I have decided to sell my 1968 Mustang Fastback.
The Engine was originally a 302 and it was worn out and tired so i bought A fresh rebuilt 289 high performance with
less than zero miles on it ... Currently has around less than 1000 miles on it.
289 Hipo Crank- Balanced, stock rods with ARP rod bolts Balanced, Clevite 77 "nascar" main+Rod bearings
10.5 forged TRW pistons
Cam is a Crane Hydraulic model 294 as i was told the lift is 500 plus and duration is 288 sounds good at idle.
Lifters are Crane anti pump up
pushrods are Crane
aluminum roller rocker arms also crane with crane poly locks
cylinder heads are 1969 castings 4 barrel 351 windsor ported by AFR arp rocker arm studs-Crane push rod guide
plates-Crane valve springs double springs with dampner
10 quart Milodon oil Pan + Pick up
Melling high vacume oil pump
289 Hipo windage tray
Intake is "rare" 289 Twisted Torker-Ports matched to Heads
This Engine runs strong, and the guy who i bought the engine said it should have at least 350 HP to be on the
conservative side .. Currently have a small 2 barrel carburetor on it because i just cruise around town once in a
while and i am not into racing or anything/ when i had the Holly 4 barrel carb that came with the Engine it ran
very powerful.
Exhaust system sounds great hooked up to Headers. . The motor sounds really good and healthy.
Transmission used to be Automatic but currently has a 4 speed Toploader with Hurst shifter.
Front Power Disc brakes, . . new booster, master cylinder, brakes, etc. 8" rear with drums.
Power Steering. . new pump, belt, shocks, etc
17 inch Rims, 255/40/17 Rear ..... 245/40/17 Front ..... Tires are almost new.
Interior is in good condition, carpet, headliner, dash pad, door panels, handles, etc are almost as good as
New..... gauges, heater, lights, mechanicals and electrical are all working.
Color of Exterior originally was a lighter green but later painted dark green similar to the Bulllitt. . The paint
is about 3 years old , There are no major flaws that I can see but its not a ten out of ten.
At one point this car had floors and left quarter panel changed and few other panels replaced. When i bought the
car the body work was done but was not painted so i had it painted.
There is no Rust or tons of bondo or etc. . and the Paint shines good because i kept it indoors.
The car looks good and drives well. . very good engine with good power, reliable, does Not smoke or leak or
overheat, or any other issues.
This is a beautiful fastback driving down the road. Gets a lot of compliments. Clean "clear" Title registered to
my name, VIN number matching the title are visible stamps on fender aprons, door tag, and passenger side dash also
has vin plate which started in 1968.

Detroit automakers keep their masks on to keep the factories running

Tue, Oct 27 2020

United Auto Workers members leave the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Warren Truck Plant in May. Fiat Chrysler along with rivals Ford and General Motors Co., restarted the assembly lines after several weeks of coronavirus lockdown. (AP)   DETROIT — When the coronavirus pandemic slammed the United States in March, the Detroit Three automakers shut their plants and brought their North American vehicle production to an unprecedented cold stop. Now, four months after a slow and sometimes bumpy restart in May, many General Motors, Ford and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles  factories are working at close to full speed, chasing a stronger-than-expected recovery in sales. So far, none of the Detroit Three has had a major COVID-19 outbreak since restarting production, even as the coronavirus is surging in Midwestern and Southern communities outside factory walls. "We have people testing positive, but it's not affecting operations," said Ford global manufacturing chief Gary Johnson. Keeping the pandemic at bay has pushed the automakers and 156,000 U.S. factory employees represented by the United Auto Workers into unfamiliar work routines and extraordinary levels of cooperation among the rival automakers that will have to be sustained for months to come. For automakers, the automakers' COVID response has been as much about instilling new habits as relying on new technology. Workers log their symptoms, or lack of them, into smartphone apps and walk past temperature scanners to get to their work stations. But company and union executives said masks, along with physical distancing, are the key to keeping assembly lines rolling. "The mask is the foundation" of protecting workers on the job, said Johnson. Complaints about masks Autoworkers are accustomed to wearing protective gear such as shatterproof glasses and gloves. Masks that cover the mouth and nose, however, were not standard equipment on auto assembly lines, and were a tough sell at first. "The biggest complaint is wearing a mask," United Auto Workers President Rory Gamble told Reuters. "A lot of our members perform physical tasks. Wearing the mask inhibits breathing." Beyond that, Gamble said, masks and distancing make it harder for workers to have conversations on the job or socialize during breaks. "ThatÂ’s pretty much out the window, and it makes for a longer day," he said. Masks make it harder for co-workers to read each other's expressions — often crucial in the noisy environment of a car plant.

European jury picks finalists for 2015 Car of the Year

Tue, Dec 16 2014

There are countless Car of the Year awards handed out each year, and naturally, Europe has its own way of doing things. Every year, a panel of jurists representing seven publications in seven different languages and seven different countries get together to name their joint Car of the Year. The panel released a list of 32 candidates back in July, and it has now whittled that list down to seven nominees. The list consists of the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, the Citroen C4 Cactus (shown), the Ford Mondeo, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the Nissan Qashqai, the Renault Twingo and the Volkswagen Passat. Of those seven, only two are available in the US – those being the Mondeo (sold Stateside as the Fusion) and the C-Class. The Passat is an entirely different model in North America, the Qashqai isn't offered here, Citroen and Renault don't even participate in our market and the BMW 2 Series is represented here only by the completely different coupe and convertible. Expect the one and only recipient of the 2015 Car of the Year award to be announced at the Geneva Motor Show this coming March, and while you're waiting, you can place your guesses for the eventual winner in Comments. Toyota fears supplier pressure in Australia with GM pull out

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

With Ford and General Motors both announcing an end to production in Australia, the country's auto industry is in a bad way. With the exit of two big players, there's increased concern that a third Australian manufacturer, Toyota, will be forced out, as well.
"We are saddened to learn of GM Holden's decision. This will place unprecedented pressure on the local supplier network and our ability to build cars in Australia," Toyota Australia said in a statement. The GM closure of Holden production will be the direct end to 2,900 jobs, but will also force a dramatic reduction in the size of the country's supplier network, as there will simply be fewer cars to build.
In the same statement, Toyota Australia said it would work with suppliers and local government to figure out whether continuing production Down Under was even feasible. According to Automotive News, a representative for the Australian Manufacturing Workers' Union told reporters it was "highly likely" that Toyota would also close up shop within the next few years.
