1968 Ford Torino GT, North Carolina car.......
The car is complete with the follwong exceptions: Hood lip molding, trim rings. Car has rollers on it and the correct 4 steel wheels are in the trunk.
The 302 engine does run and sounds OK, no knocks, pings or smoke. As far as the transmission is concerned, its a 3 speed manual that was on the column but has moved to the floor, she goes into all 4 gears with ease. The brakes are bad and the tires are dry rotted. The exhaust is intact and goes out all the way to the rear bumper. There is not a power steering belt on the car but the power steering system is complete. The electrical has some gremlins, lights work, brake lights work, marker lights and etc, all there but needs gone over.... I also have a column that was for a 4 speed that I will give with the car, that way you only have the floor shifter.
The interior is complete, back seats are not torn, rear package tray ok, needs headliner, all door panels are ok except the drivers which has a small tear but the door lock knob, carpet worn, dash pad is straight and free of cracks. Front bench is torn but cushion is not exposed. All seat belts are on car and back are still in plastic.
All trim is on the car and in need of polishing/re-chroming, the bumper are straight but do need re-chromed. All the glass is Ok with the exception of the windshield but a used OEM one goes with the car. All the weather stripping is shot.
Body is in need of paint, hood is shot, fenders are rust free except for light scale..no holes, outside of the doors have a few small bubbles appearing on the outside but there are no holes showing on the outside, the drivers door has a hole in the bottom corner but can be repaired and should be as the bottom of the door is ok. The trunk lid has one spot on the out side but is definitely repairable as the underneath is ok. The quarters do not show any rot and the lips are ok, but there are signs of old body work to the pass quarter from inside the trunk, old school rivets can be seen near the wheel well. Roof is ok. The tail light panel is ok.
The underneath, both front torque boxes will need work, the passenger side being the worse. The floor pans and rails are ok with scale no holes. The front section of the car around near the core/radiator support will need repair. Battery tray is gone but the apron does not have a whole through it. Cowl looks ok.....Trunk section has a few holes starting to appear on the upper section but no major rot, spring hangers are solid as well as the rails.
This is a 45 year old car that has had prior body work and has been sitting, please keep that in mind when bidding. I encourage you to come a see the car and to check all the pics I have at flickr.com then type in jkupka search under people. Ebay changed their rules and I can no longer provide the link.
If you need any more pics let me know and any questions answered I will do my best. I'm human and do miss things but have done as much as I can to describe what I see. I will provide my telephone number if asked thru ebay ask the seller.

VW walks away from Aurora after self-driving startup partners with FCA
Wed, Jun 12 2019BERLIN — Volkswagen has ended its partnership with self-driving car software firm Aurora, two days after the Silicon Valley start-up said it would build autonomous platforms for commercial vehicles with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. "The activities under our partnership have been concluded," a VW spokesman said in a statement on Tuesday following an earlier Financial Times report on the move which said VW now wanted to work with Ford Motor Co on autonomous driving. Ford's majority-owned subsidiary Argo AI is building an automated "driver" that could compete with Aurora's technology. Aurora said Tuesday "Volkswagen Group has been a wonderful partner to Aurora since the early days of development of the Aurora Driver." The company's statement added that it continues to work "with a growing array of partners." The autonomous vehicle industry is still in its infancy, and alliances and strategies are fluid. Aurora has sought to remain independent and serve a number of would-be autonomous vehicle makers rather than be acquired. Aurora, which said in February it had raised $530 million in new funding, also has partnerships with Hyundai Motor Co and China's Byton to develop and test self-driving systems for automakers, fleet owners and others. After announcing its partnership with Aurora in early 2018, VW last June began discussions with Ford to develop a range of commercial vehicles, later extending the discussions to include electric vehicles and Argo's autonomous driving technology as part of an alliance designed to save billions in costs. VW and Ford have not announced partnerships involving electric or autonomous vehicle technology. Green Chrysler Fiat Ford Volkswagen Technology Emerging Technologies Autonomous Vehicles
Ford Mondeo with 1.5-liter EcoBoost debuts in China
Sat, 20 Apr 2013Does the car above, posing fancifully in white, look familiar? Well, it should. Although it wears Mondeo badges in the form you see above for the Chinese market - as it does in Europe - the car is basically the same thing sold in the US as the Ford Fusion. Of course, it's what's under that shapely skin that counts.
Ford has chosen the Shanghai Motor Show as the venue with which to unveil its 1.5-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine. We'd heard about the engine before, but now we have a few performance estimates to share: 133 kW of power (about 178 horsepower) and 240 Nm of torque (about 177 pound-feet).
Those numbers pretty much confirm previous rumors indicating about 177 in each category, and it's right on par with what Ford's own 1.6-liter EcoBoost produces. Ford is claiming best-in-class fuel economy as well, but no specific figures have yet been provided. In any case, we'll surely have all the data soon enough, as the 1.5-liter mill is destined for the US Fusion in 2014.
Ford recalls select Explorer, E-Series vans
Tue, 21 Jan 2014Just a few days ago we brought you news that Ford had issued a recall on 28,000 units of the Edge crossover for problems related to the fuel line. But now the Blue Oval has issued recall notices on two more of its larger vehicles.
The first relates to the Explorer, 395 examples of which from the 2011 and 2012 model years were found to have problems with their steering systems if they underwent service after September 1, 2013. An apparent software glitch could lock the steering gear, preventing the driver from steering the vehicle and thereby increasing the risk of a crash. As a result, Ford dealers are being instructed to check their records to identify the problematic vehicles and bring them in to have the steering gear replaced. Details of the recall can be found in the PDF linked here.
The second problem revolves around E-Series vans that may develop bubbles in their windshields under hot temperatures. The decrease in visibility through the problematic windshield could - you guessed it - "increase the risk of a crash." As a result, Ford is calling in 4,532 units of the E-150, E-250, E-350 and E-450 vans built in the relatively short window between May 12 and May 26, 2011. Details of this recall can be found in the notice below from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
