THIS IS A GREAT CAR. I BOUGHT IT BECAUSE I COULD NOT FIND A 1962 CADDY CONVERTIBLE. I JUST FOUND ONE OF THOSE AND NOW NEED TO SELL THIS CAR. I HAVE HAD IT FOR ABOUT A YEAR. CAR RUNDS GREAT. THE INTEREIOR IS A 9 OUT OF 10. IT HAS A CONVERTIBLE TOP THAT WORKS GREAT AND IS A POWER TOP. THE TOP ITSELF IS REALLY NICE. IT IS A STRONG RUNNING CAR AND IT HAS VERY GOOD BRAKES. IT DOES HAVE THE FOLLOWING OPTIONS THAT I THINK ARE RARE BUCKET SEATS CONSOLE POWER TOP POWER STEERING AND BRAKES FACTORY AC THE CARS BODY APPEARS TO BE VERY STRAIGHT. I WOULD TELL YOU THE PAINT JOB IS GOOD. IT DOES HAVE SOME CHIPS THAT HAVE BEEN TOUCHED UP. IT ALSO HAS ONE SPOT OF RUST ON DRIVERS SIDE REAR QUARTER PANEL. IT IS NOT A LARGE SPOT BUT I WANTED TO NOTE IT. I JUST HAD THE GENERATOR REBUILT ON THE CAR. THE CHROME IS NOT PERFECT BUT IT IS NICE. THE GAS GAUGE IS THE ONE THING I KNOW DOES NOT WORK. IT ALSO DOES HAVE A CHEAPER AFTERMARKET RADIO IN IT. OVER ALL IT IS A SOLID CAR. IT APPEARS TO BEA MATCHING NUMBERS CAR. THIS IS A NICE CAR AT A NICE PRICE. THE CAR IS BEING SOLD AS IS WHERE IS. IT IS FOR SALE LOCALLY AND I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END AUCTION EARLY IF I SELL IT LOCALLY. I HAVE PUT MY LOWEST PRICE AS THE START PRICE AND WE WILL SEE WHERE IT GOES. Ford Fusion production scaled back just 3 months after it was accelerated
Mon, 02 Dec 2013Three months after kicking off production of the Ford Fusion at its Flat Rock, MI factory, Ford Motor Company is taking steps to trim output in the face of heavily discounted competition from Toyota and a growing supply of vehicles.
The addition of Fusion production in Flat Rock - which also builds the Mustang - was meant to be what pushed the handsome mid-sizer past its arch-nemesis, the Toyota Camry. An extra facility building Fusions was also meant to curb the growing demand for Ford's highly profitable sedan.
But with word that Flat Rock would take "approximately" one extra week off for the holidays combined with an 88-day supply of Fusions - reportedly due in no small part to what Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas called "aggressive discounting of the Camry" - some analysts are now beginning to wonder if Ford may have overextended itself by adding a second Fusion facility to the mix.

Car and Driver shows off awesome 1960s ads
Fri, Sep 11 2015Someone must have recently rediscovered the keys to the archives at Car and Driver, and the access has been put to good use. Following last month's fantastic look at automotive ads from the '50s, there's now a new gallery running from March 1960 through December 1969. This collection provides a great overview of a decade full of iconic cars. If you're a fan of Carroll Shelby, particularly his Mustangs, then there's a lot to love among this group. One ad from July 1965 aimed to sell the GT350, but with an ocean of text and a tiny picture, it probably could've used a once-over by Don Draper's team. By December '65, the copywriters ironed out the problems with a spot proclaiming boldly "Shelby GT350 is 'Son of Cobra.'" The company offered some great accessories, too. For those into European motoring, there's a humorous attempt to sell the Alfa Romeo Giulia as both a racecar and family hauler. Toyota also boasts about the winning record for the 2000GT. Among the best text comes from BMW for lines like: "What's BMW got? The most advanced high-performance engine in any production car, for a cruising speed of 100 mph." Of course, Volkswagen's famous "Lemon" ad for the Beetle also gets its due here. Separately, each of these ads is fascinating, but taken together they tell the story of a great decade of motoring.
