Relisting due to non performing winning bidder of original auction ,1988 Ford Ranger extended cab pickup, shows166,000 miles (odometer and speedometer do work),runs well good transportation 4 wheel drive automatic, aluminum bed cover.useable and driveable as is.a/c does not blow cold, heat works fine, all windows work and doors lock, radio and all lights work as they should. Seems a little slow going into reverse sometimes when first started Tires are good,no smoke from engine, drives and handles well.Interior does not leak water ,no tears on seats,non-smoker vehicle, one owner last 30 years. There is a small, old crack at the bottom of passenger side of the windshield .radio and all lights work, yes you can drive it home.Overall just good basic transportation made great for hauling with the bed cover.Sold as is,this is basic transportation but in reasonable condition for the price driveable and on the road now without any work as it sits(don't have to be jump started, add fluids every day or anything like that)but I am sure that in the future some things will need to be done, like any vehicle.I cannot take any trades. If you have any questions please ask before bidding, winning bid is to buy and not a chance to come kick tires. Please read the terms of purchase and be prepared to abide by them.I would like to sell this truck to someone that really needs a vehicle and will follow thru on their winning bid.

Thieves still love older Hondas and pickups most, says NICB [w/video]
Wed, 20 Aug 2014No one wants to have their car stolen, but a new study by the National Insurance Crime Bureau has some bad news for older Honda owners and pickup drivers. Fortunately, it has better news for drivers overall. The group is reporting that according to preliminary data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, thefts were down 3.2 percent in 2013 (versus 2012) to fewer than 700,000 cars. That's the lowest figure since 1967. That's also less than half of the peak of over 1.66 million thefts in 1991. "The drop in thefts is good news for all of us," says NICB President and CEO Joe Wehrle. "But it still amounts to a vehicle being stolen every 45 seconds and losses of over $4 billion a year."
Honda drivers might not find it such good news with older Accord and Civic models topping this year's theft study. Toyota and Dodge can't really celebrate, either, with two models each on the list, as well. Overall, this year's list was split evenly between foreign and domestic models, which were mostly pickups.
The 10 most likely vehicles to be stolen in 2013 were:
Ford to add Android Auto and CarPlay to 2016 SYNC 3 cars via update
Fri, May 19 2017Ford is updating a large number of 2016 model year cars equipped with SYNC 3 infotainment software, adding Android Auto and CarPlay to the vehicles with a free, over-the-air update via Wi-Fi, or using either USB or going through their dealer. The upgrade will be available for around 800,000 vehicles in total, giving a huge number of Ford car owners the chance to get big infotainment improvements without having to buy a newer model car. The OTA update option is also a big step for Ford – it's the company's first for software ever, and it's one of the major reasons that Ford recently hired around 400 new mobile smartphone engineers, the company tells me. For CarPlay, users will still also need to upgrade their vehicle's USB hub to make this work (which will also incur a dealer visit and a cost), but for those on Android, all that's required is a simple software installation. The USB install method is also faster, but the Wi-Fi update option is the start of the company's efforts to really increase its OTA update program, which will be used for security improvements as well as infotainment bumps. Even with a dealer visit and hardware upgrade for CarPlay, this sounds like a worthwhile thing for 2016 vehicle owners to do. CarPlay and Android Auto are huge upgrades vs. most in-car software, offering navigation and entertainment options that follow you from your phone to your car. Retroactively offering this kind of thing to car owners is a definite change in tone for carmakers, since they typically use these kinds of things as incentives to get people interested in vehicle model updates. But as data becomes increasingly important to automakers as a business, it makes sense to encourage greater in-car use of devices.Written by Darrell Etherington for TechCrunchRelated Video: Auto News Ford Lincoln Technology Infotainment android
