I am selling my garage queen to hopefully make room for a GT-R in the near future.  This car is a dream, in phenomenal shape, and drives like a beast.  I bought this car brand new, broke the engine in the correct way, and took it Daytona and had the Ford dealership install it and the boost gage.  I drove it to work for a while so that is where the mileage comes from. (55 miles all interstate round trip)  There are ZERO issues with this car and none of my friends want me to sell her, but I have had fun with her and its time for my loss to be your gain.  I have had zero issues with the car, and never have taken it in on a warranty claim.  It has had full synthetic since the first oil change and Lucas also to prevent start up wear and tear.  The set-up I have is very safe and there is easily a ton more miles in this car.   Car is a stock premium 5.0 6 speed manual with tons of extras I had either installed by the factory or added on myself.

Here are the extras:
Dyno'd at 556 rwhp and 490 ft lbs torque with sheet in hand.
HID headlamps
Razzi Ground Effects Kit
Oracle LED's in the fog lights. (looks AMAZING) (Switch in the car by the E-brake handle)
Roush TVS 2300 blower at 12psi. (The WHOLE KIT)
Black 20" Lorenzo Rims and Falken tires
Ford Racing illuminated boost gage in driver side A/C vent
Black 5.0 hood stripes
Black 5.0 side decals
Shaker Hood
Spoiler
JL Audio 13's in recessed enclosure which still allows FULL access to spare tire and tons of trunk room.(Subs are <6 months old) (Bass knob is      next to ORACLE switch)
Roush Axle back exhaust

On Mar-31-13 at 15:53:14 PDT, seller added the following information:

One thing I forgot was to mention that there are ZERO defects with the leather interior.  The back seat has been sat in maybe five or six times and the driver seat is still in perfect condition.  No tears or cracking.  Also the windows are tinted and the car is emissions satisfactory.  If you have any questions about the car email me.  ALSO I WILL HAVE A PAYPAL ACCOUNT BY THE TIME THE AUCTION IS OVER SINCE MOST PEOPLE USE THAT, SO I WILL ACCEPT PAYPAL.  Also, If the car does not sell I am open to discussing buying the vehicle at a slightly reduced price if you do not want the rims and tires or the sound system.  I have the stock 19' upgrade rims and Pirelli tires that came with the car in MINT condition.

The U-2 spy plane needs high-performance cars to help land

Thu, Oct 15 2015

Typically, aircraft deploy their landing gear from three main points. Most military aircraft, for example, deploy two gears at the back and one forward, like a tricycle. Some civilian aircraft flip the layout, with two in front and one in back - tail-draggers. The U-2 Dragon Lady is wildly different than any of these. With a 103-foot wingspan but a body that's just 63-feet long, the layout of the U-2 makes a traditional landing setup infeasible. Instead, the U-2 utilizes a pair of wheels, one up front and one in back. With such a bizarre layout, landings are so tough that since the U-2's earliest flights at Area 51, the US Air Force has used high-performance chase cars to guide the pilot down safely. The landing process isn't over there, though. As this video from Sploid shows, balancing out the aircraft to fit the detachable "pogos" – think training wheels for spy planes – is a comical procedure requiring a number of airman using their full body weight to even out the U-2. This video also recaps some of the great vehicles that have served as chase vehicles for this legendary spy plane. They include Chevrolet El Caminos, and the Fox-body Ford Mustangs so favored by the California Highway Patrol. For the last several years, the USAF has utilized products from General Motors, using fourth-generation Chevy Camaros, before switching over to the Pontiac GTO and most recently, the awesome Pontiac G8. It's fair to say that if you're a gearhead in the Air Force, this is the job you want. Check out the video, embedded up top. Detroit 3 and UAW set for showdown over tiered wages

Mon, Mar 23 2015

This week, thousands of United Auto Workers will converge on Cobo Center in Detroit for the Special Convention on Collective Bargaining, an every-four-year event that lets members tell UAW leaders what the negotiating priorities should be during contract negotiations. This is where a lot of sand and a lot of lines start coming together in preparation for contract negotiations between the UAW and the Detroit 3 automakers, which will happen later this year. Number one on the UAW agenda is the end of the two-tier wage system created in 2007 to help the automakers get through bankruptcy; veteran workers are paid the Tier 1 rate of around $29.00 per hour, new hires are paid the Tier 2 rate of between $15 and $20 and get about half the benefits of Tier 1. Tier 2 hiring has been an undoubted success for the automakers, allowing them to keep factories in the US and hire more workers. By agreement, it is capped at a certain percentage of each automaker's workforce, and while the union's ultimate position is to get rid of the dual-scale system entirely; one leader said Ford could easily afford the $335 million it would take to convert all its workers to Tier 1 out of its $6.9 billion in 2014 North American profit, and General Motors could do the same out of the $5 billion it is handing to investors through the (admittedly forced) share buyback. Other delegates say that at the very least they'd be happy with enforcement of the current caps in the new contract. The automakers, conversely, would welcome expansion of the Tier 2 ranks. Including benefits, import automakers pay workers "in the high $40 range" per hour, according to an analyst, while Ford and GM pay about $59 in wages and benefits per hour. More Tier 2 workers on the rolls would let those two companies get labor cost parity with the competition. Fiat-Chrysler pays wages closer to the imports because of special exceptions in its UAW contract that allow unlimited Tier 2 hiring; those exceptions will end on September 14 and bring FCA into line with the other domestics, unless the new contract maintains them. FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne is opposed to the two-tier system, having called it "almost offensive." One analyst says the UAW might win a sizable pay raise for Tier 2 and a small increase for Tier 1, but the keystone issue will be how the hiring matrix can help the automakers keep overall wages in line with the imports.

2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost loses big power on 87 octane

Mon, Jan 5 2015

The 2015 Ford Mustang with the 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder is a pretty potent package on paper. With 310 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque, it boasts better performance numbers than the 3.7-liter V6, but with better fuel economy as an added benefit. However, if you're in the market for one of these boosted 'Stangs, you should probably keep in mind that it really prefers to gulp premium, 93-octane fuel. It can drink 87-octane swill in a pinch, but you're going to find significantly less power underfoot when pulling away. While it's not shocking that the ponies are dialed back with a lower grade of gasoline, an alleged page from a Ford training manual obtained by Mustang 6G purports to show just how much power is lost, though. According to this document, the 2.3-liter EcoBoost makes 275 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque when running on lower octane fuel. That's a substantial reduction of about 11.3 percent compared to when the engine drinks 93 octane. Interestingly, according to Mustang 6G, that finding was a bit better than expected, because a Ford engineer reportedly said power would be down about 13 percent without altering peak torque. In speaking with Autoblog, Paul Seredynski of Ford powertrain communications, objected to part of this document. While he couldn't confirm the specific losses listed for the Mustang EcoBoost, "torque remains unchanged" with lower octane gasoline, Seredynski said. He speculated this training manual page was "possibly from before the engine was certified" and therefore showed incorrect figures. Serendynski did confirm that the automaker recommends using 93 octane, and like all modern engines, the software adapts if it's lower. "Peak power would be reduced" by using a lesser grade, he confirmed.
