This Mustang has been very well taken care of. Previous owner was an older gentleman in his 60's, babied the car and kept it garaged. Never driven in winter, therefore, no rust. 1992 Mustang LX 5.0 convertible, converted to a rebuilt T-5 5 speed with a new stage 2 clutch and new billet short throw shifter. Paxton Novi 2000 Supercharger, BBk Shorty Headers, new Pypes Stainless Steel X-pipe, new SLP loudmouth Stainless exhaust, new MSD cap and rotor and coil, ford racing wires, new battery, new kyb shocks, new eibach lowering springs, subframe connectors, 3:73 gears, posi. The top end was gone throough when the supercharger was installed by the previous owner. This Mustang is very clean, no rust, a few door dings, couple chips in the paint, corner of front bumper has a paint flaw. Interior is scarlet red and is nearly perfect, with the only exception being the armrest top pad and latch. Top works great, no leaks, has a few small cracks on the folds but it is an original top. I do have the matching red boot for the top also. I have replaced some of the weatherstripping and exterior trim pieces. new heater hoses and electric fan. This mustang is a blast to drive, so fast and loud when you hammer the throttle, but semi-quiet when just cruising around. It really pulls hard and drives excellent. Car has 105k miles but you wouldn't know it by the way it runs and drives. Its a very impressive car for being 21 years old. Very well taken care of and it does have power windows, locks, aftermarket keyless entry, cruise, a/c, good tires. I'm sure there are some things I'm forgetting but if you are interested, come by and I'll take you for a ride....matt, 319-423-1555 call or text. Spring is here, get a jump on the warm weather rush for a convertible, you won't be disappointed! If you have to ask your wife, do so before wasting my time! please no joyrides or tire kickers or lowballers, don't even make a lowball offer as it will be declined automatically. If you have any brains at all or know anything about cars, the Paxton supercharger alone costs $3500 new, so do your math before you make an offer. I will take you for a ride but don't expect to come and have me hand over the keys so you can take it around the block.

Ford secures Microsoft for software updates
Thu, Mar 19 2015Ford is dropping Microsoft later this year as its infotainment partner when the Blue Oval switches to the BlackBerry QNX operating system for Sync 3 (pictured above). However, the two companies aren't severing ties completely, because the Redmond, WA, outfit is taking responsibility for Sync 3's wireless updates. Don Butler, Ford Director of Connected Vehicles and Services, announced the deal during a speech, according to Automotive News. "We've obviously had a good, long relationship with Microsoft," he said. "Microsoft understands the automotive environment and the kinds of experiences that we'd like to enable." The ability for Sync 3 to accept Wifi updates was announced as a major feature the new infotainment system, but this was the first mention of how that has been handled. Ford will host the files on Microsoft's Azure Cloud servers, according to Automotive News. Owners will need to give permission to check for new software, and they'll be notified after an improvement's installation. Dealers will install Wifi transmitters to keep vehicles on the lot up to date, as well. Sync 3 is set to replace the much-maligned MyFord Touch later in 2015 on some 2016 model year vehicles, and by next year it should be available throughout the Ford and Lincoln lineups. In addition to the wireless updates, the new system also promises a simplified interface, better voice recognition and faster response times. Ford Motor Company is preparing for vehicle ownership and user experiences of the future with the creation of a global cloud based Ford Service Delivery Network enabling new ways for consumers to interact with cars. Teaming up with Microsoft, Ford will expand connected services for customers around the world using the globally scalable and reliable Azure Cloud infrastructure. Ford and Lincoln owners will benefit from the convenience of new connectivity services keeping them better informed and in control of their vehicle at all times with the expanded availability of features like scheduled remote start, vehicle finder, and vehicle status (fuel or charge level, tire pressure). Building the Ford Service Delivery Network (SDN) on the Microsoft Azure platform enables a common platform for Ford to bring new features and services to market faster, quickly scale up for global implementation, and remain flexible for the future. Starting later this year, the Service Delivery Network will first enable over-the-air software updates for SYNC 3.
Ford EcoBoost V6 hits the dyno before hitting the track
Wed, 02 Oct 2013Ford Racing just unveiled the Riley Daytona Prototype that will make its racing in the United SportsCar Racing Championship Rolex 24 at Daytona in January, and now it has released a video showing development of twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 that powers the car. Using the same block and heads that can be found on a production Ford Taurus SHO, this new racecar benefits from the collaboration between Ford Racing and Ford powertrain engineers.
While we still don't know what kind of power this engine is putting out, it has definitely gotten a workout at Ford's 17G dyno. This area deep within Ford allows the automaker's racing program to work hand-in-hand with production engine programs, which can be a benefit to racing operations and production cars alike. Scroll down to hear a few people from Ford talk about the crosspollination between its racing and engine teams and watch the EcoBoost get red hot on the dyno.
Ford's new Focus RS hatches hot and heads for America
Tue, Feb 3 2015The hot hatch market is heating up, and heating up fast. What you see here is Ford's new challenger for pocket-rocket supremacy, the third iteration of the breed and the 30th model to wear the Rallye Sport designation. But perhaps best of all, it will be the first time Ford will offer a new Focus RS in America. Following yesterday's leak, the latest Ford Focus RS is now ready to step out into the light and light up its tires. Answering the call is the same 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbo four as you'd find in the new Mustang, but upgraded with a new low-inertia twin-scroll turbocharger, larger compressor and intercooler, freer-flowing intake, large-bore dual-pipe exhaust with electronically controlled valve and upgraded internal components. The result is a 6,500-rpm redline (closer to that of Ford's atmospheric performance engines) and an output quoted as "well in excess of 315 horsepower" – which is already 5 more than the EcoBoost Mustang and a good 63 more than the existing Focus ST. Power is transmitted to the tarmac through a new performance-focused all-wheel drive system with torque vectoring that can send as much as 70 percent of available twist to the rear wheels (and as much as 100 percent between them). The system works in tandem with the brake-based torque vectoring system and stability control, and will even divert torque to the outside rear wheel under cornering to keep it flat and under control while reducing understeer. Those still suspicious of dual-clutch gearboxes will also be pleased to read that Ford has stuck with a conventional six-speed manual. We'll reserve judgement on the inclusion of the electric power steering until we get a chance to drive it, though. Of course the small team of global Ford Performance engineers who developed the new Focus RS – and the Gymkhana legend Ken Block who consulted on the project – didn't just tinker with the powertrain and leave it at that. The suspension features stiffer spring rates, bushings and anti-roll bars than the Focus ST, augmented by two-mode switchable dampers. 19-inch alloys wear Michelin Pilot Super Sport rubber, with optional Pilot Sport Cup 2 semi-slicks for track-day enthusiasts. Ford has yet to detail the brakes on its new hot hatch, but you can bet they've been upgraded as well.
