1946 Ford Pickup.  It is a two-wheel drive pickup with the classic flared fenders and wide running boards.

Has modern suspension which lowers the truck approximately 3-4 inches from original. Has a two-tone paint scheme which is black and gold.  The paint is fair and would need to be redone at some point.  Only body work needed is on right rear fender which has 2 cracks welded.  Otherwise the body is straight.  The fender welds would need to be smoothed prior to paint.  Body, fenders and running boards are all steel.  You can actually step on the running boards!  Has had an entire new dash installed.  Currently set up with bucket seats.

Speedometer needs hooked up as does the fuel gauge in the new instrument cluster.  Currently does not have a headliner but could use one.  The truck runs very well and is equipped with a 350 Oldsmobile motor and a turbo 350 transmission behind it.  It is daily driven at this time. The tires are 80-90%.  Steering is tight with no slop.   The side windows could be replaced since they have cracks in them.  They role up and down no problem.  I usually have them down anyway due to the warm weather.

This truck is perfect for those car shows that are still coming up or for someone who wants to cruise around in an older truck.

This unique '64 Mustang was Edsel Ford II's first car

Thu, 02 Jan 2014

You probably had the same dream when you were a teenager. Your sixteenth birthday is coming up, or Christmas, or maybe both, and all you want is a muscle car to call your own. That dream has come true for some, and one of them was none other than Edsel Ford II.
Henry Ford's great grandson turned 16 on December 27, 1964 - two days after Christmas and eight months after the original Mustang went on sale. And that's just what was waiting for him in the driveway, courtesy of his father (and reigning chief executive) Henry Ford II.
The specially-prepared pony car had a pearlescent cream paintjob with narrow blue racing stripes, functional hood scoop, chrome trim, Euro-spec fender-mounted mirrors, a blue leather and aluminum interior, a monogrammed fuel cap... and a 289-cubic-inch V8 under the hood.

Uber hopes facilities in Detroit will help shape its autonomous future

Mon, Sep 19 2016

Hot off the heels of unleashing its fleet of self-driving vehicles in Pittsburgh, PA, Uber announced plans to open a new facility in the Detroit, MI area, reports Automotive News. The new facility was announced at an event hosted by Society of Automotive Engineers in Detroit, MI. Uber's vice president of global vehicle programs Sherif Marakby revealed the news, reports Automotive News. The facility is meant to help the ride-sharing company collaborate with suppliers and automakers in the area. There's no word on where Uber will build the new facility or how big it will be, as those factors have yet to be determined. Just like Pittsburgh, PA, Detroit, MI could become another testing ground for the ride-sharing company. The latest move to open a facility in the Detroit area comes after Uber offered users in Pittsburgh the chance to ride in one of its autonomous vehicle as it looks to gain vital real-world testing. Uber is utilizing a fleet of modified Ford Fusions. Earlier this year in April, the automaker announced a partnership with Google, Lyft, Uber, and Volvo to develop autonomous cars. A new facility in Detroit would strengthen the partnership and help Uber, as well as Ford put autonomous vehicles on the road faster. 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid recalled over lack of roof padding

Mon, 29 Jul 2013

Ford is recalling 33,021 units of its 2013 C-Max Hybrid not equipped with optional panoramic roof panels. During testing, the model in question returned testing results for occupant head injuries that fell outside of criteria laid out in the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard. The issue puts occupants at greater risk of injury in the event of a crash if they are in an affected car.
The recall will begin August 19, at which time C-Max Hybrid owners can take their cars to dealers to have energy-absorbent material installed between the headliner and roof. The bulletin below from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has more information.
