I am always available by mail at: carmelmangieri@juno.com .

You are looking at an exceptional, very special car. It is listed in the official K Code Registry. Here is my
story. In the fall of 1964, I was 18 years old and I purchased my first new car from Gene Hamon Ford Dealership in
Texas City, Texas. I special ordered the 289 High Performance model with 4 speed transmission. I became the proud
owner of the only K code, hipo Mustang in Galveston County. There are so many memories wrapped up in my car, it is
one of the hardest decisions I have ever made to now offer it for sale. I was 18 years old when I bought it and now
I am close to my 70th birthday.

If you know Mustang history, and I hope you do, you will appreciate the special place an original K Code car holds
in the 50 year history of Mustangs. Of all the Million plus Mustangs produced during the first generation 1965-67,
less than 1% were the high performance model. It came with the Special 289/271 horse, 4 barrel carb, solid lifter
engine. This the the engine Carroll Shelby used in creating the first racing Shelby Mustangs and the Cobras. When I
ordered it, in addition to the High Performance engine, in 1965 it only came with a 4 speed transmission, the
famous 9 inch Ford rear end, Mine has the 3.89:1 gear ratio. You could not get AC, power steering, windows,
brakes. It only came with a radio and heater. That was all I needed.

This car has no rust whatsoever. I went through a long slow process of restoration which was completed in 2009.
Since that time, It only gets out of the garage for an occasional car show or Mustang Club events. I have won my
class numerous times in judged shows.

The car is painted in its original color, which is also a very rare Phoenician Yellow as it came from factory, I
installed Tri-Y headers, a Hurst 4 speed shifter and added the new rims within the last 2 years, other than that,
she is a stock K Code.even down to the mechanical choke on the 4100 autolite 1:12 four barrel carb.

I know what my car is, I know what it's value is in the collector car market. You can look for a long time and will
not find a K code with this history. I only know of 2 other original 65 Mustang owners and neither one has a K
code.

Last 2014 Ford Shelby GT500 Convertible nets $500k for charity at Barrett-Jackson [w/video]

Tue, 13 Aug 2013

The last 2014 Ford Shelby GT500 Convertible was sold on Saturday at a Barrett-Jackson auction in Reno, Nevada, for $500,000. Ford donated the Mustang to be auctioned for charity, and all of the money is going to the Brain Injury Association of America.
Parnelli Jones, winner of the 1963 Indianapolis 500, was there on behalf of the BIAA with his son Page, who suffered a brain injury in a sprint car crash in 1994. The bidding increased quickly, reaching $500k in no time, spreading a bit more hope to people who live with brain injuries.
The winning bidder will be able to choose the GT500's exterior, interior and stripe colors, and is scheduled to receive the car, signed by Parnelli Jones in appreciation for the donation, by the end of 2013. Watch the video below to see the auction-block action.

Detroit Three's lucrative pickup war intensifies as Ram makes big gains

Thu, Jan 3 2019

DETROIT — The battle for profits from sales of large pickup trucks is intensifying among the Detroit Three automakers as sales of small cars in the United States shrivel. For decades Ford has had the single best-selling truck brand in its F-Series trucks. General Motors' Chevrolet brand was a solid No. 2, and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' Ram was a distant third. Now, that hierarchy may be in flux. Sales figures for December and the fourth quarter released on Thursday show Ram tied with GM's Chevy for the No. 2 spot, as sales of the redesigned Ram pickup surged, fueled in part by demand for an optional 12-inch (30.48 cm) dashboard screen. Chevy not long ago held second place to Ford by a wide margin. GM executives said on Thursday they are bullish on their new GMC and Chevy trucks for 2019.Related: How the Detroit Three's pickups compare on paper 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie review 2019 Chevy Silverado 2.7L four-cylinder review 2019 Ford F-150 2.7L EcoBoost review "There's no doubt this segment (pickup trucks) is one of the epicenters of the auto wars," said Sandor Piszar, director of marketing for Chevrolet at GM. "It's been that way forever, and we wouldn't have it any other way." On Wall Street, investors give electric car leader Tesla a higher valuation than any of the Detroit automakers. But in the nation's heartland, big pickups remain far more popular and profitable than any electric car — and most other consumer vehicles of any kind. Large pickups generate at least $17,000 a vehicle in pretax profit for GM, the company has indicated in disclosures to investors. By contrast, many Detroit Three sedans are so unprofitable, their manufacturers have decided not to build them anymore. 'Hotly contested' Sustaining sales and pricing in the large-pickup segment will be critical in a year when most forecasters expect overall U.S. car and light truck sales to fall. Ford's U.S. sales chief, Mark LaNeve, on Thursday called the F Series "the backbone of our franchise" during a conference call, and added the "segment will continue to be strong, but hotly contested" in 2019. Automakers are banking on pickup truck sales to stay strong even if U.S. interest rates continue to rise. Rising interest rates translate into higher monthly car payments and are expected to deter some buyers in 2019. GM has said 27 percent of Chevrolet and GMC trucks — which can haul trailers by day and substitute for a luxury sedan by night — sell for more than $55,000.

Camouflaged Shelby GT350 seen on the street

Fri, Mar 27 2015

The Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang made a grand debut at the 2014 LA Auto Show, and its more extreme GT350R sibling bowed at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. With the order guides already leaked and the R lapping the Nurburgring in a claimed 7:32.19, many of the big questions about the high-performance pony cars have already been answered. However, when they aren't showing up at events, Ford apparently still sees reason to keep the models fully camouflaged on the street. Case in point: this recent video showing off one in testing. With the design already fully unveiled, there's not much left to spy under all of the concealment. This short clip does provide a real-world opportunity to hear the song of the 5.2-liter V8 with its flat-plane crank, though. As a development car nothing here is final, but based on this video, Ford is definitely making sure the Shelby's engine sounds great. Related Video:
