YOU ARE LOOKING AT A VERY VERY COOL CUSTOM 1986 FORD RANGER ST-X.

FIRST THE GOODIES. I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK A WHILE BACK AS YOU SEE IT WITH ALL THE EXTRAS AND I HONESTLY DON'T REMEMBER ALL OF THE EXTRAS. I BELIEVE IT HAS A 9 INCH LIFT ALL TOGETHER. JUDGING FROM THE LIFT BLOCKS IT LOOKS TO BE 6 INCH SUSPENSION LIFT AND 3 INCH BODY LIFT.  THE TIRES ARE 39.5 INCH MICKEY THOMPSON BAJA's GREAT TREAD BUT WEATHERED A BIT. THERE ARE A TOTAL OF 18 RANCHO SHOCKS ON THIS TRUCK BETWEEN THE STEERING STABILIZERS AND DIRECT SUSPENSION SHOCKS! THIS TRUCK WAS A SHOW TRUYCK IN THE 90`S WINNING SEVERAL TROPHIES  IT WAS CALLED "THE ULTIMATE HIGH"! THE INTERIOR IS IN REALLY GREAT SHAPE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE DASH WHICH IS CRACKED  FROM THE SUN THE BUCKET SEATS ARE CUSTOM ALL POWER WITH THE STX SIGNIA AT THE TOP OF EACH BOTH IN A REAL NICE MAROON PLUSH SLIGHT REPAIR ON DRIVER SEAT BESIDES A LITTLE SOILED THE INTERIOR LOOKS GURRRREAT LOOKS GREAT!. THE SUSPENSION LIFT WAS DONE PROFESSIONALLY AT SAMS OFFROAD HERE IN TULSA, OK. THE CUSTOM PAINT JOB WAS DONE BY "THE WIZARD" HERE IN TULSA AS WELL. SAM's OFFROAD AND "THE WIZARD" ARE BOTH LOCALLY FAMOUS FOR EXCELLENT WORK! IF YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THEM GOOGLE THEM AND READ THE REVIEWS.. THE PAINT FEATURES SOME OF THE LOONEY TOONS AND SOME GREAT PIN STRIPING.ALL HAND DONE . THE DOOR JAMS ARE EVEN PIN STRIPED! THE CLEAR COAT IS PEELING PRETTY BADLY AND WILL NEED RECOATED. RIGHT NOW I'D SAY THE PAINT LOOKS AWESOME FROM ABOUT 20 FT BUT SHOWS ITS IMPERFECTIONS WHEN YOU GET CLOSER.  THE WHEELS ARE AMERICAN RACING WHEELS AND ARE IN PRETTY GOOD CONDITION. IT IS A 5 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND 2WD. I HONESTLY DON'T KNOW THE GEAR RATIO BUT FROM HOW MUCH WORK WAS PUT INTO THE SUSPENSION I'D HAVE TO BELIEVE THEY DID THE RIGHT THING AND LOWERED THE RATIO FOR THE OVERSIZED WHEELS.. OF COURSE THIS IS ONLY AN ASSUMPTION. THERE IS SEVERAL THOUSAND PUT INTO THE CUSTOMIZING OF THIS AWSOME TRUCK.   THE LIGHTS ARE ALL DICK CEPEK LIGHTS WITH KC COVERS. I DO HAVE ALL OF THE COVERS. THERE ARE THE TINTED OR BLACK OUT HEADLIGHT COVERS. THAT ARE EASY ON AND OFF. CUSTOME CROME FIRE EXTINGQUISHERS . ALL THE CROME BUMPERS AND ROW BARS ARE ALL SMITTY BUILT...IT DOES HAVE A TOW PACKAGE. THE SPARE TIRE WAS CUSTOME MOUNTED IN THE BACK LOOKS TOTALLY AWSOME!!!!

