1965 Ford Galaxie 500 2 door hardtop. Barn find. Project. Overdrive. Solid straight complete original car. This is a good project to start on. Not a piece of junk. Not a parts car. Six cylinder three speed manual with overdrive. One family owned since new. Known history since new. Sitting in shed since 1988. 130k actual miles. Clear title Plain-jane car. Manual steering & brakes. Heater. Clock. Remote mirror. Crank windows. Radio maybe dealer added? Straight body lines. Doors open & close very nice. Body gaps good. Almost all chrome & emblems are here and in good shape. Glass good. Body, floors pans, doors, door & window openings in good shape. Quarter panels can be saved but need some work. Minor dent in roof, trunk lid, passenger side. Battery tray rusted but inner fender is good. Bottom of frame rails rusted out under door openings-common on these cars. Be sure you understand this. Not shown in photos. Ask questions before you bid. Original paint-very faded -now surface rusted. Interior original & complete. Better than expected condition. Bench seat mechanism works. Dash pad & headliner need replaced. To be clear- this is a restoration project but a good one to start on. I'm telling you about stuff the others never mention. Does not run – cannot be driven. Oil pan is off. 240 six cylinder engine likely has major problems. Rolls-3 speed manual overdrive transmission and differential appear to be OK.“What-you-see-is-what-you-get” Removed parts are in the trunk. Spare wheel & jack included probably original. Ask questions before bidding. If your feedback score is less than 10, contact me before you bid. You are welcome to come inspect it before you bid. Buyer responsible to get it home. I can load it. No warranty. No refunds. No future adjustment. Might deliver for a fee or close-by. Thanks for looking.

The 2015 Ford Mustang is not so mellow in yellow

Tue, 14 Jan 2014

When we first saw the 2015 Ford Mustang, much was made of its new, more expressive color palette, which includes the return of both yellow and orange in addition to a new grayish shade, Guard. At that time, we didn't have anything to look at but a few small scale models painted in the new colors - the only Mustangs on display were in Race Red.
For its auto show debut here at in the Motor City, Ford has trotted out a couple of as-yet-unseen shades, including the striking Triple Yellow shown above. The new shade marks a return to a paint color that enthusiasts have been clamoring for, and we must say, it looks excellent under the lights of Cobo Hall.
Stat wise, there are still a number of questions we have about the redesigned Mustang. None of the three engines have had official power figures published. The same goes for pricing information, although if any loose-lipped execs let something slip in Detroit, we'll be sure to let you know. Until then, have a look at the new Triple Yellow Mustang on display at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.

With contract expiration days away, UAW targets GM first for negotiations

Tue, Sep 3 2019

The United Auto Workers union on Tuesday said that it would target General Motors as the first of the Detroit automakers for talks ahead of the current four-year contract's expiration on Sept. 14. This year's contract talks between the union and GM, Ford and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV are expected to be contentious as U.S. new vehicle sales are slowing and automakers face rising costs associated with the development of electric vehicles and self-driving cars. Rising healthcare costs, job security, profit sharing and the use of temporary workers are expected to be major sticking points. GM in particular has been a target of union ire since announcing the closure of five North American plants late last year. That move drew a wave of criticism, including from U.S. President Donald Trump. Trump has repeatedly prodded GM and last week said the No. 1 U.S. automaker should begin moving its operations in China back to the United States. "We are prepared and we are all ready to stand up for our members, our communities and our manufacturing future," UAW President Gary Jones said in a statement. In a statement, GM said, "We look forward to having constructive discussions with the UAW on reaching an agreement that builds a strong future for our employees and our business." The contracts come at a difficult time for the UAW, as a federal corruption investigation into the union continues to grow. Last week, the FBI conducted searches at Jones' home, a union retreat and multiple other locations, including the home of the union's previous president, Dennis Williams. To date, seven people linked to the union and the automaker have been sentenced in the government's corruption investigation. Reporting by Nick Carey.
