Thu, 16 May 2013Three Ford owners from Ohio have filed a lawsuit against the automaker over defects that they allege exist within the company's twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine. Automotive News reports that the lawsuit claims the engine "contained serious latent design, manufacturing, or assembly defects." Those defects, the suit claims, cause the vehicle to shake, misfire and lose power quickly.
Two of the plaintiffs, a married couple, own a 2010 Ford Taurus SHO, and allege they experienced a loss of power and stalling, while the third, an F-150 owner, claims he lost power while accelerating. In addition to the Taurus SHO and F-150, the 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine is also available in the Ford Flex, Explorer Sport and Lincoln MKT and MKS. Other three- and four-cylinder EcoBoost engines are not included in the suit. There have been no recalls associated with 3.5-liter V6 engine, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is currently not investigating the matter.
The plaintiffs, however, claim Ford has known about the problem, citing several technical service bulletins issued to dealers of the F-150 that suggest possible fixes. Ford had no comment for Automotive News, saying that it's yet to review the lawsuit, which was filed last Friday in Columbus, OH.
Ford to update Sync, MyFord Touch software... again
Wed, 07 Aug 2013Ford hasn't had the best luck with its MyFord Touch and Sync systems, as the finicky infotainment system has been subject to a critical whooping while customer issues have helped sink Ford's IQS scores. The automaker has made a concerted effort, though, to try and fix MyFord Touch. And while the results have been mixed, The Blue Oval is hoping its latest free update, set to go live next week, will make things better.
According to a report from The Detroit News, the new system promises streamlined voice commands with fewer levels between opening query and actual result. Ford is also addressing where certain options are selected on the touchscreen. Rather than working one of the four quadrants on the homescreen, users will be able to select anywhere within the quadrant to make adjustments.
While it might only be a band-aid for MFT's problems, the fact that Ford is still trying to improve it is a promising sign. It's going to take more than just this update to address the system's ills, though.
Ford's Mulally now said to be in lead for Microsoft CEO job
Sun, 29 Sep 2013There have been rumors that Ford CEO Alan Mulally could assume the top job over at Microsoft, whose CEO, Steve Ballmer, will retire within the year. Mulally hasn't come out and said that he's considering moving to Microsoft after (or before) his contract with Ford through 2014 ends, but sources in the know say he's the front-runner to become the tech giant's CEO and has opened up to the idea more in recent weeks, AllThingsD reports.
Mulally is no stranger to Washington, where Microsoft is located, having worked in the state for Seattle-based Boeing Commercial Airplanes as CEO years ago. He also recently was an adviser to Ballmer in an effort to realign the company's management structure to help it become more competitive in a fast-changing computer hardware and software market. And when Ford developed its Sync digital interface, it tapped Microsoft to provide the operating system, Microsoft Auto. Perhaps the least crucial connection - but nonetheless an important one - is that Mulally still owns a house in the Seattle area, and it's been said he wants to return there, according to AllThingsD.
A main challenge Microsoft's next CEO will face is how to manage the company's numerous, fractured operations and, eventually, streamline them. But even on this front, Mulally has experience; after all, it was he who ushered in an era of global Ford vehicles, after the automaker had become complacent developing and selling vehicles by region leading up to the economic recession of 2008-2009.
