1918 T Bucket Dusty Garage Find Shows photo from early 1990’s with Pink Slip (Current Non Op registration) It is currently being stored in my garage in Riverside County, CA. The owner is a 65 year old Vietnam vet who wants to retire and needs the money. 1918 Ford Model T registration and Vin Number (I am told by the owner that the frame is original with numbers matching the Pink Slip.) What I do know is that the 289 Cobra engine has a nice lub, lub, lub at idol and a deep Harley sounding varoom cruising around. This car is not for the timid. Note: This car was registered before 1977 and does not require fenders. This car was purchased by the owner of a pawn shop about 20 years ago and the current owner of the car now bought it in 1999. It stayed in his garage looking sharp for almost ten years and He was a partner in an auto repair shop and kept this car stored inside up until the end of last year. That’s when we found out that they had moved this 1918 T Bucket to a new location and it sat under a window and sunlight through window trashed the upholstery. (See Before and After Photo.) Spent the last 9 months helping owner clean it up, repair the interior and get this ready to hit the road. Now, he has asked me to put this on eBay. Sadly he now has to sell his pride and joy. I am have this car listed locally and reserve the right to remove this listing if it sells locally and remove this listing 48 hours prior to the end of the auction. Please email through eBay for if you have any questions and I will respond asap. |

Ford increasing Super Duty production by 15 percent
Fri, 31 Jan 2014Ford has announced a hefty $80 million investment in its Kentucky Truck Plant, which is responsible for building the F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 versions of the Super Duty pickup. The influx of cash will add 350 jobs to the factory.
The investment is also good for a 15-percent increase in annual production thanks to retooling and other facility upgrades, which equates to an extra 55,000 units of production. Considering that Ford makes even more money off its Super Duty than it does on the hot-selling F-150, this could mean some serious coin to Ford's bottom line.

Former Cadillac boss Butler takes Ford tech job
Tue, 07 Jan 2014When Don Butler made the surprising decision to leave his post as Cadillac's VP of global strategic development, it was a surprise. Citing a desire to "recalibrate, reassess my priorities" in that August announcement, it wasn't entirely clear where Butler - a virtual General Motors lifer after spending nearly 30 years with the company - would end up. Turns out he took a trip to Dearborn.
Butler has taken a position in the newly created position of Executive Director of Connected Vehicles and Services at Ford, where he'll be responsible for the Blue Oval's global connectivity strategy. "Not only does Don understand the connected car landscape, but probably just as important, he understands customer expectations," said Raj Nair, who, as Group Vice President of Global Product Development, is Butler's new boss. "Having a leader with technology experience both inside and outside the industry is a rare combination - we're excited to have Don join our team."
As Ford has received its fair share of flak for the sometimes recalcitrant MyFord Touch infotainment system and its Sync voice-controls, it appears that Butler has his work cut out for him.
2015 Ford F-150 shaves 700 pounds, adds 2.7-liter EcoBoost [w/video]
Mon, 13 Jan 2014The Ford F-150 is one of the best selling vehicles on the planet. Considering that, one can imagine that when it comes time for a redesign, there are hardly any half measures. For its lucky thirteenth generation, Ford has gone all-in on the single most important vehicle in its portfolio, redesigning it from the ground up.
The big news is the F-150's new, lightweight, Atlas-inspired body. Ninety-three percent of that new body is made from a sort of aluminum alloy not unlike what the US military uses in its M2 Bradley fighting vehicles and Humvees, and it accounts for up to 70 percent of the F-150's 700-pound weight reduction. As a side benefit, the aluminum body should prove more resistant to dents and dings. Built Ford tough, indeed.
If you're wondering where the other 30 percent of that 700-pound weight loss went, 8.5 percent (60 pounds) came from the increased use of high-strength steel (up from 23 percent to 77 percent) in its ladder-box frame. Ford claims this steel is comparable to some of the heavy duty pickups used by its competitors, with a PSI rating of 70,000.
