1966 Ford Mustang Fastback 289 Manual Transmition Nice Project!!!! on 2040-cars
Vancouver, Washington, United States
Vehicle Title:Clear
Engine:289
Drive Type: Manual
Make: Ford
Mileage: 104,000
Model: Mustang
Trim: Fastback
What an awesome candidate for restoration. This is a nice 1966 Mustang fastback that will be an easy project for someone to finish. It is equipped from the factory with its original 289 rebuilt motor and manual transmition. Dual exhaust, drum brakes all redone last summer. Mechanically sound, this fastback is a good driver as is. It is its original color of Nightmist Blue, with all original unrestored interior in Parchment. A very attractive combo and nice and cool, unlike all the black interiors out there. The paint was redone at some point in the last decade and only has some minor flaws. But anyone that buys this car is obviously going to want to restore it. Its very very straight. No filler that I can find. The front floor has 2 spots as I have tried to capture in the pictures, they are about 3-4 inches long. The car will come with the 2 front floor sections new in the box. It also has a spot of rust in the rear passenger side floor, again about 3 inches or so.. The floors are original as you can see in the pictures and other than those areas are very solid. The frame is very solid and so is the cowl. If I were keeping the car I would just put a new floor in, just because im a perfectionist and I like the look of a new floor as opposed to sections welded in. But it could certainly just have the sections welded in for a driver fastback. The interior is all original and all complete down to the factory radio that still works! The only thing missing is the carpet, which was taken out to get better pics of the floor. It obviously will need some restoring as well but is all there. The back seat and all the assembly, trim and all is in very good shape. The door tag is present and all numbers match. Decodes just as it sits now. New magnum 500 wheels and newer tires. good chrome bumpers. Engine runs well and shows well. Some new and old parts come with car. Title is clear. Just turned 100k miles!! This is a car you can be proud of driving now while you restore. It gets a lot of attention now and will command even more when done. I am sure I am forgetting a few things so pls ask any questions you may have. I will also be selling my 1965 MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE c code SHELBY clone soon, It is also a restoration in process, if you have any questions about either just ask! I am able to assist in transport at buyers cost. Thank you.

2015 Hennessey Ford Mustang hits 207.9 mph
Wed, Jun 3 2015After hitting over 195 miles per hour a few months ago, John Hennessey was barely out of his personal HPE700 Mustang before he said that 200 mph was achievable. Don't doubt a man who knows a ton about taking cars to insane speeds. With the new HPE750 Mustang, he and his customers can finally surpass the 200-mph mark in their cars. "If at first you don't succeed, just add more horsepower and rpm and try again," Hennessey said in the company's announcement. Rather than the 717 horsepower and 632 pound-feet of torque from the supercharged 5.0-liter V8 in the HPE700, the HPE750 ratchets the same powertrain up to an even more potent 774 hp and 648 lb-ft. In a real show of confidence, the Hennessey team brought along Jay Leno when it returned to the Continental Tire Proving Grounds in Uvalde, TX, to set a new top speed with the HPE750. The upgrades to the Mustang definitely paid off because the pony car reached a GPS-verified 207.9 miles per hour down the straight. The run will eventually appear on a segment on the upcoming Jay Leno's Garage TV show that will air CNBC. Prices for the HPE750 start at $59,500 USD, including the base 2015 Mustang GT, but building an exact replica of this one would cost $69,374, according to Hennessey. In addition to the huge top speed, the company claims that the coupe can reach 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and cover the quarter mile in 10.9 seconds. 774 HP Hennessey Mustang Tested to 207.9 mph Jay Leno visits Texas tuner for upcoming TV series on CNBC June 2, 2015 Uvalde, Texas—On Wednesday, May 27, 2015, professional driver, Brian Smith, drove the Hennessey HPE750 Supercharged Mustang to a top speed of 207.9 mph. In the process, Hennessey's potent pony car became the first 2015 Mustang to break the 200 mph mark. Jay Leno was on hand to witness the record speed while filming an upcoming episode of Jay Leno's Garage, which will air on CNBC later this year. The run was made on the 8.5 mile high speed oval at the Continental Tire Proving Grounds located in Uvalde, Texas – the same test track where John Hennessey test drove the company's HPE700 Mustang to a top speed of 195 mph back in February of this year. During both tests, speeds were validated with Racelogic's VBox 3i GPS data logging system. "If at first you don't succeed, just add more horsepower and rpm and try again," said company founder and president, John Hennessey.
