Well f1 guys.... I'm am selling a pretty neat 1948 pickup. The truck has been 95% restored approx 7 years ago. Then stored inside until I purchased it in spring. I was very impressed with the overall workmanship, new steel box complete with new tailgate, new fiberglass fenders front and rear. Also new glass running boards as well. Being a Wisconsin truck I was concerned about rust in the cab. To my surprise the owner had the cab replaced with a cab from an old fire truck cab. No rust. The paint is nice, not perfect and not a 15k job, but nice, color sanded and buffed. New wiring harness and a lot of other parts were part of the restoration. Ex. King pins etc. Along with a freshening of the engine, not sure to what degree. Runs well no smoke.
I'm selling this truck...... It's going. I have committed to purchase a 66 vette, this is your chance to purchase this before it goes to the dealer I bought the car from. The facts. Please understand this is a nice, and neat truck, not junk.... But not ready for a 500 mile tour either. It needs some tlc The brakes were new seem to work well Under carriage has been cleaned and painted with a rust conversion product Overall nice glass and rubber seals New wire harness, factory style not a universal kit I drove it numerous times, locally Once or twice the solenoid on the fire wall stuck. I'm sure from sitting. Shifts like and old floor shift. Truck needs Front bumper Refinish wood in the box was new when restored, to look new again Rubber floor mat or carpet if you choose The letters ford for the nose A lot of the missing stainless not on the truck goes with, was never reinstalled Inner door panel gone drivers side. Probably all new fluids and fuel as well Wing window frames are rusting through the chrome. Tires are nice rims showing their age And the unknown we all know about. Headliner is sagging, horn button gone" With very little investment of time or money this truck would run along side any other f1 in the 18-23k range Truck must go this week . |

2019 Chicago Auto Show photo gallery: All of the grilles
Fri, Feb 8 2019Do you like trucks? How about grilles? Like really big, shiny, chromey, in-your-face, could-be-made-by-Broil-King grilles? Well, the Chicago Auto Show is the place to be. Traditionally known as the truck show of the annual auto show circuit (at least those covered by national media), Chicago has what seems like a small national park's worth of acreage devoted to both consumer and commercial trucks. From humble extended cab Ford Rangers to a mammoth F-650 with cherry picker sprouting from its aft quarters, there's bound to be a truck for everything. And they all have grilles. So above is our gallery devoted to them, because hell, why not? Should you want to know about the trucks attached to those grilles, check out our coverage below. Translogic 180: Zombie 222 Electric '68 Mustang
Wed, Jul 15 2015Translogic heads to Austin, TX for a chance to drive the all-electric Zombie 222, a 1968 Ford Mustang converted by Mitch Medford and his team at Blood Shed Motors. "I wanted to start a company that would do nothing but specialize in converting vintage iconic cars into supercars," said Medford. The Zombie 222 has classic looks, but modern performance with over 800 horsepower and 1,800 ft-lbs of torque, making it the fastest electric car we've ever driven on Translogic. Those mind-blowing specs helped the Zombie 222 conquer the Texas Mile, setting the electric speed record at 174.2 miles per hour. "The Zombie 222 has been breaking electric records, said Medford. "Now it's time to break records—gas or electric." Next up for Medford and his Zombie 222 is a Kickstarter-funded attempt at 200 miles per hour. But first, we take a turn behind the wheel. Ford Shelby GT350 shows off HUD shift light [w/video]
Thu, Jul 23 2015We're getting pretty geeked about the upcoming Ford Shelby GT350 as Ford continues the slow trickle of news about the upcoming Mustang track beast. To review: 526 horspower, optional carbon-fiber wheels, and a wicked exhaust note from the flat-plane crank V8. And the latest piece is a programmable shift light that projects onto the windshield The head-up display, officially called Performance Shift Light Indicator, throws a line of amber lights in front of the driver's line of sight. Chevrolet uses a similar system on Camaro and Corvette models with an optional head-up display. While the GM HUD offers additional information like vehicle speed and a tachometer, the Ford system is more customizable. Depending on which of three modes, the lights flash in different patterns: Tach mode moves left to right, Track mode moves from the outside to the end until it makes a solid line, and Drag mode flashes all the light when the rpm limit is his. On the Shelby, the Performance Shift Light Indicator settings are programmed through menus in the instrument cluster's multifunction display. Stay tuned for more GT350 news next week, and check out the full press release below. View 6 Photos Ford Shelby GT350 Gets Racing-Inspired Customizable Shift Light Indicator to Help Drivers Optimize Track Time • Shelby GT350® Mustang features Performance Shift Light Indicator display with Track, Tach and Drag mode • Performance Shift Light Indicator provides the benefits of a shift light while allowing drivers to keep their eyes on the track at all times • Heads-up shift light was developed by reimagining existing hardware and is standard on all-new Shelby GT350 and Shelby® GT350R DEARBORN, Mich., July 23, 2015 – When driving the high-revving, 526-horsepower Shelby GT350® Mustang, drivers would do best to keep eyes on the road. So that's where Ford put the Performance Shift Light Indicator. For decades, race drivers have used shift lights that signal the perfect engine speed for the shift point for maximum acceleration and lower lap times during the intensity of on-track driving. Shift lights allow drivers to concentrate on the road in front of them rather than watching a tachometer. However, most shift lights either obscure the forward field of view or are located low in the instrument cluster where the driver must look down to see it. The Performance Shift Light Indicator is a heads-up display located in front of the driver.
