1999 Ford Mustang 2 Door V6 35th Anniversary Edition
Manual Transmission
Mileage: 171,800
///
Features:
- Only 4 Owners; I've owned since 2006/110k miles, previous owner took excellent care of the vehicle as evidenced by the engine running amazing all the years later
- Regularly serviced; oil changes, tires, air filters, battery, new clutch kit put in last year
- Engine starts fine and runs like a charm, take a test drive. (I am a very cautious manual driver, never drive it hard, no hard stops/sudden accelerations/racing, ect.)
- Pretty good gas mileage if you drive it properly, I averaged about 27 on the highway
- Clean car; I'm a neat freak and non-smoker (so was the previous owner)
- This car is in excellent shape for being 14 years old and 171,000 miles, I can definitely see this car being one of those cars with an engine that runs until 250,000 miles if it continues to be serviced correctly
- 35th Anniversary Edition with emblem on side
- Viper alarm system & keyless entry lock
- Front two tires in excellent shape, back two tires will need to be replaced sooner but still adequte
- Clear title with no liens, I have owned the car outright since it was purchased with all cash in '06
- No accidents, collisions, or wrecks!
///
Deficiencies: (mostly external aesthetics and electrical)
- Driver side door dented
- Tinted windows scratched (from trying to retrieve locked keys in car!)
- Lights flicker on & off at times

- A/C does not get very cold
- Radio is sporadic, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't (electrical issue?)
- Light pull lever needs to be reattached (I have lever)
- Rear brake light case broken (light works and red tape is covered over the hole making it street legal)
- Driver side rearview window detached
- Welt on passenger side rear tire (doesn't let out air though)
- Passenger side rearview window missing mirror plate
- Will need new brakes pretty soon, but safe to drive now
///
Summary:
Bottom line, this is a great starter car for a fair price. I understand this car has a lot of miles, but how the car has been driven and taken care of (very cautiously and serviced regularly) matters more than miles driven. I have disclosed everything I know about this car good and bad and you are welcome to come out for a test drive. I live in north suburban Indianapolis and you will have to meet me in the Noblesville/Westfield area.  Certified funds of cashier's check or money order will be the only payment method accepted. Please contact me for any questions or additional pictures. I did my best to include pictures of everything of importance.

///
P.S. I also have a file of all the invoices from Firestone when it had to be taken in for oil changes, tires, new clutch kit, brakes, ect.
///
Thanks a lot!
J

I listed you are welcome to come out for a test drive, that is my mistake I had copied and pasted this from my local classified ad.  The money will be due per the terms disclosed.  I have disclosed everything and am using the eBay auction format to get the automobile sold.

And any questions or additional picture please ask!

Thanks,

Ford halves summer shutdown, ramps SUV production

Tue, Jun 2 2015

For the third consecutive year, Ford is reducing the length of its summer shutdown for several factories to keep up with high demand for some models. This year, the decision means 40,000 more units of popular trucks and crossovers like the F-Series, Edge, Escape, and Explorer. Rather than the normal two-week break, workers at the Chicago, Dearborn Truck, Kansas City, Kentucky Truck, Louisville, and Oakville factories will only get a week off starting on June 29. Additionally, 10 plants for producing components to support these assembly lines will also have the shorter vacation. The rest of the Blue Oval's manufacturing locations will shutdown from June 29 to July 10 for maintenance and retooling. According to Ford, the decision comes because of low inventories and high demand on some of its popular models. The 2015 F-150 is lasting around 20 days at dealers, and the Edge spends an average of 10 days before being sold. Ford is hardly alone in deciding to keep locations open during the normal summer break, though. FCA recently made the decision not to shutdown four assembly plants and all of its factories for components to keep up with demand for models like the Jeep Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, and Dodge Durango. In response to increased customer demand, Ford will add capacity this summer to produce its most popular trucks and utilities Ford will shorten its summer shutdown from the traditional two-week summer shutdown to one week for a majority of North American assembly plants, increasing production by close to 40,000 units In April, Ford F-150 was turning at just 20 days on dealer lots, Edge sales were up 78 percent, and Escape and Explorer remained in tight supply. 2016 Explorers are now hitting dealer lots In response to customer demand for Ford's newest products, the company this year will produce close to 40,000 extra units by idling select plants for only one week during what has been the traditional two-week summer shutdown.. "To meet surging customer demand for our top-selling trucks and utilities, we are continuing to run our North American facilities during the traditional two-week summer shutdown in order to add close to 40,000 units," said Bruce Hettle, Ford vice president, North America Manufacturing.

