CHECK OUT THIS GREAT FIND!

Being a mechanic for more than 40 years, I can say that this is the most SOLID, TIGHT 1951 Pickup I have ever found. The undercarriage is solid and rust free as you can see in the pictures of the bed.  The boards were being taken out to be refinished, to give them a shine and did not get done.  So I left them off, that way you could get a look at how clean the body underside is.

This truck was restored approximately 9-10yrs ago... Then was put in a garage for several years.  I rescued it, dusted it off, put in some gas and a new battery.  Then started it up, it runs and sounds AWESOME!

When the motor was reconditioned, replacement parts were as follows:  NEW DISTRIBUTOR, NEW STARTER SOLENOID, NEW VOLTAGE REGULATOR AND RECONDITIONED GENERATOR.

As far as I can tell the needs it has are:  A new water pump (this one leaks), and a new starter (this one drags sometimes).

The body of the truck looks terrific in the sun or light of any kind for that matter.  All of the rubber around the windows and doors has been replaced with new.  The wheels ( KEYSTONE RAIDERS) and tires are in good condition.  The paint job could use just a little TLC, as you can see in the pics, there are a few spots that were not prepped very good~ so the paint has bubbled in a few spots and you can see it has started a little surface rusting.  Some sanding and touchup would easily take care of that.   The running boards, cab, bed, tailgate, and rear fenders are rust free and the most solid and tight I've ever seen!

Inside the cab, the seat and door panels are recovered with a matching blue and white. VERY NICELY DONE.

I have set a very LOW RESERVE on this truck...comparing it to others I've seen in the last few months, if it sells for under $12,000 you can consider it stolen from me, LOL...

The truck is on a 10 day auction but could end early due to the fact that it is also advertised locally.  If you are a serious bidder... PLEASE, FEEL FREE TO CALL ME with any questions.   636-667-1000

Happy Bidding!

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

Toyota tops Kelley Blue Book's Resale Value Awards

Tue, 27 Nov 2012

Kelley Blue Book announced its annual Best Resale Value Award winners, and we weren't too surprised to see the list dominated by Japanese automakers - mainly Toyota and Honda. KBB hands out the awards based on the projected residual value of mostly all 2013 model year vehicles, and Toyota skated home with a number of awards including 10 of the 22 overall categories and having five of its products in the top 10 for models with best resale value. KBB's Best Resale Value Awards were announced in the same week as the ALG Residual Value Awards, and there were many similarities between both lists, especially when it came to Toyota.
To come up with its winners, KBB measures depreciation over the first five years of ownership, and looks for the cars it expects to hold its value the best after this time; on average, the report says the 2013 model year vehicles will lose 61.8 percent of its value in five years. Of the 22 categories, 15 slots were filled by Toyota, Honda and Nissan products, while the Camaro and Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) each took home a pair of awards. If Toyota has anything to be upset about in this list of cars, it's that categories for Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car and Electric Vehicle went to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Volt, respectively.
The overall top 10 models for the best resale value in 2013 are, in alphabetical order:

Ford Claims Focus As World's Best-Selling Car For Second Year In A Row

Mon, Jan 27 2014

Ford Motor Co. has claimed its Focus sedan beat out the Toyota Corolla for the title of 'best-selling car in the world' for the second year in a row. The declaration was based on independent sales figures from January to September of 2013, according to USA Today. Last year, Ford used data from the analysis firm Polk to support its claim of having the best-selling car of 2012. Toyota objected, stating the Corolla sold more units. The numbers eventually showed that the Ford Focus was the best selling nameplate of the year, but may have been second to the Toyota sedan overall since multiple variations of the Corolla are sold under different nameplates around the world. Data from the analysis firm R.L. Polk found Focus registrations from January through September 2013 reached 856,587. Ford can thank booming car sales in China, where the automaker sold 303,481 units, for a sizable chunk of that number, which was a 16 percent increase over 2012. "Our success with Focus is the result of Ford's connection to our customers all over the world," said Jim Farley, an executive vice president at Ford. The Focus and Corolla both compete in the popular small sedan segment, along with other hot-selling cars like the Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra and Chevrolet Cruze. These vehicles make a up a large portion of sales for their respective automakers, as they tend to hit a sweet spot for many consumers, coming with a starting sticker price under $20,000, solid fuel economy, plenty of cargo and passenger room and, lately, sharp exterior design and sportier driving dynamics. Watch this awesome R/C car chase scene made with cardboard and glue

Fri, 22 Feb 2013

It never ceases to amaze us how much video production talent you can find on YouTube, especially when considering movies like Battleship actually exist on the silver screen. It's even better, of course, when cars are involved, which is why we can't stop watching this car chase between a pair of radio controlled Ford Mustangs.
Racing through a detailed set built in the middle of a public street using just "cardboard, hot glue and spray paint," this video is possibly even greater than The Greatest R/C Car Chase Ever that we saw last year. With the exception of a fruit stand and/or a plate-glass window being carried across the street, this has all the makings of a classic cliché chase scene.
Scroll down to watch the scaled-down action ensue as well as the full-scale conclusion.
