I am selling my beautiful t-bucket due to back problems.  If it's not painted, chromed or powder-coated it's not on this car.  Built from scratch by professionals, every expense was taken to make this car look, run and ride like it should.  Over 25K in parts alone and we all know how much labor costs these days.  Only the best parts were used and the pictures speak for themselves.  Everything works and there are no leaks.  Only 3500 miles on build.  Paint is Chevy's 2011 Synergy Green and it's in perfect condition -- no chips or cracks.  The undercarriage is as clean as the car.  It's always been garaged & I'm not a smoker.  Here are a few more specs:

  • 350 Chevy crate motor with cam and gear drive
  • TH-350 transmission
  • 9" Ford rear end w/Dutchman 3rd member
  • 31 spline alloy axles
  • 3.70 ratio
  • Wilwood disc brakes, front and back
  • 2000-2300 stall speed torque converter
  • Superior radiator
  • Lokar shifter
  • Edelbrock manifold and carborator
  • VDO electronic gauges
  • Mallory Unilite distributor
  • Radir 12 spoke front wheels
  • 31 x 16.50 Hoosier pro-street tires with ET 5-spoke mags
  • Rear airbag suspension
  • Custom leather interior
Also included in auction is some extra carpet, paint and a set of brand new front tires.

I'm happy to answer any other questions you may have.  You can message me (Pat) here or give me a call at 626.457.5705.

This 1969 Ford F-100 has a Cadillac CTS-V engine lurking underhood

Fri, Jan 30 2015

Something always feels just a little taboo when someone builds a custom and then slots in a powertrain from a rival automaker. That's exactly the case with this modded 1969 Ford F-100 boasting a highly tuned LSA supercharged V8 like from the second-gen Cadillac CTS-V. However, with a claimed 800 horsepower on tap thanks in part to running an estimated 20 pounds of boost, it's easy to get over any bad feelings. Built by Tommy Pike Customs in South Carolina, the truck tries to keep the exterior looking somewhat stock. Although, the jade green and satin gold paint, Quaker State logo, lowered suspension and black wheels immediately suggest something is up. Once the F-100 starts up with its menacing growl, absolutely any doubts of this beast being unaltered are immediately gone. Not so obvious are some tweaks to actually help put all that power down, including disc brakes and independent suspension setups at the front and rear. The video gives some glimpses at a few of Pike's other creations, but the real star here is definitely his mean, green Ford.

Question of the Day: Worst year of the Malaise Era?

Thu, Jun 23 2016

The Malaise Era for cars in the United States spanned the 1973 through 1983 model years, and featured such abominations as a Corvette with just 205 horsepower (from the optional engine!) and MGBs with suspensions jacked way up to meet new headlight-height requirements. There were many low points throughout this gloomy period, of course. The horrifyingly low power and fuel-economy numbers for big V8s during the middle years of the Malaise Era make a strong case for 1974 or 1975— the years of Nixon's resignation and the Fall of Saigon, respectively— as the most Malaisey years. But then the GM-pummeling debacles of the Chevy Citation and Cadillac Cimarron could make an early-1980s year the low point. 1979, the year of the ignominious Chrysler bailout? You choose! Highlights and standouts from the 2015 LA Auto Show

Thu, Nov 19 2015

This year's LA Auto Show has been packed with interesting debuts and fascinating industry trends. The Autoblog team is on the scene to examine all the new metal, and Senior Editor Greg Migliore has some show highlights for us in the video above. In particular, the new Fiat 124 Spider and Honda Civic Coupe stand out as important debuts. The Fiat is based on the excellent Mazda Miata, with a turbocharged 1.4-liter engine and revised styling. The Civic Coupe is a striking redesign of an extremely popular and important model for the company. And the restyled Ford Escape looks more like its bigger brother, the Explorer. There's this an much more in our video above. Watch it and let us know what you think – and look for more LA Auto Show coverage coming soon.
