1930 Ford Tudor Sedan restored from an exceptionally solid, straight, rust-free original. A very lovely Model A that always receives glowing compliments, particularly regarding the razor straight body, show-worthy paint and '31 style deluxe mohair interior. The car has been driven very sparingly since the restoration, always kept covered indoors and never exposed to inclement weather and truly shows no noticeable aging or wear. The chassis and drive-train have also been completely rebuilt. The brakes feature accessory floaters which significantly improves their efficiency. Vacuum wiper motor restored and works perfectly. The instrument panel features a NOS speedometer. It still shows all zeros as I haven't been able to bring myself to hook it up (there is a speedometer cable included). Would estimate the car has been driven less than 1000 miles since restoration. Non-original features include the '31 style deluxe mohair interior and a '32 style stainless-strip hood hinge on a Rootlieb reproduction hood. Had a very nice original hood but even nice ones are difficult to restore to Rootlieb reproduction quality. Those guys make outstanding products. The later hinge eliminates the annoying paint chipping normally seen with an original hinge and ties in nicely with the stainless cowl band and stainless radiator shell. I'm sure Henry would approve (why didn't he think of it sooner?) and it wouldn't be difficult to revert to original should new owner prefer. The radiator shell shows a small wrinkle on the upper left edge. I have a very nice, straight replacement to install before it goes to a new home. Also, not shown in the pictures are a very nice original horn (not installed) and a locking Moto-Meter (with wings) radiator cap (not installed) that will go with the car. The car cold-starts instantly with a 6-volt sealed Optima battery. If you have a 6-volt vehicle without one of these you're missing out! My only complaint about the car is that it (like every other Model-A??) leaks a bit of oil, making a garage-floor drip pan an essential accessory. It does have a "leakless water pump" which is a great feature, as Model A owners can attest, for keeping the engine bay nice and clean. The auction involves a very reasonable reserve; significantly less than completing a comparable restoration. As a used car, it is offered for sale as-is where-is with no warranties stated or implied. The buyer is responsible for all costs and arrangements for shipping or pick-up of the vehicle. A $500 pay-pal deposit will be due from the winning bidder within 72 hours of auction conclusion and the remaining balance by direct wire transfer to my bank within 7 days. Other certified-funds may be acceptable (contact seller through eBay). The car and/or title will not be released until all funds have completely cleared all banks involved.

Ford gets colorful with Mustang anniversary infographic
Thu, 24 Oct 2013Preparing to celebrate its 50th birthday, the Ford Mustang has seen a lot of vehicle trends come and go, and this especially goes for paint colors. Using historical production data, Ford has managed to create an infographic dating back to 1967 that breaks down the three top Mustang colors for each year as well as calling out some of the more interesting trends and colors over the years.
Over its five generations, the Mustang has been offered in a seemingly endless rainbow - from Playboy Pink in '67 and color-changing Mystichrome on the 2004 Cobra - but the most popular has always been red, which is the color of choice for 21 percent of all Mustangs ever made. Almost every year since 1967, red has been among the top three colors for the Mustang, but other popular colors have included blue, white, brown and, most recently, black. There are even websites and registries available for people owning certain-color Mustangs.
As the all-new 2015 Mustang gets ready for its debut later this year, there's no telling what kind of exciting and/or wacky colors Ford has in store. Click on the image above to see the full infographic (choose the "large" option for optimal viewing), or check it out in a smaller size along with the press release posted below.
Chevy, GMC and Ram dealers are worried they'll run out of new pickups
Wed, May 6 2020One of the unexpected side effects of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic is a shortage of pickups at Chevrolet, GMC and Ram dealers. Supplies are running out, and the factories that build these trucks remain closed. Stores across the nation began increasing incentives in March, when the first stay-at-home orders were issued, in a bid to continue luring buyers into showrooms. They also launched online sales channels, or expanded their existing digital business. Sales nonetheless plummeted in April 2020, but in-demand vehicles, like the Ram 1500 and the Chevrolet Silverado, are still selling relatively well thanks in part to the aforementioned incentives. Pickups outsold sedans for the first time in April 2020, according to The Detroit News, by 17,000 units. The problem is that General Motors, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), and Ford temporarily closed their factories in March. "The pipeline is very dry," said Mike Maroone, the CEO of a large dealership group named Maroone USA, in an interview with Automotive News. He told the publication his Chevrolet stores are sitting on a 30-day supply of the Silverado, which is one of America's best-selling vehicles. "That is a problem for us," he concluded. Coronavirus-related lockdowns and factory closures compound problems already faced by dealerships who represent General Motors-owned brands. They entered 2020 with a thinner inventory than a year earlier due to the 40-day United Auto Workers (UAW) strike that paralyzed the company late in 2019, and the 0%, 84-month offers announced in March have sapped supply. Ram wasn't affected by a strike, but it has relied heavily on generous incentives to move trucks off lots. Ford, on the other hand, limited incentives to 2019 models. Inventory levels differ greatly from region to region. The national average for the Silverado stood at an 82-day supply in March 2020, down from 120 in March 2019. Ram stores had a 114-day supply of the 1500 (compared to 134 a year earlier), while Ford bucked that trend with a 111-day supply versus 84 in 2019. Don't panic if you're in the market for a truck; we're not facing a complete drought. Automotive News added that America's light-duty pickup inventory could fall to 400,000 units by the end of May, and drop further to 260,000 units in June. For context, there were about 700,000 light-duty trucks in stock in May and June of 2019. That's unquestionably a sharp drop, but there will still be over a quarter of a million trucks to choose from.