NOW THE NOT SO AWSOME!  I'M GOING TO START BY SAYING THIS TRUCK DOES NOT RUN. THE ENGINE IS MOUNTED AND BOLTED IN. BUT THE WIRING HARNESS STILL NEEDS TO BE HOOKED UP. I HAVE THE ECU AND ALL THE HARNESS AND EVERYTHING YOU WILL NEED. THE 4.0 ENGINE CAME OUT OF A 1997 FORD EXPLORER. I HAVE THE WIRING HARNESS STEERING COLUMN AND GAUGE CLUSTER FROM THAT VEHICLE, NON OF WHICH ARE INSTALLED. I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK WITH THE INTENT OF PUTTING IT BACK ON THE ROAD BUT I JUST DON'T HAVE THE TIME. ALL THE ACCESSORIES SEEM TO BE THERE BUT AGAIN  IT ALL JUST NEEDS TO BE HOOKED UP AND ADJUSTED AND CUSTOMINZED TO THE TRUCK. IF I REMEMBER RIGHT THE RADIATOR NEEDS TO BE BOLTED IN AS WELL... NO BIG DEAL JUST 4 BOLTS.ANYTHING THAT HAS TO DO WITH WIREING NEEDS TO BE DONE DOWN TO THE SEATS DONT KNOW WHY THOSE WERE UNHOOKED BUT THEY ARE, THE STEREO WAS PULLED SO YOU WILL NEED TO INSTALL YOUR OWN. SOME SURFACE RUST. I HAVE ALL THE WIREING PLEASE EMAIL FOR PICTURES I DIDNT HAVE ENOUGH ROOM, SO PLEASE ASK FOR ANY ADDITIONAL INFO YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE OR CALL 918-978-0155 IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ASK ABOUT ANYTHING I WILL BE GLAD TO TRY AND ANSWER IF I CAN LIKE I SAID I BOUGHT IT LIKE THIS AND JUST DONT HAVE THE TIME SO MY LOSS IS YOUR GAIN.

THIS IS AN AWESOME DEAL AND ITS EASY TO SEE THE TRUCK IS WORTH A LOT MORE THAN WHAT I AM STARTING IT AT . SO WHETHER YOU WANT TO BUY IT AND GET IT RUNNING TO RESELL OR TO KEEP FOR YOURSELF. ITS JUST MONEY IN THE BANK FOR YOU EITHER WAY. IT IS TRUELY A HEAD TURNER AND WOW WHAT A LADY GETTER!!!  THEY LOVE THE LOONY TOONS! THE CURENT COLOR IS A METALC SMOKEY GREY VERY NICE COLOR WITH MAROON INTERIOR TINTED WINDOWS. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS....

NHTSA investigating 500k Ford and Mercury cars for lighting failures

Mon, Apr 6 2015

The Ford Crown Victoria and Mercury Grand Marquis might be long gone as new models in showrooms, but the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration might check them out yet again for a potential problem. At the urging of North Carolina Consumers Council, the agency may open another investigation into the front lighting control module on vehicles from the 2003-2005 model years, and NHTSA estimates the issue could affect 517,945 vehicles. If the module stops working, it can cause a complete failure of all forward lighting, including the headlights. NHTSA previously investigated the issue in 2008 and 2009 but found no need for a recall, according to Bloomberg. Ford also extended the warranty on the part to 15 years or 250,000 miles. To prompt this new request, the North Carolina Consumers Council received a letter from a woman experiencing the module's failure. Upon further investigation, the council found 604 complaints of this problem on NHTSA's website, including seven crashes. Furthermore, the group has alleged that dealers told customers that the parts to perform the replacement weren't available, despite the extended warranty. According to the government agency, "A defect petition has been opened to evaluate the issue and make a grant or deny decision." Ford spokesperson Kelli Felker tells Autoblog via email, "We will cooperate with NHTSA, as we always do." You can read the council's complete letter to the Feds in PDF format, here. INVESTIGATION Subject : Loss of headlamp/exterior lighting Date Investigation Opened: APR 01, 2015 Date Investigation Closed: Open NHTSA Action Number: DP15002 Component(s): EXTERIOR LIGHTING All Products Associated with this Investigation Vehicle Make Model Model Year(s) FORD CROWN VICTORIA 2003-2005 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS 2003-2005 Details Manufacturer: Ford Motor Company SUMMARY: The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) has received a petition from the North Carolina Consumers Council, Inc. requesting a defect investigation of an alleged defect condition resulting in headlight and/or exterior lighting failure on 2003-2005 Ford Crown Victoria and Mercury Grand Marquis vehicles. The petition letter is attached for review. The petitioner alleges a defect in the lighting control module that powers the headlights which can result in the loss of vehicle headlights and/or all exterior lighting while driving. ODI has previously investigated this issue under PE08-066 which was closed without a defect finding.

