1965 Mustang
Here is a nice driver quality Mustang. I'd throw some mags or Shelby rims on it to give it some attitude.
It is a 289 A code which was a 289 4 barrel. I have copies of the original title but since the inner fender and door were changed in the body restoration, Maryland MVA assigned the car a new VIN and New ID plate. Copies of the original title and other documents show it is an A code. Maryland Title and Maryland VIN plate match.
The Pony has been partially restored with a rebuilt motor, newer paint and new interior.. The car runs and drives nicely and has power steering. It Cruises right along and turns heads everywhere. I've driven the car for an hour straight on the highway and suburbia roads with no issues. The Mustang does not pull when driving or breaking.
The body-
- Very nice flat very glossy and shiney paint
- Some very minor chips you have to hunt for and a light scratch on rear which look as if it will buff out
- Drivers door window needs adjusted. It hits rear side window slightly. The door does not appear to sag.
- Floors and trunks are incredibly solid
- MInor over spray on some window trim. Should come off with green scuff pad
- Wheel wells are all solid
- Bumpers, light bezels, lights and mirrors are all new
- Much of the chrome has been replaced with new. 1 piece of rear side window trim missing. In photo
- Trunk is incredibly solid and gas tank replaced.
- Windshield has small crack in corner. Not worth replacing
Drive train-
- Motor starts right up with no smoke or leaks - It does cough periodically (not enough to be an issue but want you to know). I'd put some new plugs and plug wires and run a couple tanks of high test through it. The car has been sitting for some time. Everything should be freshen up.
- Runs very good
- Has lots of power
- Engine bay could be detailed or chromed out.
Interior -
- New Pony interior, new carpet, and headliner.
- No wire nests beneath dash
- Dash has a few ripples - not worth replacing. I'd replace the gauge bezel and glove box with the fake wood ones just to give it some accents.
- Door panels in good shape.
Over all, this is a very nice driver quality car with very minor room for improvement. This is not a show car but a decent cruise in car I'd show. The car is sold "As is Where is" and the buyer is responsible for sall shipping arrangements or drive it home. A $500 deposit is due immediately at auction end. The balance will be paid with Cash or wire transfer within 3 days of Auction end. No refunds, no returns, no gaurantee, no negotiating. You click, you buy.
Car must leave within 10 days of auction end. Please call with any questions.

On Apr-28-13 at 11:21:29 PDT, seller added the following information:
Some additional information - Yesterday the starter gear would spin but wouldn't throw forward to engage the fly wheel (symptomatic of a starter going bad) doing so intermintingly. So I installed a brand new starter and brand new battery this morning. Have receipts. Also - The radiator is brand new with stickers still on it.

What car should James Robertson buy to drive his famous 21-mile commute?
Thu, Feb 5 2015The Internet has been abuzz this week with the story of Detroit resident James Robertson, the 56-year-old factory worker who has walked some 21 miles to work for the last 10 years. The Detroit Free Press brought Robertson's story to the fore, helping an online fundraising campaign to generate more than $275,000 (as of this writing). The original goal was just $5,000, or about enough to replace the used Honda that died on Robertson back in 2005, and left him walking. So, newly flush with funds, what's the perfect car for Robertson to buy? Let's look at the specifics of his situation, and try to pick out the best options. Here's what we know: Robertson's commute is (famously) 21 miles; he lives in downtown Detroit (for now) and seems pretty humble, so something very flashy is probably out; former Honda aside, his ties to the city (and statements about being a Ford fan) seem to indicate a Detroit Three company product is best; he's a single guy with a girlfriend; he's got to deal with Michigan weather, and the sometimes fickle snow removal processes in The D. Here are some choices: Ford F-150 Robertson is on record as being a Taurus fan, and after a decade of walking I've no doubt that the big sedan would offer a cozy respite. Still, as a car guy and a student of the industry, I'd have a hard time recommending a sedan so clearly in need of replacement. Especially when The Blue Oval has such great stuff within the rest of its roster. The 2015 F-150 seems almost perfect for Robertson. Opting for either of the new EcoBoost V6 engines should help keep fuel bills in reasonable check, while healthy ride height and four-wheel drive will get him to work on time even during the snowiest of snow days. Better still, with a fat options sheet and car-like ride quality, Robertson can have just about every amenity he might want, in a package that won't disrespect his blue-collar roots. Chevrolet Colorado You guys saw this one coming, right? The smaller footprint of the midsize Chevy pickup, relative to some of the other options here, should be an advantage for urban parking and driving. And again, 4x4 is an option for the nasty weather, the running costs should stay pretty low and there aren't many tech/luxury features that can't be had in-cabin. I'd go ahead and splash out on the Crew Cab bodystyle, too, just in case Robertson feels like starting a carpool.
Ford, Volvo top 2014 EyesOn Design awards
Fri, 17 Jan 2014Each year at the Detroit Auto Show, the top vehicle designs are recognized with the prestigious EyesOn Design award for production and concept vehicles. This year, the 32 EyesOn Design judges (comprised of current and former vehicle designers including Chrysler designer and SRT president Ralph Gilles, Kia designer Peter Schreyer and retired General Motors designer Wayne Cherry) handed out three awards for the Best Concept Vehicle, Best Production Vehicle and Innovative Use of Color, Graphics, and Materials.
Beating out the Mercedes C-Class and Ford F-150, the 2015 Ford Mustang was named the Best Production Vehicle as the top auto show debut at this year's Detroit show. The 2014 Volvo Concept XC Coupe took home awards as the Best Concept Vehicle and for its Innovative Use of Color, Graphics and Materials.
Considering the Volvo's primer grey hue and subtle orange accents, it was a rather surprising winner for Innovative Use of Color, Graphics, and Materials over flashier concepts like the Toyota FT-1 and our Editors' Choice top pick, the Kia GT4 Stinger. Other vehicles in the running for the concept car award include the GT4 Stinger and Audi Allroad Shooting Brake
Sunday Drive: Still thankful for supercars
Sun, Nov 26 2017The Thanksgiving holiday meant that last week was pretty short on stories, but apparently our readers are still thankful for supercars. The biggest news of the week was the new Aston Martin Vantage, which is clothed in a new look that Autoblog readers are still very much unsure of. It's a radical departure from past Aston Martin models, and while everyone seems to agree that the profile is lovely, the squinty headlamps are a particular source of contention. Its 503 horsepower and 512 pound-feet of torque cannot be argued with ... oh, and a V12 may be coming soon. Moving along is a nearly new 2006 Ford GT for sale that's expected to fetch around $300,000 at auction. It's so unused that it still has plastic wrap covering the leather interior. The Ango-American theme continues with the McLaren 720S, though not in road-going form. Still, renderings of the upcoming 720S GT3 racer round out this supercar-rich recap. As always, stay tuned to Autoblog for all the latest automotive news that's fit to print.
