This car has had a boat load of money spent on it, by me and the previous owner. When I got the car the previous owner had spent around $22,000.00 on the car. Then I spent about another $6,000.00 on it to finish it up. I don't expect to get back all the money that has gone into this car, that is just not the way this car thing works as you probably know. I will tell you that my reserve is considerably less than what was spent to get it to this point of completion. It has been tubed with a fuel cell in the trunk. (one of the nicest tub jobs I have seen) It has a 9" ford rear end in it with all new components, Mark Williams Master Line Hi Performance Axles. It has headers with stainless exhaust It has a built 302, the guy said it was a 331 stroker motor, but I can't say for sure. It runs real strong. It has a built automatic in it, but it is not a c4 or a c6. I think it's a metric ford automatic. Virtually everything on this car is new or rebuilt. All the running gear, suspension, paint, interior, tires and wheels. The color is two tone Tacoma silver on the bottom and dark charcoal gray metallic on top. There are lime green and purple hand laid pinstripes separating the two colors, (They look nicer than it sounds) along with some pen striping on the trunk, hood and red and black ones on the dash. I know I am forgetting some stuff, so you can ask any questions you may have. There has been around 28,000.00 put into this car, the paint and interior were done in the last 6 months. The tub job, which is one of the best I have seen was 6500.00 not including the rear-end or springs. Check out the back seat, it is not shortened up like most tubed jobs. As you can see the under side of the car looks as good as the top side. You couldn't build this car for what you can buy it for, if your grandmother gave you the car to start with. Barrett-Jackson 2014: First production 2015 Ford Mustang earns $300k for JDRF [w/video]
Sat, 18 Jan 2014We've almost become immune to the huge dollar amounts that collectible cars earn for charity at Barrett-Jackson. To wit, $300,000 for the first production 2015 Ford Mustang initially didn't seem like very much money. In reality, though, it's probably about 10 times the actual asking price for the car, and we're pleased to report that 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
According to Ford, the car's winning bidder will get to "choose a fastback with manual or automatic transmission, and any interior, exterior and stripe color combination offered by Ford on the all-new Mustang." Power will come from a slightly revised version of the well-known 5.0-liter V8 engine that will produce "more than 420hp and 396 pound-feet of torque."