Junkyard Gem: 1991 Mercury Capri

Mon, Sep 19 2016

Ford has gotten a lot of use out of the Capri name in the United States. First, there was the Lincoln Capri in the 1950s, followed by the Ford Capri Mk1 (which was sold by Mercury dealers in the USA but never actually badged as a Mercury). Then came the 1979-1986 Mercury Capri, built on the very successful Fox Platform and essentially a clone of the Mustang. Finally, in 1991, the Australian Ford Capri came to the United States. Here is an example of this rare car that I spotted in a Northern California self-service yard not long ago. Mechanically speaking, the 1991-1994 Capri was a Mazda 323 under the skin, complete with a member of the same B-series engine family that went into such cars as the Miata and Ford Escort. So, for a few years in the early 1990s, car shoppers who wanted a sporty Mazda convertible could choose between a Miata and a Capri. The Capri had front-wheel-drive, but could be had with factory turbocharging. These cars were reliable and fun, but had a tough time competing with the Miata in the showroom battles. You'll see the occasional example now and then, but most of the 1991-1994 Capris have met the same fate that awaits this one. Related Video:

8 cars we're most looking forward to driving in 2015

Mon, Jan 5 2015

Now that 2014 is officially in the books, it's time to look ahead. And following our list of the cars we liked best last year, we're now setting our sights at the hot new metal that's coming our way in 2015. Some of these, we've already seen. And some are still set to debut during the 2015 auto show season. But these are the machines that keep us going – the things on the horizon that we're particularly stoked to drive, and drive hard. Jeep Renegade Not the Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Not the Ford Mustang GT350. Not the new John Cooper Works Mini. Nope, I'm looking forward to the adorable, trail-rated Jeep Renegade. And that's because I really, really, really like our long-term Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. I do not, however, care too much for the Cherokee's looks, and I really don't like its $38,059 price tag. The Renegade Trailhawk, meanwhile, promises much of the same rough-and-tumble character as its big brother, but at what we expect will be a more reasonable price (I'm personally wagering on the baby Jeep's off-road model starting at no more than $23,000). With a 2.4-liter four-cylinder and a nine-speed automatic, it should also be a bit easier to fill than the V6-powered Cherokee. Also, I can't help but love the way the Renegade looks. It's like someone took a Wrangler, squished it by 50 percent and then handed it off to George Clinton for a healthy dose of funk. The interior, with its bright, expressive trims and color schemes should also be a really nice place to spend some time. I'll be attending the Renegade's launch later this month, so I'll have a much shorter wait than my colleagues. Here's hoping the baby Jeep lives up to my expectations. – Brandon Turkus Associate Editor Mazda MX-5 Miata Here's an uncomfortable truth: I'd rather spend a day driving a properly sorted Mazda MX-5 Miata of any generation on a winding road than I would nearly any other vehicle, regardless of power, price or prestige. It's not just that I prize top-down driving and enjoy the Miata's small size because it gives me more road to play with. I just find there's more motoring joy to be had with high-fidelity handling and an uncorrupted car-to-driver communication loop than I do with face-distorting power or grip – let alone valet-stand gravitas. But perhaps most of all, I love Miatas because they can deliver that level of feedback and driver reward at modest speeds that won't put the locals on edge or endanger lives – you can use more of the car more of the time.
