One All American  1976 Ford F – 150 Ranger. Very reasonable reserve on this handsome half-ton.  This one owner estate sale truck has to be seen to be believed. It is an absolute time capsule.  Although it is 37 years old. It is virtually show room fresh. It is unrestored. All original two tone paint jade green, chrome yellow all original interior, all original running gear. If you have been looking for an unmolested original truck, look no further. This is a 78k original and documented mileage truck. I have service and maintenance records since 1979.  The truck also had the 70s vintage Winnebago canopy on it that was likely installed when the truck was new. I don't think there has ever been any water exposure to the bed.  I put the heavy rubber matt in to protect the bed. The truck has always been stored indoors is whole life. The spare tire bolts on the rack on the inside, right of the bed. Which I have. It has absolutely no rust  in it anywhere! That's right, none! This isn't a vehicle that looks good in pictures. This truck shows better in person than in the pictures.  Check out the pics of the bottom of the doors and the rust free metal and original paint on those pinch welds at the bottom of the Corners. This is one solid truck. There has been no modifications to the truck that I can see. It still has the original Trico wiper arms and Westinghouse headlights as delivered from the factory.  The dealer install A/C blows ice cold! The 390 engine is smooth and quiet. It purrs like a newborn kitten at idle and roars like a lion when you accelerate. No obnxious exhaust leaks, no pings, rattles, Knocks, squeaks or other Noises. The C-6 transmission shifts crisply on demand. The weatherstripping around the class is soft and pliable.  All of the lights work including the overlook back up lights and license plate lamp. The aluminum trim on this truck is amazingly shiny throughout. Check out the tailgate nameplate, it looks brand-new! The vinyl bench seat is perfect.  The dash pad is flawless and the carpet is in great condition, thanks to that throwback one piece floormat that's been in there since the Carter administration! You need some tunes for cruising, no problem stock a.m. radio is loud and clear. No silly aftermarket CD players in this vintage truck.  Just 100% clean and stock All American Ford!  As mentioned earlier I have owner maintained records of the mileage on this truck as he kept handwritten notes of his trips. One of the receipts for a new muffler was from 1988. The mileage documented at that time was 55K that means this truck has been driven less than 7K Miles in 24 years! The muffler still looks new to this day. Since taking ownership of this truck and because it was sitting on and off.  I have done the following: Replaced both fuel tanks and fuel lines. All new tune up parts radiator hoses water pump, New AC compressor, and rubber hoses with up to date coolant. ASE certified tech, so rest assured items were attended to and worked on  properly.   I had the windows tinted with a 3M Crystalline tint that does not darken but reflects all UV and 70% of heat.  $492.oo for that! The truck came equipped with factory dual tanks power steering power disc brakes push button a.m. radio. Owner installed trailer hitch wielded to frame. All lights and guages work properly. It has a few minor scratches here and there but overall This truck is a 9 on a 10 scale. Thank you for looking.

2022 Rivian R1T vs. 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning vs. GMC Hummer EV Pickup | How they compare on paper

Tue, Sep 28 2021

The 2022 Rivian R1T has arrived, ushering in the era of the production electric pickup truck. The Rivian reviews are in, and spoiler alert: They're pretty good. Curious how the new battery-powered truck stacks up to its forthcoming competitors? Well, you've come to the right place. Rivian beat all of Detroit's big automakers to market in the half-ton segment, but probably not by the margin the startup would have liked. Ford's answer is the F-150 Lightning, which is due to enter production early next year, coming hot on the heels of GM's first entry into the space – the GMC Hummer EV pickup – which is scheduled to come off the line late this fall. While all three are pickups, they're aimed at distinctly different buyers, as a perusal of their specifications will reveal. Let's have a look, shall we?   Disclaimer: Before we dive in on this one, we'd like to note that while we've made our best effort to verify the specs provided, the Rivian is brand-new and the others are still in the prototype phase. Some of these figures may be inaccurate or may simply change before production. This is all hypothetical until you can actually cross-shop them anyway, right? Cool. End disclaimer. Let's start with the powertrains. They're all battery-electric trucks engineered on a modular rear-wheel-drive configuration engineered to accommodate (theoretically, anyway) up to four electric drive units. Rivian actually makes the most use of this with a quad-motor setup producing 835 horsepower and 908 pound-feet of torque with its high-output initial model. GMC's three-motor Hummer has the R1T beat with its estimated 1,000-horsepower output, while Ford's (also three-motor) comes in with a far more modest 563 horses. This is an excellent illustration of our above point that these are not all engineered for the same crowd. Ford's F-150, which comes in at a lower price point, is meant to be far more mainstream, as its power output suggests.  This theme continues when we look at the dimensions. Despite the image "Hummer" may conjure, GMC's entry actually needs the shallowest parking space. The Rivian is right behind it, with the work-truck-spec Ford extending more than a foot longer than either. What the Hummer lacks in length, it makes up for in girth. It's the widest by a good 5 inches. The Rivian is only slightly pudgier than the F-150, but it's much closer at that end of the scale.

GM, Ford, FCA and the UAW form joint coronavirus task force

Mon, Mar 16 2020

General Motors, Ford and Fiat Chrysler are forming a coronavirus task force along with the United Auto Workers union to improve protections for their employees and limit the spread of the highly contagious virus. The task force, which would be focusing on areas including vehicle production plans, is being headed by UAW President Rory Gamble, GM Chief Executive Officer Mary Barra, Ford CEO Jim Hackett, Ford Executive Chairman Bill Ford and FCA CEO Michael Manley, the parties said in a joint statement on Sunday. Though automakers typically schedule plant staffing to allow for a certain proportion of absent workers, according to industry consultants, if the outbreak causes higher levels due to infection or workers staying home to care for children whose schools are closed, that could lead to reduced production or in extreme cases shutdowns. Production at an FCA assembly plant in Canada was halted for 24 hours after employees there refused to work on Thursday over fears of an employee being possibly exposed to the coronavirus. Separately on Thursday, the Italian-American automaker said that one of its employees had tested positive for COVID-19, a respiratory disease caused by the new coronavirus, at its transmission plant in Indiana. The plant, however, remained open. "This is a fluid and unprecedented situation, and the task force will move quickly to build on the wide-ranging preventive measures we have put in place," the CEOs of the three companies said in the statement. The task force would also be focusing on aspects such as health and safety education, health screening, food service at the automakers' locations.
