NO RESERVE!! CAR SELLS TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER!!

Up for sale today is my 1930 Ford Model A Coupe that was restored approximately 8 years ago. Car was restored back to original condition along with a few modern upgrades such as sealed beam headlights, upgraded water pump shaft, aluminum windshield frame and an aftermarket hood prop to protect the paint when the hood is opened. It retains the original 6 volt positive ground electrical system. A new battery was just installed and the generator is in proper working order.

All the electrical components in the car work as they should; high and low beam headlights, taillight, brake light, horn and AMP gauge. The fuel gauge and speedometer work as well. I checked the speedometer with my GPS and it's +/- 1 or 2mph at speed. Timing advance lever, throttle lever, throttle pedal and choke are all hooked up and working properly. Parking brake is connected and working properly. The chassis/suspension was greased and the brakes adjusted while the car was on the lift to take the undercarriage photos.

The 4 cylinder flathead engine and 3 speed trans are in flawless working order. It starts right up every time and runs and drives great! It appears that the engine has been completely overhauled given it's external appearance (new gaskets, seals, hardware, etc.) and it's flawless operating condition, however, I can not verify this through any paperwork or receipts as I did not receive any when I purchased the vehicle. I think you will agree though once you have inspected the vehicle for yourself.

Interior is in great shape with no rips, tears or stains in any of the upholstery. Seat is still nice and springy when you sit in it. Original style rubber floor mat is in great shape as well with no holes or tears. The doors work great and shut tight. Windows roll up and down and windshield tilts out smoothly. It's a very solid/tight car when driving down the road, no squeaks, rattles, etc.

Paint is in good shape overall but is not show car quality paint. It has cracks/chips/scratches as to be expected of any 8 year old restoration that has been driven. It shines great and is perfect for a nice driver that you don't have to panic about when the kids try and climb up on the fenders (hey, everybody likes a shiny red Model A!)

The photos listed are not the only ones I have, just the ones I could fit here! Send me your e-mail address and I'll e-mail you a file with over 100 photos of the car and a video of the engine starting and running.

I have a clear 1930 Ford title in hand ready for transfer. Car is located in Fredericksburg Virginia 22407.

If you want to view the car or have any questions feel free to call me anytime at 540-850-0115

Ford issues recalls for Fiesta, Fusion, E-Series, and Lincoln MKZ

Wed, Mar 25 2020

Ford has issued two new safety recalls for North America. The first covers certain 2014-15 Ford Fiestas, 2014-16 Ford Fusions, and 2014-16 Lincoln MKZs with doors that might not close properly. The second pertains to 2021 Ford E-Series stripped chassis and cutaway vehicles with a wiring harness that might chaffe and expose important wiring.    Ford is recalling 268,343 Fiesta hatchbacks, Fusion sedans, and MKZ sedans across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with 248,912 of the affected vehicles located in the U.S. The recall says the "latch pawl spring-tab design" could crack in locations where the temperature gets too hot. If the tab breaks, the door might not shut. Or, worse, the door will shut temporarily and reopen once the vehicle is in motion. As a fix, Ford dealers will remove and replace the side door latches. In a separate recall, Ford is targeting 3,631 2021 E-Series stripped chassis and cutaway vehicles. These vehicles could have frame-mounted wiring harnesses that could deteriorate and break due to rubbing on the frame. If the chaffing wears down the harness, wiring for the fuel, trailer tow, and antilock braking systems could be exposed and damaged. In the worst-case scenario, the damage to the fuel pump wiring could cause the pump to stop working, which could stall the vehicle.  Those with affected E-Series vehicles should bring them in to dealerships for inspection. If there is no damage, technicians will add anti-abrasion tape over the area and "ensure clearance to surrounding components." If the harness is damaged, the wiring will be spliced and fixed, then anti-abrasion tape will be added. Ford also issued a third recall, but it is specifically for the Canadian market. On 54,292 examples of 2006-10 Ford Fusions, 2006-10 Mercury Milans, and 2006-10 Lincoln MKZs, a valve inside the hydraulic control unit might stick open. According to Ford, this could result in a longer brake pedal travel, which could possibly create dangerous situations if the driver is unaware. Dealerships will inspect the control units and replace those that are defective. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Ford Explorer Jackson Pollock Edition results in trip to hospital

Tue, 02 Jul 2013

Among the many useful pieces of driving advice we've taken to heart over the years, "Safely secure all cargo" is etched pretty high on our personal stone tablets. We've had a couple of frustrating moments over the years (numerous wonky cupholders and too-tall lidded cups; a radar detector that released its suction cups and dashed itself below the dashboard, etc.), but never anything like the scene above.
These photos above come courtesy of the Washington State Patrol, and they show the unfortunate aftermath of a driver, his dog, and his Ford Explorer after it crashed near the town of Belfair last week. According to reports, the man was schlepping five-gallon containers of paint inside his vehicle when he was involved in an unexplained accident. It's not clear what triggered the crash, but the impromptu abstract painting covered the whole of the interior, including the driver and his faithful companion.
The man was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries, and his dog was cleaned and later taken to a humane society.

Trump wants a trade deal, but South Korea doesn't want US cars

Thu, Jul 6 2017

SEOUL - US auto imports from the likes of General Motors and Ford must become more chic, affordable or fuel-efficient to reap the rewards of President Donald Trump's attempts to renegotiate a trade deal with key ally South Korea, officials and industry experts in Seoul say. Meeting South Korean President Moon Jae-in last week in Washington, Trump said the United States would do more to address trade imbalances with South Korea and create "a fair shake" to sell more cars there, the world's 11th largest auto market. "What we really want to say to the United States is: Make good cars, make cars that Korean consumers like." While imports from automakers including Ford, Chrysler and GM more than doubled last year largely thanks to free trade deal which took effect in 2012, sales account for just 1 percent of a market dominated by more affordable models from local giants Hyundai and affiliate Kia. Imports make up just 15 percent of the overall Korean auto market, and are mainly more luxurious models from German automakers BMW and Daimler AG's Mercedes-Benz, which also benefit from a trade deal with the European Union. "Addressing non-tariff barriers would not fundamentally raise the competitiveness of US cars," a senior Korean government official told Reuters, declining to be identified because of the sensitivity of the subject. "What we really want to say to the United States is: Make good cars, make cars that Korean consumers like." TASTE BARRIER In Korea, US imports are seen as lagging German brands in brand image, sophistication and fuel economy, industry experts say. US imports do have a competitive advantage in electric cars: Tesla Motors' electric vehicles are seen as both environmentally friendly and trendy, while GM has launched a long-range Bolt EV. US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross had cited a quota in the current trade deal as an obstacle to boosting imports. The quota allows US automakers to bring in each year 25,000 vehicles that meet US, not necessarily Korean, safety standards. Should GM, for example, decide to bring in more than its quota of one model - the Impala sedans - it would cost up to $75 million to modify the cars to meet Korean safety standards, the company told its local labor union. Asked about non-tariff barriers, a spokesman at GM's Korean unit said removing them could expand the range of models the company can bring in from the United States. No US company, however, has yet to make full use of the quota, industry data shows.
