This is a car that was built as a labor of love. The beginning was a clean, straight, rust free body, made by Henry Ford himself. Everything else was new, no expense spared. The frame is a TCI ordered as a stage III, with stainless independent front suspension, disk brakes,Ford 9",coil over springs. The engine is a brand new 350 Chevy ZZ4. These engines include aluminum heads with roller cam. The transmission is a T350 built by a local shop with a shift kit. The interior is leather, as is the rumble seat. The bottom cushion lifts out so the trunk can be used for storage. The car has power windows, vintage air conditioning (works great!),cruise control,Pioneer sounds, electric door latches. The car does have louvered hood sides, but the owner likes to show off the engine,so they are not shown in the photo,s.
And then there is the matching trailer. It is painted to match the car,as are the wheels. There is room for the cooler on a rack on the tongue, and inside room for chairs,suitcases,pop-ups,etc, This takes care of the problem that Model A,s are not big cars. Although there is enough room in the trunk for day trips, if you are going to travel any distance, the trailer is perfect. It tows along like it is not there. In fact there is a small radio antenna that sticks up so you can assure that it is still back there. It has a custom bra which helps keep it clean as well as assure that the inside stays dry.
There is much more to be told about this car, but I think this sets the tone. The car was built in 1998 and has always been stored inside in a very nice garage. It has been on several long cross country trips and always performed flawlessly. This car is ready to go. It is set up for traveling. Treat yourself to a fresh hot rod this year, get out and see America.

How the Ford Shelby Mustang came to be

Fri, 20 Sep 2013

Even as rumors swirl that the next-generation of high-performance Ford Mustang will drop the Shelby name, Ford has released a short video telling how the legend of the Shelby Mustang came to be. In its latest installment of its video series entitled Mustang Countdown, Ford dug up some footage from Carroll Shelby to give a little insight into how this automotive icon was created.
While it's definitely interesting to hear the late legend tell the story in his own words (including numerous references to the 1964 Mustang as a "secretary's car"), it's also pretty funny learning exactly how the Shelby GT350 got its name in the first place - a name allegedly making a comeback as the replacement for the current Shelby GT500. As development work continues on the 2015 Ford Mustang, the Shelby video posted below shows that the automaker is always looking at its past - even as it looks ahead to the future.

Updated Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator caught in new spy photos

Mon, Oct 26 2020

Face-lifted Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator prototypes were spotted in the wild Monday wearing fairly extensive camouflage disguising updated bodywork for the 2022 model year. Ford's two body-on-frame offerings (BOFferings? Nope. Pretend that didn't happen.) are both due for a nip and tuck, and with GM's fresh slate of full-sizers now available, the timing couldn't be more perfect.  There's not much we can discern from this Navigator prototype. The camo does a good job of masking whatever Lincoln has in store for the nose, but the tailgate has some discernible updates, including a significantly more pronounced recess for the license plate that also appears to be mounted higher on the hatch. This would likely indicate that the rear lighting scheme is getting an overhaul, as there doesn't appear to be enough room between the lower edge of the glass and the plate for the current scheme to be preserved.  The Expedition, on the other hand, has quite a bit going on. For starters, this prototype is not sporting the chrome-and-polish look we've come to associate with these often-blingy SUVs. Instead, we see a set of Goodyear Wrangler all-terrains on what appear to be 18" wheels, which are positively dwarfed by the turbine-style wheels on the Lincolns. Leaning even harder into the off-road theme, this prototype is not wearing the scalloped front air dam seen on other Expeditions. While it may have been removed for testing purposes, its absence (or replacement) would certainly do wonders for the big SUV's approach angle. Elsewhere, we can see what appear to be a new set of tail lights, and it would be safe to assume based on the camo that we'll see new front and rear bumper treatments.  We can also see a bit of the Expedition's interior, and there are quite a few things to note on this front. For starters, the prominent, vertically oriented infotainment screen takes after the Mustang Mach-E's unit. This is significant not only on spec, but also because it signals that the Expedition's interior will be departing more significantly from that of the F-150.  Related Video:

Ford demonstrates Mustang's new Line Lock burnout feature

Tue, 22 Apr 2014

Been saving your pennies for a 2015 Ford Mustang? Put in a few extra shifts or some overtime? Got a great down payment ready? Well, however much you saved for your new pony car, start saving more - you'll need the extra money to spend on tires.
That's because the Mustang will come with a system called Line Lock, which can lock the front brakes electronically, allowing drivers to perform big, dumb, smoky burnouts without moving so much as an inch. It's sort of like launch control, only the average driver might actually use it.
Now, line locks aren't uncommon, particularly in drag racing. Usually, a flip of the switch locks the front brakes. The Mustang, besides offering the system from the factory which is unique in and of itself, looks a bit more involved.
