Fully restored dual sidemount Model A deluxe roadster!

I have owned this car for about 12 years, it was originally purchased as a gift for my Father. He began the restoration and on his passing I brought it to a professional shop and had the work completed. The work was completed as follows:

New steel fenders.
New steel hood
New running boards
New Body wood.
New top (Lebarron Bonney)
New Interior (Lebarron Bonney)
New brakes, springs, shocks, steering rebuilt.
Engine rebuilt (200 miles ago)
Transmission rebuilt, Clutch replaced
Balanced flywheel
Tacoma Cream powder coated wheels
Complete new wiring with alternator and modern distributor (I have the original if you want it)
4 new Firestones (spares are two good Mobils my Father had on it)
Paint is 4 years old and was done by a very good paint and bodyman, it has a scratch or two in the usual Model A places as I built the car to drive. It is not an original Model A paint code! Look at the pictures, it is a beautiful car. It is not a correct restoration because of the color. I do not have side curtains. It comes with a beautiful trunk and stainless rack and a top boot.Speedometer reads 02879 I assume that means 102879 but I can make no guarantee. Car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end auction early

This is an 82 year old car, it is not new. There is no warranty expressed or implied. Personal inspections are encouraged. This is not an auction for a chance to come look it is a binding contract to purchase. I have described the car to the best of my ability and will not accept responsibility for oversights or differing opinions. I have about 50 photos of the car and will be happy to share them with you in my shutterfly account, send me an email for that address. Email any questions, if you want to talk about it send me your phone and I will call you back. Shipping is the responsibility of the purchaser, I will help load. I would strongly recommend an enclosed carrier. $500.00 deposit due within 24 hours of the end of the auction via Paypal. The remainder by wire transfer only, any other payment type must be preapproved. Title is clear and in my name. Bidders with negative feedback for non-payment or less than 10 feedback ratings must contact me before bidding.

Time to catch up with Jay Leno's Garage, including his Lamborghini Espada restoration

Tue, Dec 23 2014

If you're already jealous of the time, effort and money that Jay Leno can devote to his massive car collection, prepare to get a little greener with envy with this latest video from Jay Leno's Garage. Instead of the usual format of discussing a model for about ten minutes and then taking it out for a test drive, this week Leno gives viewers on a tour of over a dozen projects concurrently happening in his stable. The breadth of the vehicles shown and the things being done to them run the entire span of the automotive hobby. At the same time, Jay's shop is working on just a simple restoration of his 1969 Lamborghini Espada (pictured), and at the other side of the building, the team is rebuilding a wood-bodied 1914 Detroit Electric from scratch. He eventually plans to slot a more modern electric drivetrain into it. If bikes are more your interest, there's a freshly completed Brough Superior just waiting for a ride, and if American models are your thing, a Ford Bronco is getting a Coyote V8 installed into it. You have some very specific tastes if you can't watch this clip and start wishing at least one of these vehicles could be in your own garage. Other than the personal projects his mechanics are working on in the shop, Jay gets to have them all, plus plenty more.

Ford 3D-printing Mustang out of chocolate and candy for Valentine's Day

Thu, 13 Feb 2014

Is your beloved in love with the new 2015 Ford Mustang? Do they like chocolate (that's a trick question - everyone likes chocolate)? Are they a bit of a futurist? Then this Hallmark holiday, you need to get them this Ford Mustang, 3D-printed in sweet, delicious chocolate.
Ford is teaming with 3D Systems' Sugar Lab in LA to produce the super-accurate pony car confections in both chocolate and sugar candy varieties. The process kicked off with a CAD rendering of the 2015 Mustang, which was then programmed into the 3D printer. After a bit of work from the machine, a four-inch long, two-inch tall Mustang was the result. Why the tieup with 3D Systems, though?
"We wanted to create something fun to show that while 3D printing made these edible Mustangs, manufacturing-level 3D printing was used in the development of Ford's all-new sports car," said Paul Susalla, Ford's supervisor of 3D printing.

Ford mulling EcoSport for US? [w/poll]

Mon, 03 Jun 2013

"We certainly have that ability. We're studying it very, very closely." Those are the words of Jim Farley, global head of sales, marketing, service at Ford. The investigation Farley is referring to is the possibility of selling the company's new EcoSport crossover in America.
The diminutive Fiesta-based EcoSport was developed for emerging markets like Brazil and, more recently, China, but it apparently may have a future in the States, where it would form a new entry-level rung below the Escape in Ford's already robust crossover stable. Ford has big plans for its tiny CUV - Farley tells Automotive News that the EcoSport is only available in 10 countries right now, but by 2017, its distribution will have mushroomed to 62 countries. At the time the second-generation model launched at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show as a 2013 model, Ford said the EcoSport would eventually be sold in nearly 100 markets worldwide.
The Brazilian- and Indian-assembled EcoSport is available with a variety of gasoline-powered engines, but the 1.0-liter, three-cylinder EcoBoost giving 118 horsepower and 125 pound-feet of torque would seem to be the powertrain of choice for America, as it was recently confirmed for the stateside 2014 Fiesta.
