1962 Ford Thunderbird Convertible
You are viewing a very nice survivor T Bird with Dealer added Sports Roadster package. Odometer shows 29K, believed to be 129K miles. Since 2008 many items on the car have been rebuilt or restored with less than 1K miles since all work has been done. The car runs and drives excellent. The car has its original Ford Gate release invoice. The car was purchased from a former Ford dealer who owned the car for 30 years and stored indoors.
Please read on for more particulars of the car:
Body/Paint: The body panels and paint are original to the car. Slight door damage to the driver’s door below the key hole that has been repaired. Overall the body is in excellent condition with no rust. Floor pans and trunk pans are original to the car. The paint is original showing some signs of wear with a few chips, but very presentable as driver quality.
Interior: The dash pad, carpet, front and rear seats have been replaced with original aftermarket material and looks very nice. Seat belts are new as well. All other interior components are original to the car in very good condition. The interior bright work, dash and console are in very good original condition with little to no pitting on bright work.
Convertible/Sport Roadster top: The convertible top is original and in good overall condition showing some signs of wear. The power top system has been restored with items as needed. Works excellent with new trunk mat. The original Sports Roadster tonneau cover is in excellent condition with new head rest upholstery. The car is not an original factory Sports Roadster, but was added at the dealer at the time of purchase. The Sports Roadster details on the car, Ford logo on fenders and tonneau cover show patina and have been installed on the car since purchase. No grab bar.
Running Gear: Original engine with the top end rebuilt along with the original carb rebuilt. The entire engine compartment has been restored. New stock replacement radiator and heater core. New belts, hoses, etc. The transmission is original to the car and works as it should. Very likely the transmission has been rebuilt knowing how well it shifts, but no record of it. The rear end is stock and in good working order.
Suspension: The front end has had tie rods replaced. Shocks replaced
Brakes: The brakes have been gone through and in good working order with the master cylinder being replaced.
Exhaust: Completely replaced as stock.
Bright work: Original to the car in overall good condition. Some visible wear and slight pitting, but presentable.
Glass: All original to the car in very good condition.
Wheels/Tires: Original Kelsey Hayes chrome spoke wheels with new tires with less than 1K miles. The wheels are in very good condition with no visible rust within the hub and spokes.
Summary: This car represents and very nice survivor convertible with the added dealer Sport Roadster package that is original and not recent aftermarket. Makes a great weekend cruiser and parade car. All the hard work has been done so one can now just enjoy driving the car. Want to buy a brand-new 1964 Ford Mustang? [w/video]
Wed, Mar 18 2015Even in its current iteration, the Ford Mustang is not without its share of heritage design cues. But if it's a more classic look of the first-gen pony car you're after, combined with modern levels of equipment, Revology just might have the answer. The Orlando-based company makes what you might call "continuation" Mustangs, using replica steel bodies made by Dynacorn and licensed by Ford to give it that classic look, but with modern technology. Under the skin you'll find a 5.0-liter fuel-injected V8 with 265 horsepower and either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission, but the powertrain is just the start. It's also got a MacPherson strut suspension, disc brakes, power steering and a cabin equipped with such modern accoutrements as power door locks and seats, keyless entry, intermittent wipers, even Bluetooth connectivity. And it's all covered by a one-year, unlimited-milage warranty, plus five-year corrosion protection and three-year powertrain warranty. Of course none of that comes cheap, as a turnkey Revology Mustang will set you back at least $119,500, in the buyer's choice of fastback or convertible body-styles. The first example was unveiled at the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance this past weekend, with the first customer examples set for delivery next year. This content is hosted by a third party. Ford F-150 pulls semi truck through snow-clogged Chicago streets
Wed, Feb 4 2015Earlier this week, the Midwest was crippled by a massive snowstorm that dumped a foot or more of powder in some areas. The result was, of course, transportation gridlock. It's a fortunate thing for this stranded semi-truck driver, then, that a Ford F-150 EcoBoost stumbled upon him. Despite a tow rating of just over 11,000 pounds, the four-wheel-drive, turbocharged pickup managed to dislodge the big rig from a snow-covered street. Of course, the Ford didn't get the semi moving all on its own – watch the video towards the end and the semi was quite clearly spinning its rear tires. Still, it's an impressive feat that we've little doubt F-Series fans are celebrating. Related video:
2020 Ford Escape hybrids vs other crossover fuel sippers: How they compare on paper
Wed, Apr 3 2019Along with a new generation of Escape, Ford also reintroduced the world to the 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid. And if that weren't enough, Ford is adding a plug-in hybrid version. This is a sign of the times: people are more crossover crazy than ever, but are also seeking ways to use less fuel, whether it's for environmental or purely money-motivated reasons. The Ford hybrids aren't the only fuel-efficient compact crossovers on the market. They will be going head-to-head with conventional hybrids including the 2019 Kia Niro, 2019 Nissan Rogue Hybrid and 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. There are other plug-in hybrids including the 2019 Subaru Crosstrek PHEV, 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and the plug-in version of the 2019 Kia Niro. There are even a couple diesels in the form of the 2019 Chevy Equinox and 2019 GMC Terrain. So we've rounded up the details on all these crossovers to see who leads and lags in criteria such as power, fuel efficiency, space and price. Check out all their details below. 2019 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid View 68 Photos How do their engines and fuel economy compare? Conventional Hybrids and Diesels Let's face it, if you're buying one of these crossovers, one of the things that matters most to you is just how frugal with fuel they are. We'll start off with the conventional hybrids and diesels, and the clear victor is the Kia Niro, which in base FE trim, manages to hit 50 mpg combined. This is thanks to it sharing its powertrain with the Hyundai Ioniq, the Hyundai equivalent of the Toyota Prius. Buyers should take note that only the FE returns such high fuel economy. The LX and EX drop to 49 mpg, and the S Touring and Touring get 43. Even then, the least efficient Niro is the most efficient of the normal hybrids and diesels. It is nearly the least powerful, though, with 139 horsepower. Just behind it is the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. It delivers 40 mpg combined, and it has an ace up its sleeve: it comes standard with all-wheel drive. Every other vehicle in this powertrain group has front drive standard, and the Niro isn't available with all-wheel drive at all. If that weren't enough, the RAV4 Hybrid also boasts the most power at 219 horses. While we can't say anything about Escape Hybrid fuel economy, we do know that it will make 198 horsepower, which is close to the class-leading RAV4. The least powerful of these is the Equinox and Terrain, and they return the worst fuel economy at 32 mpg.
