1934 Ford Truck, This old Ford has spent more time in storage that on the road. As a result it is in considerably better condition than most unrestored old trucks you will find, it is on the big truck chassis, but all the body parts with the exception of the running boards are the same as a pick-up truck. The body with the exception of the door bottoms is in very good condition. Somehow this truck survived the years without getting all beat up and rusted. The rust in the bottom of the doors resulted from mouse nests in the doors while it was in storage. The doors at present have factory made 7" patch panels temporaly pop riveted in place, fine for a rat rod, but additional work would be required for a good restoration, or better quality rod. There are now door skins available that go all the way up to the body line in the door. I was told complete door skins are also available, but I have not been able to confirm that. The front fenders have no rust holes or rips, and very few dents. The running boards are like NOS. The hood and grill shell still have most of there original paint. The radiator, seat and some trim are missing. I do have the stainless trim for around the grill. The truck is otherwise amazingly complete including all 4 hub caps and the spare tire holder hardware. The engine and transmission are in the truck and look to be original and complete. The wheels are in good condition but the tires are old and dry. The windshield is cracked, but the other glass is OK. The top of the hood has a dent, the cab is very straight. In my opinion this truck would be a great start for a restoration or neat rod. The steel is a whole lot better as is than many "Rat Rods" I have seen. I do not have a title for this truck, E-Bay required the field to be filled in. I have register many old cars and trucks over the years that had no paper work, it can be frustrating, but not really that hard to do. I am including a picture of my 32 Ford Truck Rod, I found the 32 a Hershey and it was closer to completion than the 34. They are about the some body and buying the 32 is the reason I have decided to offer the 34 for sale. Ask questions or make an appointment to see the truck, McLean is between Cortland and Ithaca in central NY.

I had trouble loading pictures, I will try to add more later.
I took new pictures today and have added them to the listing, They show pin holes on inside of door bottoms, and PA license plate covering larger hole. There is one 1/4 inch tear in the drivers side fender near the mounting bolt, no rips in the bead. Picture of back of cab shows stress cracks where cab bottom has rested on the frame after the wood in the cab mounts got soft. The louvers in the hood sides are in good shape.Hope this helps.

Ford GT heading back to Le Mans [w/video]
Fri, Jun 12 2015Ford is set to return to endurance sports car racing, and return in a big way. Announced this morning at Le Mans, the Blue Oval will be entering a version of the new Ford GT in endurance racing series on both sides of the Atlantic. The highly accomplished Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates team will field the Ford GT next season in the LM GTE Pro class in both the FIA World Endurance Championship and in the United SportsCar Championship, culminating in a four-car entry at next year's 24 Hours of Le Mans. That will mark the 50th anniversary of Ford's landmark victory at Le Mans in 1966. The pivotal, dominant one-two-three finish lead to a further three back-to-back wins with the legendary GT40 - the historic progenitor of the new GT revealed in Detroit earlier this year. Ford isn't saying much about the technical specs underpinning the new competition-spec GT developed with Multimatic, but it's expected to follow closely along the lines of the road-going supercar we've already seen. That includes the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 developed in conjunction with Roush Yates and which has already proven a winner in Daytona Prototypes. We also know that the crazy diffuser you see here will be part of 2016's regulations. Look for the new Ford GT racer to mark its debut in January in the Rolex 24 at Daytona. In the meantime, you can scope it out in the high-resolution image gallery above, the video below and the press release at bottom. This content is hosted by a third party. Seinfeld's Porsches, '61 Ferrari lead the way at Gooding Amelia Island sale
Tue, Mar 1 2016If you're in the market for a sports car with celebrity provenance or just an incredibly well-preserved high-performance machine, then you'll want to check out Gooding & Company's Amelia Island auction in Florida on March 11. The highlight of the sale is likely 18 cars, mostly Porsches, from Jerry Seinfeld's collection, but there's more to see than just the comedian's sporting metal. While several of Seinfeld's cars carry auction estimates in the millions, they aren't the most valuable at the sale. That honor falls on a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider, which could sell for between $15 million and $17 million. This one is among the 37 examples with covered headlights, and it has some theatrical provenance after appearing in the Sophia Loren film Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow. If your tastes skew more American, then one of 31 Ford GT40 MKI road cars is also among the lots. Gooding expects the rare coupe to sell for between $3.2 million and $3.6 million. Ford originally used this GT40 for dealer promotions, but it eventually fell into private hands. Even today, its multiple owners have only covered around 3,200 miles in it. Gooding also expects a 1931 Duesenberg Model J Disappearing-Top Convertible Coupe with a body by Murphy to bring $2.5 million to $3 million. The auction house claims this might be the "most original" example left because of a history of owners who kept it for long periods – and the vehicle never needed a complete restoration. Some lots carry more attainable estimates like $35,000 for a 1962 MGA. You can check out all the listings on Gooding's online catalog and some of the highlights in the gallery above. You've probably read the news about Seinfeld's Porsches, but here's a refresher: The collection includes amazing cars like a 550 Spyder, 917/30 Can-Am Spyder, and a 718 RSK. Related Video:
How Ford secretly used customers to test its aluminum F-150 [w/video]
Fri, 30 May 2014Automakers getting clever about disguising development vehicles isn't anything new. Between mules wearing the sheetmetal of other cars and prototypes decked out in as much camouflage as is practical, automakers know how to make it very difficult for the general public to get an exact idea of what kind of vehicle is in development. Ford, though, is rapidly becoming the master.
We knew that the Blue Oval originally tested the durability of the aluminum construction being used for the 2015 F-150 by building an all-aluminum 2014 truck and entering it in the Baja 1000 off-road race. That's no longer a secret. What we didn't know, though, is that the aluminum development dates back to before even that, and that some of the people in question had no idea what it was they were working with.
Ford says this is the first time prototypes have ever been handed over to the public.
