Up for bids is this 1966 ford mustang coupe. This is a great project for someone wanting to build a mustang and does not want to start with just a body or one that is not running. This is a running 66 coupe that basically needs a cosmetic restoration. The drivetrain in this car is pretty hot. It has a 289 with a c-4 green dot automatic transmission. The motor is not stock. It has a cam in it. It has a good sounding exhaust system. It has a aluminum intake. It has a remanufactured 650 edelbrock 4 barrel carburator. It has headers. From what I was told it has a positive trac rear end in it. I think it has gears in the rear end to but not sure what size. This car will get it. It has a special built brace across the shock towers and some bracing and traction bars under the leaf springs. This is one of those cars when you pull up to the red light you will turn heads either sitting still or taking off because it will go. This car sat up for about 10 years before I got it. I had to get another carburator, put some different tires on it because the old ones were dry rotted beyond use. I had to put another gas tank in it and clean the whole fuel system out. As far as mechanically The motor and transmission seem to be real good. The brakes work and it stops good but I am sure the brakes would need a little fine tunning. Mechanically this car would need little work. The tires are to big so it would need smaller tires on the front before it could be driven much. They are to wide and rub the fenders when you turn it. The glass is good in the car. As for the body this is where the major work will need to be done on the car. I am including a pair of doors, a front passenger side fender, and a hood in the auction that I took pics of that would be easy to do a little work to and just swap out the body panels or the ones on it could be fixed but it is just quicker and cheaper to unbolt parts and put other ones on. The main thing that will have to be cut out and welded in  is the floor pans. It will need floor pans. The frame sections are all good on it. The roof and trunk lid are good. The hood is good but when you let one sit up for a length of time the hood hinges will want to seize up and are hard to pull down unless you oil them so when someone pulled down on it they bent it a little on the drivers side. It could be fixed but I am including a extra hood anyway incase you just want to change it out. The doors are shot. The drivers door is trash. There is not fixing it. The passenger side is rusted underneath where you can't see so it could be fixed or changed out that will be up to you. The front passenger fender is the same way. It is rusted at the bottom and can be fixed or changed out. The rear quarters will need a little work but are fixable. Unless you find a car that sat in a garage or in a barn all these years you are going to have a hard time finding a rust free car. These are typical rust places for a 66 mustang. The interior is all there just needs restoring. The kit is pretty cheap to do this. I have a cd player that I will let go with it as well. I have a clear title to it. I also have a rear bumper for it. I don't think I took a pic of it. This would make a good project or a father son project. This is one of those cars you can drive and work on it a little along. I live in Jonesboro Louisiana and the car will have to be picked up here. I will require full payment be made within seven days of the end of auction. If you are a serious buyer and want to talk to me and ask questions email me or call me at 318-278-1069. The car runs and drives fine but due to the tires and brakes needing a little work I would recommend bringing a trailer. Again if you are in question about something or need more pics just let me know. Also please it cost money and time to list these auctions so be sure you are 100% sure you want it before you bid.

Ford Mustang GT500 successor spied near SVT

Tue, 17 Sep 2013

Details about the next-gen Ford Mustang are scarce, and there's even less information out there about the upcoming replacement for the Shelby GT500. Previously rumored to drop the Shelby name and wear the GT350 moniker, the highest-performance Mustang has just been spotted testing near Ford's SVT operations.
Despite being cloaked in heavy camouflage, we can instantly tell this prototype is different from other Mustang spy shots we've seen in the past. Aside from the Shelby-spec wheels, quad exhaust outlets (previous spy shots show only two) and beefier brakes, this car also has air intakes on the hood and front fenders. These elements help to neither prove nor dismiss rumors that the next SVT Mustang will be naturally aspirated. It also looks like Ford is may be planning some changes to this car's rear suspension, as there is some extra camouflage added beneath the rear end of this prototype.
As a bonus, these spy shots also give us our first look inside the new Mustang, revealing a new steering wheel (with more buttons) and a glimpse of the dual-pod instrument gauges. Check out past spy shots of the 2015 Mustang showing off its new face and driving around town.

Detroit automakers mulling helping DIA avoid bankruptcy looting

Tue, 13 May 2014

It's not really a secret that the city of Detroit is in lots and lots of trouble. Even with an emergency manager working to guide it through bankruptcy, a number of the city's institutions remain in very serious danger. One of the most notable is the Detroit Institute of Arts, a 658,000-square-foot behemoth of art that counts works from Van Gogh, Picasso, Gauguin and Rembrandt (not to mention a version of Rodin's iconic "The Thinker," shown above) as part of its permanent collection.
Throughout the bankruptcy, the DIA has been under threat, with art enthusiasts, historians and fans of the museum concerned that its expansive collection - valued between $454 and $867 million by Christie's - could be sold by the city to help square its $18.5-billion debt.
Now, though, Detroit's hometown automakers could be set to step up and help save the renowned museum. According to a report from The Detroit News, the charitable arms of General Motors, Ford and Chrysler could be set to donate $25 million as part of a DIA-initiated campaign, called the "grand bargain." As part of the deal, the DIA would seek $100 million in corporate donations as part of a larger attempt at putting together an $816-million package that would be paid to city pension funds over 20 years. Such a move would protect the city's art collection from being sold off.

Ford GT inspires objects for Milan furniture show [w/videos]

Tue, Apr 14 2015

Can't get enough of the lines on the new Ford GT? Then Milan is the place to be this month. That's where Ford will be presenting a series of objects whose designs were penned by the same talents behind (and inspired by) the company's new supercar. Set to be presented at the Salone del Mobile furniture show in the Italian metropolis, the collection ranges from tables, chairs and light fixtures to a sailboat, foosball table and electric guitar. "We have an incredible amount of talent in our global design studios," said Ford's chief designer Moray Callum. "Salone del Mobile is the perfect forum to share some of that creativity, while also offering our designers an opportunity to get exposure to new ideas that will inspire future Ford design." In addition to these seemingly random objects, Ford has also partnered with architect Attilio Stocchi to create a special light exhibition entitled "Favillia, Every Light a Voice," similarly inspired by the new GT. But if your plans won't be taking you to Milan anytime soon, you can check them out in the images above and the videos and press release below. This content is hosted by a third party.
