Up for sale is my 1998 Mustang Cobra. This car was purchased in April of 2007 and I have been the owner since. The vehicle was purchased with only 37,000 miles and was 100% stock at the time. The reason I am selling the vehicle is due to an unfortunate knock that has developed in the motor. Unfortunately I do not have the time or money to invest back into the car as I recently finished college and just started a new job. This car has been my pride and joy since the date of purchase and is one of nine mustangs I have owned over the years. The car was maintained meticulously and always garaged. Up until a short time ago it was only driven in the summer months. However being in school I couldn't afford to keep two vehicles and had to use it for a short time during the winter. The car is extremely clean and has only a few very minor flaws(small door ding on passenger side that could be pushed out and a few other tiny paint blemishes). Some of the things I have upgraded over the years are... New KYB struts and shocks(2013), New tires(2013, 80% or more), Drilled/Slotted rotors and ceramic pads (2012), Ford Motorsport clutch(2012), Eibach sportline racing springs, BBK offroad H pipe, Borla catback exhaust, and Steeda Tri-Ax short throw shifter. You can see in the pictures some of the cosmetic things I had done to the car like tinted windows, Wheel spacers in the back(sets them out to line up with front wheels), rear bumper inserts, and a Cobra emblem for the grill area. I have invested a lot of time and money into this car and it saddens me to have to sell. The interior is in great condition as well and I am not a smoker. The driver seat does have some minor wearing on the left lumbar which is typical of these cars.The car does still run and was put back into storage after the knock developed. I've had a healthy appreciation for cars that stop since one truly unfortunate incident with a runaway 1971 Lincoln Continental.
It's funny how quickly a party can turn from, "We're all having blast" to "What happened to the front of the house, and how many stitches do you think this is going to take?" Standing in a Mustang salvage shop in Kodak, Tennessee, I couldn't help but feel I had strayed into the latter territory with Ugly Horse. There was a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 plucked from a rear-ended Cobra sitting off to my left. The shelves were lined with second-hand Roush and SVT components galore, but I couldn't stop staring at a set of rotors with the approximate diameter of my chest.
Ford recalls select Explorer, E-Series vans
Tue, 21 Jan 2014Just a few days ago we brought you news that Ford had issued a recall on 28,000 units of the Edge crossover for problems related to the fuel line. But now the Blue Oval has issued recall notices on two more of its larger vehicles.
The first relates to the Explorer, 395 examples of which from the 2011 and 2012 model years were found to have problems with their steering systems if they underwent service after September 1, 2013. An apparent software glitch could lock the steering gear, preventing the driver from steering the vehicle and thereby increasing the risk of a crash. As a result, Ford dealers are being instructed to check their records to identify the problematic vehicles and bring them in to have the steering gear replaced. The second problem revolves around E-Series vans that may develop bubbles in their windshields under hot temperatures. The decrease in visibility through the problematic windshield could - you guessed it - "increase the risk of a crash." As a result, Ford is calling in 4,532 units of the E-150, E-250, E-350 and E-450 vans built in the relatively short window between May 12 and May 26, 2011.
