1966 Restro-Mod Shelby Cobra 427 cu in side oiler Ford FE engine with almost 500 hp. The engine code is C7AE-A with
screw in freeze plug. Date should be 1967 with these numbers. I have included some typical pictures of the Crank.
Engine is cooled with an electric fan that is both manually and thermostatic controlled. Engine runs cool at 180
on a hot day. Aluminum radiator has an aluminum overflow reservoir.
The transmission is a Ford 4 speed, Posi Traction, BF Goodrich Tires, American Mags, and Autometer gauges.
Suspension is coil over, X frame. 4 wheel disk brakes, hydraulic clutch, scatter shield. Gas tank is 18 gallons.
The fiberglass body was manufactured by B&B Engineering out of Ct. The car was professionally built by them sold
and registered in Calif, in 2008. The Cobra is smog legal in Calif and still has the smog plaque. Total car weight
is about 2000 lbs.
The Cobra has about 9k miles and is currently registered in Utah as a 1966. I have had the car for about 3 years.
The paint is burgundy with a gold stripe. Seats are tan vinyl with 2 stage foam cushions and an integral gel pack
for riding comfort. Drivers side seat is adjustable. Previous owner was 6'3" tall.
Exhaust headers are ceramic coated as well as the heat shields. Exhaust is throaty, but you can still talk to your
passenger at 65 mph.
Custom floor mats. The carpet is showing some wear under the mats. The car includes a cockpit cover that snaps in
place as well as a Bimini top that has never been used. The trunk is carpeted an painted. The sales will include
two camp chairs as they are hard to find to fit the trunk. The windshield has two smoke colored Visors that help
deflect the wind as well as side wind deflectors.
The oil, filters, transmission and rear end fluids are fresh. The undercarriage has been coated with a heat
preventive coating called Lizard skin. The engine compartment is also shielded from the cockpit with Be Cool
sheeting. There are no passenger heating issues.

Ford S-Max Concept proves minivans aren't always minivans [w/video]

Tue, 10 Sep 2013

Ford's latest don't-call-it-a-minivan is called the S-Max Concept, and it's a looker. As you can see, the conceptual overgrown hatch makes good use of Ford's latest design language, especially at the very front of the S-Max, which bears a striking resemblance to production models that include the Focus, C-Max and Fusion.
Powering the S-Max Concept is a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine, and while Ford doesn't actually list power figures for the concept, previous estimates put the mill at 133 kW of power (about 178 horsepower) and 240 Nm of torque (about 177 pound-feet). Inside, there's room for seven passengers and at least some of their luggage.
As you'd expect, the S-Max is loaded up with all of Ford's latest infotainment technology, including Sync and MyFordTouch. More interestingly, there are also onboard heart and blood glucose monitors that we doubt will be seeing the light of production anytime soon. On that topic, don't expect to see any S-Max-shaped vehicles hitting the US market from Ford, either. Scroll down below for the press release, but not before checking out the high-res image gallery above.

Ford announces 2014 F-150 SVT Raptor Special Edition

Tue, 09 Apr 2013

Ford has pulled the wraps off its anticipated 2014 F-150 SVT Raptor Special Edition model, a new variant of the popular street-legal off-road specialist. In a nutshell, the "special" is all cosmetic - there are no mechanical upgrades to the truck and its 6.2-liter V8 (411 horsepower and 434 pound-feet of torque), Torsen limited-slip differential, beadlock-capable wheels and internal triple-bypass FOX Racing Shox dampers all remain untouched.
The SVT Raptor Special Edition, which adds cosmetic enhancements to the existing Luxury Package, will be offered in Ruby Red Metallic and Tuxedo Black Metallic with box-side graphics. The interior upgrades include Brick Red seat bolsters (with black inserts), cloth honeycomb highlights and a console top finish panel.
As of now, Ford has only release a couple pictures of the Special Edition model. But check back later, as we will update the gallery when additional high-res images are released later today, and be sure to peruse the press release below for all the details.

Ken Block and friends race light in silly-beautiful Castrol commercial

Wed, 28 May 2014

How does one make fast, loud, drifting cars better? Well, you can add more fast, loud, drifting cars or you can add lasers. Either or, really. In this case, Castrol did the right thing and added both, creating a highly stylized commercial for its Edge Titanium motor oil starring South African racer Adrian Zaugg, BMW factory driver Augusto Farfus, Audi DTM and Le Mans staple Mike Rockenfeller and some bloke named Ken Block.
Their cars? No surprise, but Block is in his Ford Fiesta GRC, while Zaugg samples a Lamborghini Aventador and Farfus and Rockenfeller drive along party lines, with a BMW M4 and an Audi R8, respectively. And those cars look good, too, thanks to the creative light and laser work on display.
Take a look below for the video from Castrol.
