We are selling the last of our company trucks after selling the company at the first of the year.  This truck has been driven by me personally and is in great shape for the year and mileage.  I intended to keep this truck for myself and put the money in to it to make it right.

This F350 has no mechanical issues and is in perfect running order.  At 120K we performed the full recommended service including new plugs, plug wires and coils.  At 125K we replaced all 4 tires with 34" BFG TA KO's (315/75R16) which work well on this truck because it has 4.10 gearing.  In addition, we added a performance tuned Y pipe and performance exhaust from 5 star tuning and have an 5 star tuned SCT tuner to tune the engine for towing or performance. The leveling kit, replaced all 4 brake rotors and pads and a new windshield were also added at this time.  We also added the JVC DVD Player and replaced the speakers in the truck. The JVC can connect to your phone via bluetooth or USB port to play music and has a microphone for handsfree phone calls.

With the gearing and tire size, the highway mileage is around 15 miles per gallon.  Not many 1 ton gas trucks on 35" tires will get that kind of mileage.  On a recent trip from Northern Colorado to Grand Junction, we averaged 16.8 miles per gallon after going over the passes.

The interior is in good shape with no significant stains or tears.  There is some wear on the driver's seat typical of the age and mileage. The exterior paint is in good shape with the exception of the two dings shown in pictures.  There are also some rock chips along the lower door areas that have been touched up.  The topper has some places that have been touched up and the screens in the topper  have some holes from hauling landscape materials.  All glass is in good shape and we have the key to lock the topper.

We added the trailer brake controller when we purchased the truck in 2010 at around 100K miles.  It clearly had not been used for towing prior to our ownership.  We added the brake controller to tow small landscape trailers and our boat. With the performance mods, it makes for a great tow vehicle.

The harness in the rear seat allows for the back seat haul 3 people safely.  I will leave this in the truck, but it can easily be removed.

I encourage you to come take a look and drive this truck. While there is no warranty associated with this vehicle, I would not hesitate to drive it across county. It may have a few additional miles as it is my daily driver.

Good luck bidding!

Watch Ford build a Mustang atop Burj Khalifa, world's tallest building

Sun, Nov 23 2014

In 1965, a Ford Mustang Convertible proudly went on display at the top of the Empire State Building, the world's tallest building at the time. Earlier this year, the Blue Oval recreated the stunt by bringing the latest droptop 'Stang to the sky-high structure. Unfortunately, while still iconic, the New York skyscraper has lost the world title. Of course, an automaker can't let something like that get in the way of a good publicity stunt. For the inauguration of the Ford business unit in the Middle East and Africa, the brand gave the 2015 Mustang Convertible an even bigger building to climb – the biggest in fact. The droptop made its way to the 112th floor of the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building. To put a final topper on the whole event, executive chairman Bill Ford was the one to place the car's famous badge, making it complete. Like with the Empire State Building spectacle, getting the Mustang to the top wasn't as simple as just driving it off the elevator. Check out the video above to see how it was done, and scroll down to read Ford's press release about the event. 2013 Ford Explorer Sport

Thu, 04 Apr 2013

When one speaks of sporty and fun-to-drive utility vehicles, few would put the Ford Explorer in the same category as the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, BMW X5 or Porsche Cayenne. Yet, with just a few reservations, I'd toss the new-for-2013 Ford Explorer Sport close to that arena for consideration.
As a recap, the sportiest of Explorers is fitted with Ford's twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter Ecoboost V6, making 365 horsepower and 350 pound feet of torque. Acceleration is brisk (figure about 7 seconds to 60 miles per hour), as power goes to all four wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission. Contributing to its more athletic demeanor are larger front brakes, a sport-tuned suspension, chassis upgrades, quicker steering ratio and a more aggressive wheel/tire package. Cosmetically, the Sport is distinguished by its blacked-out lights, black trim and noticeable lack of chrome (with the exception of the door handles).
Ford recently handed me the keys to a Ruby Red Metallic Explorer Sport. Rather than mindlessly drive the big seven-passenger all-wheel drive hauler in soccer mom circles around Los Angeles, I loaded up my family and embarked on a long weekend road trip to Yosemite National Park.

Ford made three big mistakes in calculating MPG for 2013 C-Max Hybrid

Tue, Jun 17 2014

It's been a rough time for the official fuel economy figures for the Ford C-Max Hybrid. When the car was released in 2012, Ford made a huge deal about how it would beat the Toyota Prius V, which was rated at 42 combined miles per gallon, 44 city and 40 highway. The Ford? 47 mpg across the board. How did Ford come to this place, where its Prius-beater turned into an also-ran? Well, after hearing customer complaints and issuing a software update in mid-2013, then discovering a real problem with the numbers last fall and then making a big announcement last week that the fuel economy ratings of six different 2013 and 2014 model year vehicles would need to be lowered, the C-Max Hybrid has ended up at 40 combined, 42 city and 37 highway. In other words, the Prius trumps it, as daily drivers of those two vehicles have known for a long time. The changes will not only affect the window sticker, but also the effect that the C-Max Hybrid (and the five other Ford vehicles that had their fuel economy figures lowered last week) have on Ford's compliance with greenhouse gas and CAFE rules for model year 2013 and 2014. How did Ford come to this place, where its Prius-beater turned into an also-ran? There are two technical answers to that question, which we've got below, as well as some context for how Ford's mistakes will play out in the bigger world of green vehicles. Let's start with Ford's second error, which is easy to do since we documented it in detail last year (the first, needing to do a software update, was also covered). The basic gist is that Ford used the general label rule (completely legally) to test the Fusion Hybrid and use those numbers to figure out how efficient the C-Max Hybrid is. That turned out to be a mistake, since the two vehicles are different enough that their numbers were not comparable, despite having the same engine, transmission and test weight, as the rules require. You can read more details here. Ford's Said Deep admitted that the TRLHP issue is completely separate from the general label error from last year. Now let's move on to last week's announcement. What's interesting is that the new recalculation of the MPG numbers – downward, of course – was caused by a completely separate issue, something called the Total Road Load Horsepower (TRLHP). Ford's Said Deep admitted to AutoblogGreen that the TRLHP issue had nothing to do with the general label error from last year.
