Buffalo, New York, United States
1959 FORD RANCHERO SIXTIES KUSTOM "WATSON" -STYLE
Up for auction is a recently-built period-proper FORD RANCHERO Done in the early-sixties, mild show & street custom style, it incorporates numerous, yet tasteful styling touches, such as tunneled tail lamps, lake pipe shrouds, nosed hood with scoop, lowering, frenched antenna and of course many rolls/ pleats in white vinyl. Finished in a Bronze finish with Aztec Gold scallops, the front bumper is from a 1960 Impala, and front/ rear have been replated. The Y-Block runs well & is coupled to a same year automatic transmission. New, vintage style chrome reverse rims, Spyder center caps & newer wide white radials on all four corners. It fires right up, and has duals with mellow glass packs. Much was spent on this cruiser, while not a show car it IS an eye-catching reliable Kustom, all lights work, yet the gas gauge & speedo are not operable at this time. The horn & turn signals function and the wipers are the old-school vacuum variety. Have one vehicle too many, so this is being sold to make needed room. NOTE, that this is being sold for an acquaintance, Any further info, questions, you can CALL GREG @ 716- FIVE-7-0- 4-7-3-3 EST. **** ALSO note that this is being listed LOCALLY, so we reserve the right to end auction early if reserve is not met. Car is housed inside for time being & we can make it readily available for you or your preferred shipper to access it. BEST OF LICK BIDDING ON THIS RANCHERO, Regardless of your talents, you would be hard-pressed to duplicate the many features and expenditures on this one-of-a- kind ride. A reasonable reserve is in place... THANK YOU for your interest. |

Ford dealers offered discounts on tools to fix aluminum
Mon, 27 Jan 2014With the introduction of the aluminum-bodied 2015 Ford F-150 (and the likely use of aluminum in future Ford products), Ford is looking to help its dealerships reduce costs related to repairing this more labor-intensive material. Automotive News is reporting that Ford dealers with body shops will require an estimated $30,000 to $50,000 in equipment and training to work on aluminum, and to help alleviate the financial burden of the new F-150, Ford has announced a special 20-percent discount on this equipment.
Dealers will be able to save up to $10,000 on tools such as welders, air-filtration systems and rivet guns and to create aluminum-specific work stations. The new F-150 goes on sale in the fourth quarter, and dealers have until October 31 to take advantage of this deal, according to the report.
Ford Australia pulls the ol' talking car prank
Mon, 07 Apr 2014Siri from Apple has proven that being able to talk to your technology doesn't always work perfectly. But what if it could eventually go far enough to give a personality to inanimate objects like our cars? Ford took just this path to comedic effect by playing a prank on many unsuspecting Australians, in a new commercial for its EcoSport compact crossover.
The Aussies seem very nonchalant about having a random parked car talk to them, and they seem surprisingly game when it asks them to get in, call a celebrity and tell a joke. (We're guessing there are some hilarious outtakes, too.) Scroll down to watch some folks from Down Under have a conversation with Ford's CUV.
Ford profiles surprisingly affluent Focus ST buyers
Fri, 08 Nov 2013It comes as no surprise when Ford says that 32-percent of Focus ST buyers are under 35, but we weren't expecting this: the average annual salary of Focus ST buyers is $127,000. Twenty-two percent of non-ST Focus buyers are under 35, while their average annual salary is $67,000.
We like the Focus ST because it has 252 horsepower, is genuinely fun to drive and offers great value for performance-minded car enthusiasts; facts that are not lost on customers, it seems. Ford says that the Focus ST has the highest percentage of conquest sales for a non-hybrid model it sells, and that the top-four trade-ins are from Honda, Chevrolet, Mazda and Toyota. Demand for the hot Focus is strongest in Los Angeles, Detroit, Houston and Orlando.
"[The Focus ST is] having this kind of halo effect for other vehicles we'd hoped for when we invested in the ST brand," says John Felice, vice president of US marketing, sales and service, because it's helping to boost sales of other Ford vehicles.
