An Authentic with complete documentation 1968 Shelby GT500 Convertible which was equipped from the factory with a
rare 4 Speed toploader. Only 153 Shelby GT500 convertibles had this transmission.
This was one of the first few 1968 Shelby GT500 Convertibles ever built. Order was received 08/07/1968.
It is in its factory original Wimbledon White with black power top.(1 of only 8) in that combination.
It is in its factory black interior with decor bucket seats and has original Ford ultra rare 1968 headrest.
Original 428-4V PI engine and drivetrain.
Car runs and drives excellent. Less than a 1000 miles on it since restored. This is a really nice car.
All most all of the parts are restored originals or NOS parts.
All original Ford factory sheet metal and all original fiberglass with the exception of a NOS Ford front valance.
Original 4 Speed radiator was completely gone through and restored to concourse level with new nos core.
Still retains its factory option power steering and power front disc brakes.
It has all the original Data & VIN plates along with original owners manuals, warranty card, build sheet, factory
invoice, option list order sheet and Marti report. This car comes with all the original documentation with is a
must for a car like this.

NHTSA investigating 725k Ford, Mercury vehicles for stalling issue
Mon, 25 Feb 2013Owners of Ford Escape, Mercury Mariner, Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan models, listen up. According to a report on Automotive News, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened an investigation into these four vehicles totaling an estimated 725,000 units. The investigation appears to center around a malfunctioning throttle body on non-hybrid models of the 2005-2012 Escape and 2011-2012 Fusion. With Mercury dying off after the 2011 model year, this probe will also apply to the 2005 through 2011 Mariner and the 2011 Milan. There has been some discussion around the Escape stalling issue for some time now, but this investigation appears to be larger in scope than before.
Though not a recall yet, NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) has received 123 complaints of stalling or surging vehicles, while Ford itself has logged 1,472 complaints. The investigation report, which is posted below, seems to indicate that a faulty circuit board for the throttle body could cause the vehicle to go into limp mode, which, according to NHTSA, could cause complaints of both stalling and surging.
Ford Australia launches Falcon GT F 351, last of its line [w/video]
Sun, 15 Jun 2014It's always best to go out with a bang rather than a whimper, and Ford Performance Vehicles is doing just that in Australia with the Falcon GT F 351. It's the most powerful road car the Aussie performance brand has ever made with a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 pumping out 471 horsepower (351 kilowatts) and 420 pound-feet of torque. It's joined by the FPV Pursuit Ute with the same powerplant tuned to 422 hp and 402 lb-ft. Sadly, the last F in this Falcon's name stands for Final.
The GT F 351 is a monumental way to go out, though. It harkens back to the old days of Aussie muscle Fords, and the 351kw output is meant to reference the classic Falcon GT and its 351-cubic-inch V8. In addition to the massive power, the F has the improved suspension from the R-Spec model and Brembo brake calipers.
FPV is building just 500 GT F sedans for Australia and 50 more for New Zealand, plus 120 Pursuit Utes. They feature a blacked-out hood and black stripes over the hood and sides, plus gloss black accents around the headlights, door handles and mirrors.

2014 is shaping up to be a big year for Ford Motor Company, as it's announced an onslaught of 23 new global product launches which will help create 5,000 new jobs in the US. As part of the new product push, three more manufacturing plants will be opened.
