I am shutting my business down and will no longer need this truck. It is a great running truck and gets good fuel mileage despite its size, usually around 16 mpg. I have keep the maintenance up on this truck because this is my only truck and I can't afford break downs. All of the fluids are changes every year, includes transmission, power steering, brake, antifreeze, differentials, and gearbox. The engine oil every 2 months. I have replaced many parts on the truck including, front wheel hub assemblies, tie rod end, shocks, steering stabilizer, ball joints, thermostat, coolant tank, STC fitting for HP oil pump, dummy plugs in fuel rail, front rotors and pads, rear brakes (rotors, pads, calipers, hoses), rear wheel bearings, all u-joints, carrier bearing. Most of these parts were replaced due to preventive maintenance. There are a few things that I haven't replaced, the right rear parking brake cable and the exciter ring in the rear differential. The original exciter ring somehow came off the ring gear and broke the rear speed sensor. It causes the ABS light it be on because I removed the exciter ring and haven't gotten around to replacing it. The speedometer stills works because the truck has a back up sensor in the transmission. The check engine light stays on due to the EGR system being disabled. The EGR system has caused issues with these 6.0 liter engines, so I modified it. There is a plug in the back of the EGR Cooler and the EGR valve is unplugged. I have also removed the catalytic converter because it puts a tremendous drag on the engine, I kept the original converter because it is a $1200 part. The STC fitting at the High Pressure oil pump was replaced because it is a common problem for the trucks, and the dummy plugs in rails where replaced because they are a common issue. The issues these two parts caused were when the truck was hot then shut down, the hot engine oil was thin enough to leak through these fittings causing the truck unable to start to until it cooled down. I have been very happy with this motor/transmission in this truck. It has the 6 speed torqshift transmission, a very strong transmission. It only shifts 5 times because it depends on the temperature and tow/haul function. Basically the overdrive is a gear, not the torque converter locking up in 5th gear.  The truck also has supplement air bags installed on the rear axle. It makes it a really smooth ride. Also works great if hauling a heavy trailer because it eliminates the need for a load leveling hitch. I had a large camper that I hauled 4 times and tried it with and without the load leveler. Just simply pumping up the air bags to 40 psi was much better and a smoother rider then the load leveler. There are 5 wheels for the truck, 4 are polished chrome and 1 black steel spare. I have also keep the 4 rotors (front and rear) because they have enough steel to be turned. If you have any questions feel free to email me.

Pickup sales may hit 2M units for first time since 2007

Sat, 21 Sep 2013

Even as fuel prices creep back up, trucks are still a hot item among new-vehicle shoppers. To see how popular pickup trucks still are, you don't have to look any further than how much effort automakers put into the continual one-upmanship of their trucks. Backing this fact up, USA Today is reporting that the segment could top two million sales this year - a total not matched since 2007, though still far from the pre-recession, three-million-unit levels.
Through August, the Ford F-Series continues to be the segment leader with almost 500,000 units sold, but the Chevy Silverado (328,269), Ram 1500 (234,642), GMC Sierra (122,232) and Toyota Tacoma (110,293) are all seeing at least 20-percent sales increases, helping to account for around 1.44 million truck sales so far this year - not including possible outliers like the Suzuki Equator and Chevy Avalanche.
This year alone, General Motors has completely redesigned its fullsize trucks, Ram and Toyota have significantly updated their offerings, the next-gen Ford F-150 will be out next year and Nissan is promising an all-new Titan around the same time with an eventual Cummins diesel under the hood. It would seem, then, that truck sales are poised to continue their upward trend.

Autotrader picks best cars for 2015's college grads

Sun, May 31 2015

Summer is here and the school season is winding to a close. That means millions of students will be graduating college and (hopefully) entering the workforce. For many, that will mean buying a new car suited to the new stage in life into which they will now be embarking. That can be a bewildering choice, especially for someone who's never bought a car before. Fortunately, Autotrader has come up with a short list of recommended cars – new and used – which it recommends to the graduating class of 2015. Among the site's top choices are some compelling crossovers and hatchbacks, including the Buick Encore, Chevy Trax, and Jeep Renegade, as well as the Honda Fit, Nissan Versa Note, Mazda3 and Fiat 500. Can't stretch to buying new, or don't see the point? Autotrader has also identified the Toyota Camry, Ford Fusion and even the Lexus IS as smart buys in the certified pre-owned category. "Any time someone goes through a major life change, such as graduating college, they need to determine if their current ride makes sense for their lifestyle, from both a financial and functional perspective," says Autotrader editor Brian Moody. "For example, while that hand-me-down SUV from your parents was nice when you turned 16, you may want to opt for a safer, more fuel-efficient car as you transition into the working world." Autotrader Names 10 Best Cars for Recent College Graduates ATLANTA, May 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- For many, graduating college is a milestone like no other – it represents a new chapter, a proud accomplishment and, fortunately or unfortunately, financial independence. Luckily for graduates who are in the market for a new car to suit their post-college lifestyle, Autotrader's expert editors say now is a great time to make a purchase, as dealerships are flush with affordable models that are fun, fuel-efficient and thoughtfully designed.