Ford announces fix for 2021 Expedition and Lincoln Navigator fires

Sat, Jul 9 2022

In the middle of May, Ford announced a recall of around 39,000 Ford Expeditions and Lincoln Navigators from the 2021 model year due to fires starting under the hoods of the SUVs. At the time, Ford had received 16 incident reports, 14 of them happening with rental vehicles. The automaker cautioned owners to park their vehicles outside and away from structures while engineers figured out what was happening and how to fix the problem. Since that May announcement, five more fires have been reported, four of them rental vehicles, and there's been one burn injury. The company announced it understands the problem and has a fix, at the same time widening the scope of potentially affected vehicles. Instead of recalling 39,013 units built between December 1, 2020, and April 30, 2021, the recall now includes 66,221 vehicles assembled from July 27, 2020, to Aug. 31, 2021. The suspected culprit is a circuit board provided by a supplier that changed manufacturing location during the pandemic. Ford's press release on the matter stated that "circuit boards produced at this facility are uniquely susceptible to a high-current short." The affected vehicles are fitted with either an 800-watt or 700-watt cooling fan system. About a third of the recalled population are fitted with the former, and should get a quick fix at the dealer. On these SUVs, techs will inspect the battery junction box. If they find evidence of melting, they'll replace the whole box. If not, they'll simply remove the engine fan ground wire that runs to the battery junction box; since this ground relay is redundant, the change doesn't alter operation of the fans.  Owners with the 700-watt system might need to wait until September for a fix. These vehicles need an auxiliary relay box with a wire jumper, but the parts aren't available now.   Ford's notifying all owners via the FordPass app, and will follow up with owners of the 700-watt cooling system once the parts are in stock. Until their vehicles are fixed, Ford says the SUVs are safe to drive but that they should still be parked outside and away from structures. The somewhat mixed messaging — 'Yes, your cars are safe to drive, but they could catch fire so don't park them near anything flammable' — encouraged a group of owners to file suit against Ford. Owners with questions can contact Ford customer service at 866-436-7332 and reference recall No. 22S36.

2016 Ford Police Interceptor Utility shows up for duty in Chicago

Fri, Feb 13 2015

The latest upgrade for the 2016 Ford Police Interceptor Utility is all set to patrol the Windy City's streets with its debut at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show. On the outside, the revised Ford police vehicle looks basically the same as the recently refreshed Explorer with a new grille and redesigned headlights. Inside, there's a restyled steering wheel and center console. Unlike the civilian model, though, the PI Utility gets heavy-duty brakes, a more robust cooling system, reinforced subframe mounts and larger diameter suspension springs for more strength. Under the hood, police forces get to choose between either a 3.7-liter V6 with 304 horsepower and 279 pound-feet of torque or a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 with 365 hp and 350 lb-ft of twist. Regardless of powertrain, these 'utes feature a six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The transmission includes the awesome-sounding Pursuit Mode feature that switches over to more aggressive shifts when it detects harder driving to properly stop crime. Related Video:
