08 Ranger XL 2.3L DOHC engine w/ Automatic OD transmission that's been tweeked a bit.
Runs & drives great! safe & dependable transportation. Uses regular gas.
The mileage will increase until sold. - Mileage quoted is as of 8-4-2013.
I bought this when I owned a 08 Mini Cooper S model that needed many repairs off & on. This was my alt. transportation while getting it repaired. I sold the MINI and bought something new so this is now sitting most of the time and that's a shame since it drives so well.
I bought it at 293K in January of this year, and removed the engine & transmission after having it a short while. Both worked but the engine was really worn and I wanted a truck you could drive anywhere. In March I bought a 07 Engine w/50K from N. Carolina, and a Transmission w/Torque Converter from LKQ in Ontario that came out of a 09 Ranger with 29k. The Ranger engine runs & drives like it has only 50K on it at best, it's smooth shifting trans indicate the seller told me the truth. No leaks, overheating, or slipping from the trans, just good performance. New Plugs, coolant & 3 oil changes to date just to flush the engine well, not knowing it's total history. I used High detergent oil for 500 miles (that now becomes chain saw lube), semi synthetic for 2,000 miles, and currently, fully synthetic motor oil. The oil looks & smells new, it will always be good for 5000 + miles between changes, with good synthetic oil.
New Goodyear Wrangler Radial tires & new Cragar wheels with Chrome Center Caps & with all new TPMS clamps & sensors installed & working perfectly. 04/2013
Front brakes replaced last weekend 07/2013: Ceramic pads w/ drilled rotors-all new, bearings lubed with Mobil 1 synthetic grease, inside & out.
New windshield, wiper arms & wiper blades:) 04/2013 (it had a minor crack above the mirror & I replaced it to get full coverage insurance)
The front end parts appear fairly new, there was a history of minor impact & I suppose they had to replace the front end components & lights.
Re-cycled Gentex Auto-Dim rear view mirror installed:) 04/2103
HID headlamps 6000K
New OEM plugs & Wireset as well as a new Ign. Coil, TPS, and MAF sensor. 05/2013
New power window units:) 03/2013
Power door lock cylinders:) 03/2013
Remote Start, "THOR" 2 Way FM 3000 meter Keyless Entry/Alarm system:) Installed 04/2013 I've walked blocks from my car and started it using this exact same system-it's really long range. If someone messes with your truck, it can trigger the alarm on the truck, or, just notify you through the remote so that you can catch them in the act. It really works well. Has various settings including auto start in extremely cold weather.
New fuel pump assembly installed 05/2013.
New Battery, 01/2013
I suggest you come and see it before buying or bidding just to satisfy your own curiosity. I think it's a heck of a truck at the starting price, and I know I've spent more than that price, in getting it into this good of shape.
The pictures were taken today, without much prep, I will clean it up some before letting anyone pick it up and drive it home. If you want it shipped, you do the work and I'll work with your shipping agent to be available as needed.
Good luck, send questions if you have any and I'll respond ASAP.
Stan

Ford Shelby GT350R sets 7:32.19 Nurburgring lap time
Mon, Jan 26 2015It was over a year ago that the Chevy Camaro Z/28 clocked a Nurburgring lap time of 7 minutes and 37.47 seconds, propelling itself up the leader boards as the fastest American muscle car to lap the infamous Nordschleife. But now word has it that another piece of Detroit iron has clocked an even faster time. According to Evo, the new Ford Shelby GT350R Mustang has lapped the Green Hell in a blitzkrieg 7:32.19. That's more than five seconds faster than the Z/28, and propels the GT350R into proper supercar territory: incrementally quicker than the Ferrari 458 Italia and in league with lap times posted by the Nissan GT-R (though not the fastest Godzilla has clocked over the years). With output quoted at "more than 500 horsepower and more than 400 lb-ft of torque," and no 0-60, quarter-mile or top end figures revealed to date, this marks the first genuine measure of performance we've seen for the track-focused pony car - though the numbers have yet to be officially confirmed. The GT350R packs a 5.2-liter V8 unburdened by 130 pounds of excess weight – helped along by carbon-fiber wheels coated in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rubber. Related Video:
Translogic 174: Ford envisions the future of parking
Tue, Apr 14 2015Translogic visits Georgia Tech for a glimpse at the future of parking. First, we demo the Ford remote parking program by driving a golf cart around campus from the comfort of an off-site lab; think of remote parking as a virtual valet. Then we see how Ford's "parking spotter" works, a crowd-sourced way of finding an open space. Along the way, Translogic host Jonathon Buckley chats with Ford's global director of vehicle electrification and infrastructure, who explains how these innovative parking concepts could help us get around more efficiently. Have an RSS feed? Click here to add Translogic. Follow Translogic on Twitter and Facebook. Click here to learn more about our host, Jonathon Buckley. VIDEO TRANSCRIPT Jonathon: You turn the wheel and the cart turns the wheel because we've got to remember that the carts 150 meters down that way. I should use yards because I'm not in Australia any more. Welcome to Translogic. I'm Jonathon Buckley. Every year in this country we spend over 70 million hours looking for parking. We think that's a pretty miserable way to spend that time but Ford Motor Company and Georgia Tech have taken this problem head on by developing a parking spotter experiment and some pretty cool remote driving functions to go with it. When it comes to remote vehicle repositioning, you guys have been so far using golf carts?Mike: That's right.Jonathon: What's the goal with this type of technology?Mike: As you probably know, car sharing is becoming one of the emerging trends in mobility. With that, any type of sharing program that we looked at around the world, one of the common challenges it has is that during the end of the day, or the nighttime hours, there's something that has to happen to get all the assets back to where they need to be for the next day. Cell phone technology and broadband technologies have advanced so far that we can remotely control a vehicle from anywhere it the world. For example, we could actually take this and create a virtual valet. You and your significant other pull up to, say, a restaurant. You could potentially get out of the vehicle and then the call center could take your vehicle and park it for you. You wouldn't need to do anything [00:02:00] else other than arrive at the restaurant.Jonathon: The whole thing's pretty intuitive. It works exactly as you imagine a golf cart would work. The only difference that there really is is there's just a little bit of latency that you have to account for.
Lewis Hamilton owns 15 cars, uses tow trucks to keep the mileage low
Thu, Aug 2 2018No matter how you feel about Lewis Hamilton off the track, it's impossible not to respect his talent behind the wheel. Currently, Hamilton is the second most successful Formula One driver of all time. His 67 wins and four championships place him only behind Michael Schumacher's 91 wins and seven championships. With all those winnings, Hamilton has racked up a decent personal fortune, much of which he uses to buy cars. Except he doesn't drive them quite as much as you might think. According to The Sunday Times, Hamilton's net worth of just over $207 million makes him one of the richest sports figures in the UK, just behind David Beckham. In a recent interview with the British newspaper, Hamilton gave some details on his personal car collection. His first car was a used Mini Cooper, soon followed by a Mercedes-Benz C200. Both have long since been replaced by a pair of original Shelby Cobras, a 1967 Shelby GT500, a Ferrari 599 SA Aperta, two LaFerraris (a red coupe and a white Aperta), a McLaren P1 and a Pagani Zonda 760 equipped with a manual transmission. All in, Hamilton has about 15 cars split between homes in Monaco and Los Angeles. Unsurprisingly, he has a Mercedes-AMG Project One ( a car that shares more than a little with his F1 W09 EQ Power+ race car) on the way. Hamilton has some hot takes on his personal collection. "The Zonda is terrible to drive," he said. "It's the best-sounding car I own, but handling-wise it's the worst. I got it in manual because I didn't like the tiptronic version. The tiptronic Pagani offered was worse than the Smart Roadster I had." He also says his Shelby Mustang is a "beautiful car, but a heap of junk." In order to keep the miles down (and valuations up), Hamilton apparently has a tow truck on retainer in Los Angeles. When he's finished driving one of his Ferraris, he'll have the car towed back to his place. Classic cars are becoming a solid and serious investment, and Hamilton doesn't want to squander his wealth like some other athletes. That said, there are a couple more cars Hamilton would love to own, including a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL (the one with the gullwing doors) and a Ferrari 250GT California Spyder (the one from "Ferris Bueller's Day Off").
