1974 RANGER XLT. 64,591 ORIGINAL MILES. SOME RUST ON THE WHEEL WELLS ON THE BOX. VEHICLE WAS WRECKED ON A SNOWY DAY LAST WINTER. IT DAMAGED THE HOOD AND THE GRILLE INSERTS, IT DID NOT DAMAGE THE BUMPER, RADIATOR, OR ANY OTHER PART. THE HOOD IS A USED ORIGINAL WITH A DENT ON THE RIGHT FRONT, WHICH WOULD BE AN EASY REPAIR. THE DOORS ARE SPRUNG DUE TO THE WIND. THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR AND FRONT FENDER WILL REQUIRE SOME BODY WORK AS THE PHOTO SHOWS. THE ENGINE IS A 360, WHICH IS BELIEVED TO BE THE ORIGINAL, BUT WILL FIND OUT FOR SURE, AS I WORK WITH THE GUY I BOUGHT IT FROM. TIRES HAVE ABOUT 1500 MILES ON THEM. THE INTERIOR IS CLOSE TO PERFECT, THE DASH IS CRACKED. THIS RUNS AND DRIVES LIKE NEW. IT HAS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION I HAD GREAT PLANS FOR RESTORING THIS TO PERFECT, BUT TOO MANY OTHER PROJECTS GOT IN THE WAY. THIS WAS AND STILL IS A DAILY DRIVER. I DRIVE IT ABOUT 2 MILES TO WORK EVERY DAY. AGAIN IT DRIVES AND RUNS PERFECTLY. THIS WOULD A WAY EASY RESTORATION BACK TO PERFECT. MY SON WANTED TO MAKE IT INTO A CONVERTIBLE RAT ROD, BUT I WILL NOT TAKE THIS CONDITION OF VEHICLE AND BUTCHER IT. IT IS A FAIRLY RARE RANGER XLT PACKAGE AND A CAMPER SPECIAL, IT HAS THE STORAGE BOX ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, WHICH IS ONLY ON THE CAMPER SPECIAL. PLEASE LOOK AT THE PHOTOS AND THEN FEEL FREE TO ASK ANY QUESTION. I WILL ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS, EXCEPT ANYONE WHO QUESTIONS THE ORIGINAL MILEAGE. THIS WAS PURCHASED NEW BY MY FRIENDS FATHER, AND SPENT MANY YEARS IN HIS GARAGE. IT WAS STARTED FREQUENTLY AND DRIVEN ABOUT EVERY MONTH TO KEEP EVERYTHING IN WORKING ORDER. THANKS FOR LOOKING AND FEEL FREE TO ASK ANY QUESTIONS. TRUCK IS LOCATED IN CODY, WYOMING. THIS TRUCK CAN BE INSPECTED AND DRIVEN ANY TIME. I CAN BE CONTACTED AT 307-899-0776. WE ARE LOCATED 53 MILES FROM YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK. IF THE BUYER CANNOT PICK IT UP RIGHT AWAY, I WOULD BE GLAD TO HOLD IT FOR A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME. LET ME KNOW. |

Ford picks up new Ranger overseas [w/video+poll]
Tue, Mar 24 2015The new Ford F-150 is lighter and more efficient than the model it replaced, but if it's a smaller Ford pickup that you really wanted, you're going to have to pack your bags. Because while Dearborn stopped selling the Ranger in North America years ago, it still offers one in markets overseas. And it's just rolled out a refreshed model at the 2015 Bangkok Motor Show in Thailand. Following the reveal of the new Everest sport-ute with which it shares its chassis, the refreshed Ranger pickup benefits from revised sheetmetal, powertrain and equipment throughout. The changes are punctuated by a front end with a more rugged-looking grille, a more sculpted hood and projector headlamps. The interior has been updated as well, not only in terms of style but equipment as well, with an eight-inch touchscreen display in the dashboard running Sync 2 and dual TFT displays flanking the speedo in the instrument cluster. Under the hood, buyers will be able to choose between a carryover 2.5-liter inline four with 163 horsepower and 166 pound-feet of torque that's the sole gasoline option or one of two diesel options: a 2.2-liter four now producing 158 hp and 284 lb-ft, or a 3.2-liter inline-five with 197 hp and 347 lb-ft. The diesel engines are more efficient than before with available stop/start engine management, and offer what Ford says is class-leading towing capability. Six-speed automatic or manual gearboxes transmit the power to the road through either the rear wheels or all four. Production will continue in Thailand for the Asia Pacific Market, South Africa for Africa and Europe, and in Argentina for Latin America. All told the new Ranger will be offered in 180 markets, around the world but for better or worse, ours won't be one of them. This content is hosted by a third party. Jurassic Park made a big impact on these Jeep drivers
Thu, 12 Jun 2014For a certain cohort of young folks, Jurassic Park is a touchstone film from their childhood. Not only did it play into practically every little boy's love of dinosaurs, the movie included some great action scenes and special effects that still hold up today. In its latest video, The Aficionauto takes a look the Jurassic Park Motor Pool, a California car club with over 40 fans who created replica vehicles from the iconic film.
The club is made up of an interesting cross-section of people. Many of them were Jeep Wrangler fans that already loved off-roading and Jurassic Park, and liked the idea of bringing them together. Like any close-knit club, it ends up being about community and people coming together to share their interests. It's quite a heartwarming video. Also, be sure to stay until the end because The Aficionauto teases a future Jurassic Park-themed vehicle. Scroll down to check out the motor pool.
New Ford Escape spied inside and out
Fri, Jun 26 2015For the 2016 model year, the Ford Escape receives the Blue Oval's latest Sync 3 infotainment system and some minor tweaks to the color and trim options. Based on these new spy shots, it would appear that the crossover is due for some much bigger changes not too far into the future, as well. The thorough refresh isn't just an exterior styling update, either. Ford's designers are giving the future Escape a front end that's a bit more in the style of the latest Edge, at least based on these shots. Peek behind the mesh obscuring the grille, and the styling there now appears to have a hexagonal shape with horizontal slats and a smaller, lower intake. At the same time, the headlights are narrower and come to a sharper point as they wrap around the fender. The heavy camouflage makes the changes at the back harder to spot, although the taillights seem subtly tweaked with a similar overall shape but a clear stripe cutting through the center. The Escape also seems to be receiving a completely different center stack inside, but the area is still well concealed. The gearshift moves down between the seats, and that allows physical controls for the radio and HVAC to take that real estate. It's possible that the infotainment screen might pop up from the mesh-covered area you can see at the top of the interior photos. Take a look through the gallery for some detailed shots of Ford's camouflaged crossover.
