This is a beautiful 1928 Ford Model A, Tudor Sedan. The car has been garage kept since restoration began 30 years ago. There is NO RUST on this car anywhere. The doors are straight, and close and open fully. Pretty much a top to bottom restoration including but not limited to: New tires, and a spare on the back, newly painted rims, new floor boards, new blue/black paint scheme, new roof, new upholstery, interior insulation installed, newly restored Zenith Carb, engine has been rebuilt and runs beautifully, no smoke at all. All lights, including brake light work. Has been updated to a hydraulic brake system which works great! All windows roll all the way down and up with no problem at all, Brand new battery as of 10/2012. Of course there are a couple dings on the fenders but nothing serious.

A few things to finish the car off: The seats have been reupholstered however the headliner, door panels, and rear panels have not yet been upholstered. The transmission shifts fine, and drives fine...but 1st gear is quite noisy, and 2nd gear is a little noisy. 3rd is as quiet as ever. Also has an "auto-lite" heater, which works very well!

**Also - The car currently has a AA engine. This was an engine originally used just for commercial trucks. I believe it is a 30' engine. Serial is AA437217

A couple important things you need to know: The two biggest problems with the car mechanically are: The car seems to wobble, or shimmy left and right when driving more than 10 mph or so. Also the steering wheel has a bit of play. I am not sure how to fix this, but for the right person I bet it is not that difficult. I drove the car quite a bit last fall with no problems at all. This year, the problems started and therefor have not driven it much.

This is not a show car, as the paint and upholstery, as well as a few other things are not original...HOWEVER this would be a great car for someone that is mechanical and can fix the minor issues the car currently has. It is great for a drive around town. Starts every time with no problem at all!

I have described this to the best of my ability, I strongly advise you to ask any question you may have! I will get back to you ASAP. Also, please come and take it for a test drive if you are serious! Car is located about 45min west of Chicago in Wheaton, Il.

Thanks for looking!

Ford car-camo artist works his craft on Australia's new Falcon XR8

Fri, 25 Jul 2014

Ford is among the kings of concealment when it comes to test cars. On one recent Mustang SVT mule, the automaker went to the extreme of putting baffles over the exhausts to hide how many there were. Sounds like a lot of work, right? In a new video, the Blue Oval has decided to take fans behind the scenes to show them what it takes to camouflage a prototype. In this case the subject was the recently unveiled 2014 Falcon XR8 for Australia.
Ford's prototype build coordinator Down Under has the very appropriate name of Neil Trickey, and it's his job to obfuscate the important bits of test cars to keep them out of spy shooters' camera lenses. Trickey calls his job a "dark art," and he shows off some of the tricks of his trade in the video. It turns out that the fabric we often see on mules is a type of lycra, but his team isn't above getting out a can of spray paint to conceal parts, too.
Scroll down to watch a video about a man who you probably wish could be a little worse at his job.

2015 Ford Mustang [w/videos]

Thu, 05 Dec 2013

It'd be unwise to bet against the sixth generation of this legendary nameplate.
The 2015 Ford Mustang is assuredly the most anticipated new vehicle of the year. The redesigned Pony Car has been the subject of frantic gossiping and covert spy photos covering everything from the way it looks to the tech it will include, its performance, mechanicals and a bevy of other aspects of Ford's performance icon.

Ford adding stop-start to all major model lines

Sun, 24 Nov 2013

Ford has gone all-in on its efforts to offer most of its new vehicles with a fuel-efficient EcoBoost engine, but the automaker is reportedly preparing to take another big step toward improving vehicle efficiency. Automotive News is reporting that Ford will soon expand the availability of start-stop technology, which was first offered - presumably the first non-hybrid vehicle, that is - on the 2013 Fusion (equipped with the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine) as a $295 option.
The benefit of start-stop is reduced fuel consumption as it shuts the engine off at long stops, and AN quotes Ford as saying that drivers can save more than $1,000 on fuel costs over five years. Despite this, the option hasn't been popular on the Fusion thus far, but it could be more beneficial on bigger vehicles like the F-150. Ford also said that the next-gen Edge, which was previewed in concept form at the LA Auto Show, will be equipped with auto start-stop to help make the EcoBoost engines even more efficient.
