1969 Ford Galaxie 500 XL LTD convertible. This car is black with a red interior and white top. This car is a great local show cruiser. The car underwent a restoration 20 years ago. The body on it is solid and shows a small dent in the right rear quarter and a scratch on the passenger door as well as a small scratch at the nose of the hood. A small bubble is located on the left side of the body by the top well and is not even noticed unless you are looking. This car has a great red interior where everything works. The only issues is a minor crack in the speaker grille in the instrument panel. The top of the car is white, it is in great shape and has a glass back window. The radio on the car is the original AM/FM setup. This car is an original miles, numbers matching setup. The drivetrain is a 390 2 barrel, auto. The engine does have a minor exhaust leak on the left side that doesn't detract from driving. It does require lead additive being the original, untouched motor. It just recently got a new cap, rotor, both belts, fresh carb gaskets, oil breathers, and pcv valve. This car is not fast, but was not built to be. It is good on gas for what it is. This car does have hideaway headlights that do operate properly. This car does include a cover as well. This Galaxie is a great cruiser and everything works, the lights, gauges, and hvac blower. This car can be enjoyed for cruising or doing shows, where it does attract a good amount of attention. I am selling the car because I lost my job, but low offers will not be considered. The buyer will get a fun car that needs absolutely nothing.

Focus RS shreds in prep for Goodwood hillclimb

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is rapidly becoming a second home for Ford's hottest versions of the Focus. Last year, the updated Focus ST and high-performance diesel debuted there, and this year the motoring event has been selected to show off the new 2016 Focus RS. To get a little exercise before speeding up the hill climb, the Blue Oval unleashed its upcoming hyper hatch on a Belgian test track. Based on this clip, Ford's test driver has absolutely no problem whatsoever in making the Focus RS slide, at least with the stability and traction control off. Interestingly, while the RS shares its 2.3-liter EcoBoost with the latest Mustang, the Blue Oval's engineers give it a much different exhaust note here. Rather than a growling muscle car, this example has much more of the staccato bark of a rally-bred machine, which is a great fit. The all-wheel drive, 315-horsepower Focus RS should be arriving at dealers soon, and we're definitely looking forward to seeing and hearing it take on the Goodwood hill during the upcoming event. Toyota fears supplier pressure in Australia with GM pull out

With Ford and General Motors both announcing an end to production in Australia, the country's auto industry is in a bad way. With the exit of two big players, there's increased concern that a third Australian manufacturer, Toyota, will be forced out, as well.
"We are saddened to learn of GM Holden's decision. This will place unprecedented pressure on the local supplier network and our ability to build cars in Australia," Toyota Australia said in a statement. The GM closure of Holden production will be the direct end to 2,900 jobs, but will also force a dramatic reduction in the size of the country's supplier network, as there will simply be fewer cars to build.
In the same statement, Toyota Australia said it would work with suppliers and local government to figure out whether continuing production Down Under was even feasible. According to Automotive News, a representative for the Australian Manufacturing Workers' Union told reporters it was "highly likely" that Toyota would also close up shop within the next few years.

Ford dealers offered discounts on tools to fix aluminum

With the introduction of the aluminum-bodied 2015 Ford F-150 (and the likely use of aluminum in future Ford products), Ford is looking to help its dealerships reduce costs related to repairing this more labor-intensive material. Automotive News is reporting that Ford dealers with body shops will require an estimated $30,000 to $50,000 in equipment and training to work on aluminum, and to help alleviate the financial burden of the new F-150, Ford has announced a special 20-percent discount on this equipment.
Dealers will be able to save up to $10,000 on tools such as welders, air-filtration systems and rivet guns and to create aluminum-specific work stations. The new F-150 goes on sale in the fourth quarter, and dealers have until October 31 to take advantage of this deal, according to the report.
