We're downsizing our fleet and selling our great 2003 F350 Super Duty pickup, which we've owned since it had around 5500 miles on it.  As the pictures show, the pickup is in great shape.  Used lightly for construction around the house and travel trailer hauls, the truck has about 88,477 miles on it.  Yup, under 9,000 highway miles per year, so plenty of miles left for you.  We get 15-16 mpg in town and often more than 20 mpg on the highway.

Mostly dealer maintained, it has all power options (windows, mirrors, locks), tow/haul, electronic trailer-brake controller, mag wheels, leather interior, K&N air filter, 4 inch after-market stainless exhaust, and 2 new deep cycle batteries. Cold air conditioning. Tires are good, too.

Regular oil changes.  I had the oil and anti-freeze changed and the tires rotated recently.  At that time, the safety check showed brakes and other parts "in the green."

The engine powers right along.  Going down the Interstate, I almost couldn't tell that our 24' MaxLite trailer was on behind.  Tow/haul made downhill runs easier, too.  Comes with a Superchips Max Microtuner, which I never used, and the original air cleaner assembly, which I stored after installing the K&N filter.

I know people have had trouble with the 2003 6.0 engines, but our few problems came early in our ownership and proved to be minor.  When we bought the pickup, the turbo needed replacement and the factory actually came out and did that.  It's run just fine ever since.  Later, an injector needed replacement, too, and that was done.  Otherwise. only minor problems over almost 10 years.  One minor glitch currently:  the compass only works part-time.  Some minor wear on driver's seat cushions, no burns or cuts.

This great, non-smoker truck can be yours.  So bid well and bid often.

Here's what the UAW will be angling for in next year's contract negotiations

Mon, Dec 15 2014

The United Auto Workers union is about to enter a new round of negotiations with the Detroit Three automakers, and this time, the focus is on the end of the two-tier wage system. Introduced in 2007, the two-tier wage system was enacted to allow General Motors, Ford and Chrysler to categorize its hourly employees under two categories: Tier 1 for veteran employees with full rights and benefits, and Tier 2 for short-term or entry-level employees compensated under a different schedule. The idea was that the system would permit the automakers to invest more in their plants and hire new employees as part of their respective recovery plans without being saddled with all the costs associated with hiring full-time employees. Now that the automakers are (more or less) back on their proverbial feet, however, the UAW wants to see an end to the two-tier system, and will likely make that a center-point of its negotiations next year to replace the current arrangement that is scheduled to end in September 2015. Not all members of the UAW will necessarily be interested in ending the two-tier system, however. According to The Detroit News, some Tier 1 workers may be more interested in negotiating a raise in their hourly rate – something which they haven't received in almost a decade. Tier 2 workers, meanwhile, may be more motivated to keep the tiered system in place, as their arrangement includes provisions for profit-sharing payments that have seen the automakers pay out billions to so-called short-term employees in lump-sum payments. Reconciling the two competing demands from two categories of union members and presenting a united front in negotiations may prove the biggest challenge for the UAW's new president, Dennis Williams. And with the right to strike – something which was suspended during the last round of negotiations in 2011 – the union has a bigger bargaining chip in its pocket.

Ford adds third shift at F-150 plant to keep up with demand

Tue, 06 Aug 2013

The signs have been very positive for Ford's F-Series line of pickup trucks as of late, and after 24 consecutive months of increasing sales of the best-selling F-150, the automaker has added a third production crew at its Kansas City Assembly Plant that includes 900 new hourly workers to meet demand for the truck. This the first step in Ford's plan to add 2,000 hourly jobs at the plant to help meet demand for its trucks and to begin production of the new Transit van, the automaker says.
Despite some tough new competition, sales of the F-Series are the strongest they've been since 2006, according to Ford. The automaker sold 60,449 F-Series in July, the best sales figure for the mid-summer month since 2006, which also represents a 23 percent increase compared to July 2012. From January to July 2013, sales were up 22 percent compared to the same period last year.
Ford has committed to creating 12,000 hourly jobs by 2015, and with the 900 new employees added to the assembly plant in Missouri, the company says it has completed 75 percent of its goal. Ford has also invested $1.1 billion to retool and expand the Kansas City Assembly Plant to ready it for Transit production. Take a look at the press release below for more job and F-Series sales information.
